Salesman stood me up After research on this site, I fount Showcase and Steve Marion to be highly rated. Just what I was looking for...I thought. I called Steve on Wednesda After research on this site, I fount Showcase and Steve Marion to be highly rated. Just what I was looking for...I thought. I called Steve on Wednesday afternoon, told him that it was important that I build trust and a relationship with the salesman I dealt with, and set an appointment for 9:30 the next morning (Thursday). This was a time that HE said was convenient for him. The dealership is a 50 mile round-trip and farther than three other Honda dealerships. After getting off the phone, I got a call from a client asking me to do a job for him the next morning (Thursday). Since I will move mountains (or in this case, lose money) to keep my word, I turned it down. I arrived at Showcase for our 9:30 appt, and was greeted by a very nice young lady who showed me to an office. Immediately, a very young man came in and said that Steve had just left the lot to go show a car to someone else, and that he, the young guy, was going to take over. During our phone conversation, Steve told me he'd been there 19 years. I guess in all that time he failed to learn two things 1) to keep his word, and 2) to listen! Especially when I told him that the most important thing to me was to build a trusting relationship. I'm not sure if dealers or salesman can respond here, but just keep something in mind. Explaining poor treatment doesn't excuse it. Whatever excuse he has, there were many options, other than to stand me up, that he could have taken. I really don't know if this is a good dealership, but I do know that I wasn't treated well. I really don't know what it would take for me to go back there, considering their (supposed) best salesman acted like...well...the stereotypical car salesman from years ago. Maybe I need to work with a salesman who's new to the industry. They might not have developed disrespectful bad habits. More
