If you serious about buying a VW contact Bryce at Ken Garff VW in Orem. Read on to learn why. My wife and I went in on our anniversary to purchase a new car from Strong. We waited for over 20 minutes to get any kind of help. When we finally did the salesman didn't know anything about pricing or inventory. We left without purchasing. Fast forward a few months and again we considered purchasing a vehicle from Strong. We heard a radio add about their sportwagons which sounded great. We reached out and were contacted via email by a salesman named Andy Carr. We were excited to make an appointment to look at their vehicles and learn more about their "great" pricing. I replied to Andy's email and then a half hour later was able to take a break at work and tried calling. Like I said, we were excited. When I spoke with Andy on the phone I had a less than pleasant experience. He was rude and very unhelpful. He made sure I knew that he was busy and my potential business was an inconvenience for him. I sent an email to him and to the company after the call letting them know how displeased I was with their service. I was immediately contacted by their director of sales and told how sorry they were for my two bad experiences. I told them that I was willing to give it a third try if I could be set up with someone who would actually help and try to earn my business. I was set up with a salesman named Tony. I set up an appointment to meet with him, but before I went up, I wanted to learn a little more about their pricing. I tried long and hard to get actual information about what I would be charged out the door with Strong, but it was in vain. I was told that there were 5 payment options but the only way I could find out what they were if I came in. I live about 40 minutes away from Strong and was not going to waste my time and money just to get baited and switched when I went in for an appointment. I decided to call to a few other dealerships and got in contact with Bryce at Ken Garff VW in Orem. He was honest and to the point from the get-go. He told me over the phone the price I would pay out the door. The price was also better than Strong's. I called Strong to cancel my appointment with them and let them know I would be going with Ken Garff. When I told Strong's salesman Tony this, he assured me that he could beat Ken Garff's price by $300. I asked him how he could get to that pricing and received a very vague answer of how it would just come off the sale price. My wife and I decided to go test drive the sportswagon at Ken Garff first and then we were planning to go up to Strong just for fun to see what they could actually offer. In the middle of our test drive, we got a call from Tony stating that he could not beat Ken Garff's price and HE canceled the appointment on us... We bought the sportswagon from Ken Garff when we were done with our test drive. Again, we were serious about buying a car and Strong made it clear that they did not want our business. I am glad that was the case though because purchasing with Bryce at Ken Garff VW was the best car buying experience I have had yet. It was fast, upfront, easy, and painless. Go with a company that wants to earn your business, not one who that makes you feel like an inconvinence. ***Note: Strong Volkswagen's lifetime warranty is a scam. It is only valid if Strong does ALL of your maintenance and repairs. This means you will pay their outrageous parts and labor fees for things like brakes and oil changes just to maintain the warranty. If you wrench on your own cars, their warranty is definitely not worth it. More
