I have been a long-time customer with Harold Ziegler, But not anymore. I brought my Jeep in for service, and Derek told me it was the oil sensor, so I had them replace it because it is under the intake and i not anymore. I brought my Jeep in for service, and Derek told me it was the oil sensor, so I had them replace it because it is under the intake and it had to be removed. Why they were in there I had them replace the spark plugs because they are under the intake as well. I get the vehicle back and about a week later it starts leaking oil, again I bring it back in and Derek tells me it's the oil cooler that is under the intake, Derek asks do you want to change the Spark plugs also. I said no you just changed them. (He should have been able to see that if they did it.) Then I get it back and I go to start it, and its blows smoke out the exhaust and then goes away. Then it starts doing it more frequently and I bring it back in and Derek said they couldn't find anything. So, I drove it another week and it keeps smoking and the miles per gallon has dropped off. So again, I bring it back in and DEREK (Service Adviser) looks at it and said I need a NEW MOTOR 11,300 for a new motor and I told them that all my work has been done through Ziegler, and it ran fine before something happened and this is not on me. Derek then stepped away and refired me to his Boss Brent (service manager) which did nothing at all. said it couldn't have been them. Not offer to check it again nothing Terrible Manager. I worked at a larger truck outfit as their parts manager, and we did whatever we could to take care of the customer. So, since I have a long-time background in automobiles I went and had the vehicle scanned from a local shop and found two things wrong. 1 - Crankcase Positioning Sensor was bad $19.99 2 - Air intake/change temperature sensor was bad $16.99. Both Items that are on the intake and probably got bump or damaged when taking off the intake. Casing the computer to think the engine is running lean. which return the computer bumps up the fuel to compensates for it. Causing the oil to get flooded with raw fuel causing the smoke out the exhaust. More

My reason for the rating is that when I brought in my 2012 Compass in for a four wheel alignment, I was told that due to “corrosion issues”, the rear wheels could not be aligned. You then proceeded to te 2012 Compass in for a four wheel alignment, I was told that due to “corrosion issues”, the rear wheels could not be aligned. You then proceeded to tell me that it would be $150 to give me a quote for how much it would actually be! Without paying the $150, I could only get an estimate of $2000-$3000 for the repairs. What I actually found out (after 4 hours of Internet forum research) was that all 07-12 Compasses, Patriots, and Calibers have a rear crossmember made of defective steel (foreign) that was not properly protected from the Michigan winters and salt. This leads to corrosion in 8-12 years that allows weakening and bending of the crossmember and wheel misalignment. This is why my daughter went off the road and incurred a $200 towing bill during the last snowstorm. I have driven almost 100 cars through snow and ice over 40 years and have never had one that would wander as much as this one. Now, I am pretty handy and for $135, I can buy and replace the rear crossmember myself. This time making sure it is protected from the elements. It would have been nice to have an “honest” conversation with the tech, knowing the issue, and understanding that Chrysler was not willing to to support their products that are not safe to drive in Michigan. The reason for the 2 star rating over the 1 star, is that the tech graciously only charged me for the 2 wheel alignment, since they could only align the front wheels. Sorry for the long explanation, but you need to have a better relationship with your customers if you want them to come back. I personally avoid dealerships in general due to the absurd costs, but when I am paying top dollar, I expect to get knowledge and information only a dealership can provide. Thank you for your time.
