Hi Steve, Thank you for finally responding back to me. I do apologize for my temper but that was after several failed attempts and getting nothing back so extreme frustration. The original problem originated when I brought my car in on 8/4. If it helps it looks like the ticket number may be 645360/1 The service tech that assisted me was Nick Fornero. The original email sent in ….. About a month ago I went in because my car was having issues starting. 2022 Venue. I was told it was the key fab. There was no charge since I'm leasing my car. Nick was the guy I was working with. When I picked my car up he handed me my key and said we had to program a new key. I said okay. I said what about my second key, I have two. He said I never thought of that. You'll have to bring your car back in so we can get your other key for you. He told me my spare will no longer work. So I went home and I tried to unlock my car with the spare key fab and as he said it no longer worked. So I threw it away. Now I'm being told that he shouldn't have said it that way. That the spare needs to be brought in for reprogramming. I'm sorry but you're damn right he shouldn't have said it that way! There is a big difference between something not working and something that just needs to be reprogrammed and if he just would of said that then of course I would've kept it. Now my car is having issues not starting again (which I'm trying very hard not to be disgruntled about in an of itself) and I'm being told that in order to hopefully fix it I need both keys so they can be paired together. Now I'm on the hook to pay $311.00 for the key and $120.00 to cut the key. When again I just listened to the mechanic when he said we made you a new key. Your spare won't work. You guys are the mechanic. Maybe it's clear as day to you that those are reprogrammable. Me, that's not my job. Why would I know that. If something doesn't work I'm not going to keep it around. I would really like something to be done about this. Please advise. Again, I’m not trying to be unreasonable. My last car didn’t have a key fab so I had zero clue that they could be reprogrammed so when he told me “they made me a new key” I took it to heart. Thinking that they really made a new key not reprogrammed the original key. When he said the spare “won’t work” well because he said he made a new key I assumed they had to make a spare key also. I’m not trying to get anyone in trouble but I also shouldn’t be on the line to pay 400.00 for his poor choice of words. I would really like it if we can come to some sort of closure on this that is reasonable. I work during the day and am fairly busy so it’s hard to get away to make a phone call. If I can I will try. Hi Steve, Thank you very much for taking care of this. I do appreciate it. My apologies that I’ve been hard to get a hold of. At the moment it’s currently our end of the month closing at work so we’re all a little swamped. I did receive a voicemail last night while I was still at work from the CS manager and I believe he said he works tomorrow. I can swing in when I’m through with work around 4:40ish if that would work w/him. Just let me know. Again, your help w/this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shawny
