Michael and Scott were great from the initial "Hello". Made me feel comfortable making a decision on a new brand and dealership to trust. Their chemistry with each other was refreshing, seemed li "Hello". Made me feel comfortable making a decision on a new brand and dealership to trust. Their chemistry with each other was refreshing, seemed like they were actually friends and co workers. I want a dealership to be friendly like that. Thanks very much for everything. More

Carl is the Internet Sales Lead at Joe Heidt Motors. I was actively pursuing the purchase of a 2010 leftover with specific features, and had found a number of them in dealers inventories as far away as Ma was actively pursuing the purchase of a 2010 leftover with specific features, and had found a number of them in dealers inventories as far away as Maryland, but none close by in my area of South Jersey. I did, however, find one in the inventory at Joe Heidt VW, which is still agreat distance away from me, but, at least still in my own state. I was able to contact and negotiate with Carl over the internet, without the need for hard back and forth negotiations, and, quite frankly the "I've got to talk to manager" stuff that happens when you are live in the showroom. Since this was not my first negotiation using email, I thought I'd get the normal blow-off, where no one actually expects the buyer to come through (hey, you're not a warm body in the showroom if you're a nameless, faceless stranger over the internet), but Carl did something so usual, something I had not seen from ANY other dealer. Carl emailed a personalized video, introducing himself, and providing a real response to my offer, NOT some canned video that goes to everyone. Boy was I impressed by the response, but, not initially by the offer. However, we continued to negotiate over email, and, in a short time, even while I was negotiating with other dealers via the internet, Carl made me an offer that was exactly what I was looking for. I placed a deposit that day over the phone, and since we couldn't actually get to the dealership for another 5 days, and, based on past experience buying cars in general, we really expected something to fall through before we actually got there. So, the day we were supposed to make the LONG trip there, Carl called to tell us some bad news (I knew it was too good to be true)...During detail of the car, the shop found some scuff marks on the rear bumper, and have not been able to get them removed. Carl sent me a number of pictures of the scuff so that I could see the extent of the problem. They offered me an option to pick up the car another day after it could be repaired (again, I was thinking that the deal wasn't going to happen), or they could try to arrange to have it repaired somewhere closer to my home. Either way, we were still interested in buying the car, so, I told them to do the best they could, and we'll be on our way up, and decide once we get there. Scott, Carl's manager, told me that he'll have the bumper (its just a cover), swapped with another of the same color on his lot. Since it was a 2.5-3 hour drive up, they had plenty of time to make the switch. When we arrived, the car was PERFECT! Not a thing wrong with it. The only thing that was crazy was the number of customers and the lack of parking due to the number of cars on their lot, and the number of customers in the store at the time. Wow! Who says no one is buying cars? This dealership is very small, but they were also very busy. This, unfortunately, did not provide us with as much time as we would have liked to get to know Carl and Scott more, but we're glad they were busy with sales and not just uninvolved salespeople. Chase, the finance manager was prepared, and performed his job very well, and, even though we felt somewhat "rushed" out of the dealership, our deal was complete, and we were happy buyers. What more could a dealership ask for? The only thing missing was our owners manual, which Carl is planning to fedex to us shortly. All in all, we had a great experience with this dealership. We're too far away to be back for service, although I could understand other reviewers complaints about the service department due to its small size. I'll be working with my local VW dealership for service and the such, but, in the future, I won't hesitate to make the long drive again to North Jersey if the salespeople at Joe Heidt are going to be honest and work with me on the very best deal, as they have this time. There aren't too many dealerships I'd say this about, but I would certainly provide repeat business to them, even if just to match a price. My only suggestion to the dealership: The person that answers the main phone line needs to speak slower. There is no reason to jumble all the words together so that it makes to sense to the caller.
