Had excess lease mileage on a 2024 Ford Escape so I gave back the leased vehicle at this location with the intent of then purchasing, for cash, a new 2026 Escape that featured the same or better trim as th back the leased vehicle at this location with the intent of then purchasing, for cash, a new 2026 Escape that featured the same or better trim as the leased vehicle I returned. Dealer showed me an Escape that he represented was the same exact trim as the car I had returned (which turned out not to be true as it was the lowest base model with a trim that did not include a power lift gate). Dealer initially quoted me an insane price in the 40s that he would give me a break on. When I pointed out that this same car was advertised on their own website at a price of 28K, the salesman's response was that the advertised price included all incentives which no one person could qualify for--obviously another lie since all incentives did not total anywhere near 12K. I should also note that the sticker for the car was not on the window. The dealer finally quoted a price near the realm of reality, but only when he was told we would be headed to nearby Akers Ford, a dealer which was much more pleasant to deal with and would sell me an Escape with the trim I wanted for much less than Grieco's quoted price. However, Grieco Ford, still misrepresenting the vehicle as the trim that I wished to purchase, eventually came down to a price in the realm of reality. Out of convenience, I made the mistake of buying it and paying for it in full with a certified check. The next day, after determining that they had misrepresented the trim, we attempted to return the vehicle to Grieco for a refund. While the salesperson at Grieco, to his credit, acknowledged that they did in fact misrepresent the trim level of the car he sold us, he flat out refused our request for a refund. The best they would do at that point was to upgrade us to a 2026 Bronco with a power lift gate (at a price that was about 5K more than other dealer were closing these vehicles out at). FOOOTNOTE: We tried to appeal to Mike Grieco, head of the Grieco Automotive Group, but his personal guarantee regarding complete customer satisfaction in this case was totally meaningless. We found that Mike Grieco is not even listed in the Grieco Automotive Group directory, so good luck to anyone who believes his commercials and attempts to contact him regarding a patently unsatisfactory sales experience with one of his dealers. If Mike Grieco is reading this, please contact me because I can't contact you. Ask Ricky for the cell number of the buyer's dad. More
