I’m very happy with my experience at Lester Glenn Hyundai in Toms River. Sarah Walsh was my salesperson. It’s an unusual time to buy a car, given inventory shortages and higher prices. Sarah and I communicat in Toms River. Sarah Walsh was my salesperson. It’s an unusual time to buy a car, given inventory shortages and higher prices. Sarah and I communicated entirely on the phone and via text and email before I ever made the purchase. At no point did I feel pressured. In fact, after our initial conversation, there was maybe about a month or so that went by before I was ready for the next step and we had our second conversation. She didn’t harass me like most other dealerships did. Additionally, Lester Glenn offered me the best price for the Hyundai Tucson that I wanted. The process was very smooth and clear with Sarah. She was accommodating, patient and always answered my questions, even days after the purchase was finalized. If I ever had a question about the car, I’d text her and she’d get back to me. If I needed to come back into the dealership to chat, she made time for me. She sat inside the car and showed me how everything works (since I agreed to purchase the car before it was ever on the lot, another oddity due to the current market!). I inquired about a couple concerns I had with the car and Sarah was always willing to talk and ease my mind. One of the concerns was that I noticed a very minor pull in the material of the passenger side seat. My concern was that it could get worse over time. Sarah and the manager informed me that the only way to fix it would be to have the entire seat re-apolstured. Rather than going to that extreme, they said they would make a note in my file. This made me feel better, knowing that if the pull were to get worse, I can go back to the dealer and they can address it then. It was a great car-buying experience. The only drawback to my car-buying experience was when I went to sign the contract with finance and was presented with various extended warranties for purchase. I didn’t really want these. I didn’t necessarily feel pressured but somehow I still walked away with two plans! Darren simply did his job and made a sales pitch. I just didn’t stick to my guns. I went home frustrated because my monthly payment went up over $70. I read the contracts and realized there were different levels of the service contract and also the option for deductibles, all of which would’ve made the cost less and hadn’t been presented to me. I had simply been sold the most expensive option. I also went online and read the terms of the contracts, something I hadn’t been provided with at the time. I did more research and talked to family about it. I ultimately decided to cancel the contracts, which I had three days to do in order to have my monthly payment lowered. When I went back and explained to Sarah, she was understanding and helpful. I met again with Darren and he was also patient and helpful (although, he did mention that it was a pain to have to remove the warranties because he had to re-do my entire contract). I didn’t feel pressured to keep or change the contracts. While I would’ve appreciated to have the complete details of each warranty laid out before me and would’ve liked time to process all that information and make an informed decision before signing my paperwork, overall, I thought the situation was handled well. I’m thankful to Lester Glenn for a smooth car-buying process, great service and my beautiful car. More
