The salesman, Mason, was helpful with the purchase. But the dealership itself is a different story. They had my home address when I first walked in and started talking about purchasing a vehicle. I was told I could get a lower interest rate through a credit union different than the bank I was preapproved with before I came in. I asked some questions about this credit union to the workers, and ended up telling them to go ahead and see what I could get through them. After pulling my credit, I was told my address was out of the credit union’s jurisdiction. I let Scott, the finance guy, know that I wasn’t happy with them pulling my credit for financing they should have known I wouldn’t be able to use. I explained how their lack of attention to detail was going to hurt my credit score. Scott said to me “Well I didn’t know your address”. This place had my address the whole time, showing their information sharing between employees is terrible. Scott also insisted and said to my face that they only did a soft inquiry, not a hard inquiry. Which was a straight up lie. I told him I’d be keeping an eye on my credit report, and nonetheless I got a notification there was a hard inquiry on my credit score from Scott pulling my credit for the credit union that they told me I could finance through. I recommend Mason as a car salesman, but everyone else I interacted with was terrible. More
