Unfortunately, the interaction was very brief and dismissive. Rey Baker The General Manager did not review my résumé or engage in conversation, declined to shake my hand, and stated he was busy before ending the interaction.
I have been in the automotive industry for 27 years, progressing from salesperson to Executive General Sales Manager. I currently oversee two stores, and I strongly believe in maintaining an open-door policy and treating employees, customers, and visitors with professionalism, courtesy, and respect—regardless of how busy the day may be.
To date, I have not received any follow-up regarding my application. I found the experience disappointing and inconsistent with the level of professionalism I have practiced throughout my career.

Since your visit to our location was recent, then you are undoubtedly aware that we are less than 1 month away from the completion of a brand new dealership that was constructed from the ground up, a project that Rey was instrumental in completing. As you may imagine, there are still countless items that require his attention, as one would expect with the completion of a brand new building. If at any time, your interaction was not as you would have expected, I can assure you, it was not with the intention of Rey to be in any way disrespectful. He has dedicated countless hours to the completion of this new facility for our guests, and the project is far from final or perfect. While we completely understand, respect and appreciate your interest in joining our organization, Rey's focus is on making sure the facility is ready for our guests. We encourage those individuals who wish to speak with our leadership to schedule appointments so that they may be given the time they deserve. Since you are a member of this industry, I am confident that you would agree our customers will always be our primary priority. Getting this facility prepared for our guests will continue to be our main focus.
Rey has epitomized leadership in every conceivable way since joining our organization, consistently demonstrating professionalism, guidance, compassion, and most importantly, empathy. During those times when our guests may need us most, it is then that he demonstrates his strength and understands that there may be circumstances we all are unaware of, so instead of judgement, we take those opportunities to rise above and provide kindness and understanding.
