I recently purchased a preowned 2016 GMC Yukon with 65,000 miles from this dealership for $33,000. The car was delivered to my home in NH, and I registered it. Over a holiday weekend, my family and I embarked on a road trip to PA to visit friends. During the journey, I noticed that the Yukon was bouncing and had a stiff ride, but I dismissed it as normal. I was reassured by the salesman that the vehicle had just been serviced and was in excellent condition. However, when I took it for inspection in New Hampshire, it failed due to a blown front strut leaking oil onto the braking system and a blown lower ball joint. The inspector informed me that it was unsafe to drive due to the oil getting onto the brakes. There is also a metal-on-metal grinding sound from the transmission. This was a deeply shocking and upsetting revelation, especially considering I had just driven 800 miles with my family in the car. I made an appointment with the dealership, and after enduring a 4-hour wait, I was informed by the sales manager, Mr. Ricky Pereira, that they would not cover the safety issues. He casually mentioned that he knew about the blown strut and had it on his report, which he conveniently didn't show me when I purchased the vehicle. I had specifically asked for the CarFax, which the salesman provided, but I was not shown the dealership's in-house safety reports for pre-owned vehicles. When I confronted Mr. Pereira about this, he callously stated that I should have specifically requested the in-house records. I find this to be a clear case of unfair and deceptive customer service. He also had the audacity to say that the dealership wouldn't honor the New Hampshire safety inspection process because he couldn't know all of New Hampshire's safety checks. In my opinion, and the state of New Hampshire's opinion, selling a vehicle with oil on the brakes and a blown strut and ball joint is not safe. As a result of this ordeal, I am now the owner of a vehicle that I can't legally drive without spending thousands of dollars to fix. This situation has not only put a significant financial burden on me but, more importantly, has jeopardized my family's safety due to the dealership's negligence. It's disheartening to experience such dishonesty and lack of accountability from this dealership. If you're reading this, I strongly urge you to steer clear of this dealership and deal with Rick Pereira. I will update this post daily until the issue is resolved.
