Dropped my truck off almost a week ago to get its 90k-100k service. I knew the transmission was acting funny and tailgate not working properly and wanted those checked out as well. I have only had th 90k-100k service. I knew the transmission was acting funny and tailgate not working properly and wanted those checked out as well. I have only had the truck for a year, its a 2019 and only had 63k miles on it when I purchased it. I told the service rep, I'm pretty sure its still under warranty because I bought one when I bought the truck. She told me no, the warranty went out at 63k miles. 1. that doesn't make any sense, never seen a warranty go out at 63k miles and 2. I told her "no, that's how many miles were on it when I bought it." Never got a real answer. I also told her I did not need an oil change or tires rotated as I literally just bought new tires the week prior, had them mounted, balanced, and alignment completed. Oil still had 65% life left and I do those things myself. YET, I am still being charged for tire rotation and oil change. In regards to my tailgate not working. They are charging me over $300 for a tailgate actuator, when the one that is in there works just fine...how do I know that...because I bought it and replaced the factory one that wasn't working previously. I told the service rep, I have checked all the relays, fuses, connections, and actuator and that it has to be something in the computer. I am mechanically inclined, have my own shop, and feel I am being taken advantage of. I can't believe they are trying to pull this crap. The most infuriating thing is the extreme lack of communication. Dropped my truck off at 9a.m. and I had to call back at 5p.m. just to get an update. I went back up there at 5p.m. to get stuff out of my truck and it was just sitting in a parking lot behind the shop like it hasn't even been touched. I mean what did it do for 7 hours? Now my truck has been there almost a week, still with no update, no offer for a loaner vehicle, nothing. I shouldn't be the one calling or going up there to get updates. More
I went in and let them know what was most important in my purchase. The Manager's worked hard to get me what I needed. They were very honest and upfront with me. I will definitely go to SONS for all my buyin purchase. The Manager's worked hard to get me what I needed. They were very honest and upfront with me. This place should be called Clown Show Cadillac. In 30yrs of buying cars, this is the most unmotivated and unprofessional sales team I have dealt with. The communication is poor and the left hand do In 30yrs of buying cars, this is the most unmotivated and unprofessional sales team I have dealt with. The communication is poor and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. This place is not serious about selling cars. Beware on the SONS Advantage. When you read this dealers website, they claim to not charge any unnecessary fees. Every sale includes the SONS Advantage at an additional $676, whether you want it or not. It is an option that is not available from Cadillac which makes it an unnecessary fee added by the dealership to increase profit margin. Not to mention their Doc fee is almost double than Atlanta dealerships. The sales team lacks motivation and does not communicate well or in a timely manner. The first sales person I dealt with tried to tell me I had to trade in with them and finance through them in order to get the discount (I have it in writing). After 48hrs of no response from her, I got salesman #2. I sent him my trade in pictures and info and he never responded (until 10 days later asking if I was still interested). While waiting for a response from #2, this place passes me off to the #3 man, the sales manager, and this time I go 72hrs without a response - he is the manager! After several unreturned phone calls and emails, I finally speak to the general manager 11 days after initial contact. His stance was that even though SONS claims to not charge unnecessary fees, the SONS Advantage was necessary and would not lower the cost of the vehicle or add something to the sale to compensate for it (tinted windows like what is pictured on the Cadillac website for this vehicle). It blows my mind that this dealership is willing to keep paying the per diem for a car that is not selling rather than cut their ridiculous doc fee or SONS Advantage fee and move it off the lot - that's $1400 of dealer fluff added to the bill between those 2 fees. All I asked for was $500 tinted windows. Their 10% discount quickly dwindled once you started tacking on the erroneous fees. SONS Advantage was the deal breaker More
I wanted to do everything online and, on the phone, so I tried to order the car directly from the GM - Cadillac site. They recommended that I reach out to 4 dealerships that had a similar car of the one I b tried to order the car directly from the GM - Cadillac site. They recommended that I reach out to 4 dealerships that had a similar car of the one I build. Sons of Chevrolet Cadillac was the closest one from Atlanta, where I live. I sent them an e-mail straight from the Cadillac site and one of the salespersons contacted me the very next day. His name is Keith. He was easy to work with; just a very personable person. I ended up purchasing a 2024 Cadillac XT4 Sport. I've always purchased new cars and I've owned 6 so far. This was my very first American car. The previous 5 have been 2 Toyotas, 2 Hondas, and 1 Acura. So, the car was delivered to me on December 30th of 2023. Upon inspecting it, I found 2 scratches (1 was over 3 inches). We called the dealership and Keith told me they would have it fixed. I know, I should have gotten something in writing. My defense is that the entire process so far was seamless, and Keith came across so trustworthy, that I felt I could trust him. Feel free to call me stupid, like my co-workers! I want to warn people not do business with these dishonest people. They have managed to ruin the joy of the purchase. I will be warning people on every site that I can leave a review on this dealership. This will by my 1st of many reviews. If I can save 1 person from their dishonesty, then I will chuck this down as lesson learn. More
We visited SONS Chevrolet Cadillac in search of a used vehicle and had intentions of making a purchase today. However, during negotiations, which we are entitled too, the sales manager basically came out vehicle and had intentions of making a purchase today. However, during negotiations, which we are entitled too, the sales manager basically came out with an arrogant demeanor and pretty much told us we could leave. During his 30 second rant, he never introduce himself nor did he even give us a chance to speak. He mentioned how long the vehicle had been on the lot and advised us to continue our search. Whereas, we could have settled and made the purchase but because the vehicle was used, we would have been out of an additional $2k-$3k getting the paint redone. If I am making a purchase, I want to make sure I have made that clear with my negotiations. Byron the salesman was wonderful. He took the time to answer any question we had and was very knowledgeable. I will not spend my money where I am treated as if I am no one point blank! The unknown sales manager made that very clear. I wrote a very negative review of this dealership recently. The GM has now reached out to me, offered a loaner, and is fervently working towards a solution to my problem. Buyer Beware! I want to share my recent experience at SONS CHEVROLET of Columbus. I will begin by stating that I am an active duty Soldier stationed on Fort Be I want to share my recent experience at SONS CHEVROLET of Columbus. I will begin by stating that I am an active duty Soldier stationed on Fort Benning with over 20 years of time in service. Part of the reason I chose to give SONS CHEVROLET my business was because they consider themselves the 'Military Headquarters of Columbus'. I had hoped that because of this, I would be treated with respect and fairness. On 26SEP2022, I purchased a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder with 33,800 miles from SONS for $31,000. On 30NOV2022, the vehicle was making strange noises from the engine, so I attempted to drive it to Columbus Nissan HQ. I made it halfway there and lost power. I had it towed. At Nissan, they told me it would take 24-48 hours to diagnose. The following day, they called and let me know that there was no compression in Bank Two and told me I would need a new engine for $16,000. I immediately called SONS CHEVROLET and was told not to worry, the vehicle still had a Power Trains Warranty. I called Nissan and informed them. They got back to me a week later and told me the warranty had been denied. The reason? The engine was not original. In fact, it was not even a Nissan engine. All of this was new information to me. SONS CHEVROLET had certainly not mentioned to me that the two year old car I was purchasing did not have the original engine. I bought it 'As Is' and did not specifically ask if the engine was original. I just assumed that a two year old vehicle with 33,800 miles that I paid $31,000 for would have the original engine. Or at least that if it did not, the dealership would let me know this pertinent detail... As of now, my vehicle has sat at Nissan HQ for 20 days as I continue to make payments on it. My wife has been making multiple trips to Fort Benning to drop off and pick me up from work. SONS CHEVROLET has refused to provide us with a loaner as we work through this situation. After initially telling me that they will look in to it, SONS CHEVROLET has now refused to respond to emails, phone calls or direct visits. When I stopped by during my lunch hour last Friday, I was told that the person I needed to see was not available but would be sure to call me back. No calls... I do not know if it is illegal to sell a pre-owned vehicle without disclosing that it does not have the original engine. It is certainly a shady way of doing business in my opinion. I am also extremely disappointed with SONS CHEVROLET's refusal to even discuss the issue or offer any help or support whatsoever. This is how the 'Military Headquarters' dealership of Columbus treats active duty Soldiers. I would hate to see what they do for everyone else. Be careful when dealing with SONS CHEVROLET. Randi B. has had zero contact with me while my vehicle was in for repair. I was told when I called on Monday 19th that my parts were in and my repair would ta has had zero contact with me while my vehicle was in for repair. I was told when I called on Monday 19th that my parts were in and my repair would take ONE DAY. I dropped my car off Tuesday around 9:30 AM and no one contacted me that day. I called later in the day to ask the status and was told "Randi is at lunch she will call you back when she returns." I did not get a call back Tuesday to tell me the delay. I called Wednesday around noon and was told the same thing. Randi is at lunch she will call you back. I called AGAIN on Wednesday at 2pm and apparently Randi must get a 2 hour lunch break because she was still at lunch at 2 pm. It was not until Thursday did I get any type of contact from someone at Sons. I did not get a call as I had requested more than once. I got a text message from some automated service saying my car would be ready to pick up Friday at 4 pm. I was informed via this automated text service there was a delay getting my parts even though on Monday I was told the parts are already in. I called just now at 3 pm to ask if my car would be ready as expected from the automated system quoting 4 pm pickup time. I was told NO it will in fact NOT be ready. I asked why I was not given a call or update when my car would not be ready at the stated pickup time and was told "You estimator Randi is not here today" SO essentially no one looked at my repair at all today to check on it and since Randi was out and did not tell me ahead of time the delay I will now be without my vehicle for an entire WEEK when I was told a simple one day repair. If it was going to take longer than one day I would like to know so I could have arranged a rental car instead of being jerked around all week without answers by your staff. More
