I am very skeptical when it come to car dealers and try to be very careful. They gave me a good price on the car and tried to make me happy (hard to to..lol). Jose was very competent and Ed Martinez in finance was on top of his game. I did the hard negotiations with Shawn and even he was nice to deal with. Thank you for you time and professionalism , I will be sure to refer friends and collogues. More

She will be driving in 2 years and we would like to pass this car along to her. It's a fairly long story but please read for some tips. The car that my husband looked at in the morning was miraculously sold by 5:30pm that same day when I met him and Jose to seal the deal. We were told that they had a bunch of cars with the Sport package in the color we wanted. Jose and Shawn convinced us that we should get the car with the sport package because they couldn't get the SE and it was a nicer car anyway. I can only assume they needed to push this particular car. Fine, they gave us a good price and the car appearance is much nicer. That experience was annoying but turned out great. We left happy. Then when we went to pick up the car on a snowy, March morning. We called and were told the car is in the garage so that we can take a good look at it. When we got there, it was outside covered by a thin layer of snow. Chris was the guy who went over the features with us. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Honestly, everyone was. My husband stopped listening when he realized the car was already driven 198 miles. This is when our happy experience turned sour. Jose insisted that this level of mileage is normal. I think all my husband wanted to hear was that it isn't normal. We were ready to leave with no Golf. John, came out to try to rectify the situation. He did admit that the mileage was a little high. He offered us money off the car or the trade-in so as to keep a happy customer. Too late, the damage was done. He was willing to refund our deposit but the plates were already moved over and the car was sitting right in our faces. At this point, it wasn't the money or the number of miles but the dishonesty that comes with being a salesperson. We asked if they could get us another car with lower miles and John's response was that there weren't any around!!! Are you kidding, just 4 days before, there were several and that's why they pushed the Sport package. Hey Car Sales People.... We weren't born yesterday. I suggested that he disclose the estimated number of miles before a customer picks up the car as to avoid this situation. He said they never have this situation. Just be honest with us.. He insisted he was being honest. We took the offer and wanted the refund to apply to the trade-in. They were good with that. We then worked with Bob to complete the finance part of the transaction. He presented all of the warranty info, tire program, damage program etc to us. It's funny to see that he was completely prepared with the monthly payment for each combination of those options. Then Jose tells us they will mail us a check for that refund we spoke about. Mail it??!! We wanted our monthly payment reduced not a refund check. They couldn't do it that way, even after they asked us if we wanted it applied to the trade-in or price of the car because why??,,,,,, They would need to re-run the contract, finance what??? They obviously could have made those adjustments if I purchased one of the warranty programs. Hey Car Sales People.... We weren't born 2 days before yesterday either! Bob was pleasant and didn't push us too much. He graciously accepted our no, no, no and oh yeah, no. All in all, they did rectify the situation but by that time, we were exhausted and our excitement was gone. That was just too bad. But hey, they rectified it and they were cool about it. Tips: get everything in writing even at your initial interest. Find out how many cars they have in the package you want. And ask approximately how many miles would be on the car when it is delivered to you. Knowing all that would have made our experience just below perfect. Jose, Shawn, Bob and John, thank you. I hope this was a learning experience for you as well. We'll be back when my younger daughter is ready to drive but please just be honest! More

VW of Huntington doesn't honor their Salesman's promises Traded in my 2012 VW Jetta Sportwagen, at the dealer that sold me the car new in 2011. I bought this car at top dollar and it cost me Approx $500 a mo Traded in my 2012 VW Jetta Sportwagen, at the dealer that sold me the car new in 2011. I bought this car at top dollar and it cost me Approx $500 a month on the car loan, warranty included, no tire warranty. The 2012 VW was sold to me by John Jaramillo before he became the Dealership manager. In December 2014 I went to VW of Huntington again and traded in my 2012 and asked the dealer for an older model in order to reduce my payment. I started off with one salesman, Jose Serverio and it was obvious he was unable to “sell” me. He called in the Dealer manager, John Jaramillo, who had sold me my 2012 VW. He gave me the smarmy salesman pitch about how he wanted to keep me as a loyal customer, etc. AT first glance it looked like a good deal. He made me an offer of a leftover 2014 with only $500 down and a car loan that was 2% lower than my previous loan. My loan was reduced approximately $80 a month. I later wound up paying $3,800 upfront for the 7 year extended warranty and tire warranty. He conveniently left out the fact that it was not included in the original deal, and I didn’t ask, so that was the reason for the lower monthly payment. I was told by the salesman, Jose Severio, that the first month's payment was going to be made by VW and that MY first payment was due in FEB 2015. In January, I received my first loan installment notice and I called Jose Serverio to confirm that the January payment would be made. He assured me that the payment would go out by . The first week in February I received an arrears notification from the bank, and a phone call from the bank, stating that my new loan was in arrears for the January payment and that if not paid it would be reported to the credit bureau as 30 days late. I immediately went to VW to speak to Jose Severio and straighten it out. He looked at my account and then got a deer in the headlights look on his face. He then brought in the head salesman, Shwan Baron, who asked me to explain the circumstances again, and told me I had a loan, not a lease and there was no way that VW would pay the first month's installment even though Jose Serverio was present at the table when I explained the circumstances. The dealership manager, John Jaramillo, who actually closed the deal because he salesman was not able to negotiate it, was on vacation. I left the dealership. I called VW Corporate Offices and put in a formal complaint. They inform me that after speaking to the dealership manager, who was now back from vacation, they cannot force him to make the payment as I have a loan not a lease. VW is saying that I now have to pay the first month as I have a loan, not a lease. The VW salesman made the mistake, and I am being forced to pay for it even though I had not budgeted for this. I spoke personally to the dealership manager and he claims he has not yet spoken to his salesman and that he cannot pay it because it is a loan and not a lease and that's not his responsibility, even though his Salesman made the error, I have to pay. The amount in question is $418! VW has put me through a month of aggravation even though it was their salesman's error. They have been abrupt with me and keep touting the corporate line that you have a loan, not a lease. Mr. Jaramillo no longer wishes to keep me a satisfied VW customer now that the deal is done. Did I mention that my 2012 car was already sold? I'm sure they made out on that deal as well. Having to come up with another $418 dollars this month is a bigger hardship for me than it is for VW. This is not the first time VW has taken advantage of me. I bought a 1975 VW Bettle brand new from the showroom and it stalled on me the on the drive home the day I bought it. It was towed 6 times while until the then 3 month warranty and VW would not make good on the car. The offered me 2/3 of purchase price after I owned the car for 1 week. I swore I would never buy another VW and kept to my word until 2011. The Jetta Sportwagen TDI had all the features I required and no other car came close. I regret having dealt with VW again. They have once again shown that the customer always comes last at VW. Their salesmen are not to be trusted. More
