DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY from this dealership no matter what. They are thieving lying crooks last month we bought a car the day after buying the car we noticed issues with the torque converter, tried to ta what. They are thieving lying crooks last month we bought a car the day after buying the car we noticed issues with the torque converter, tried to take it to dixon ford to see what they were going to do considering by Illinois law there is a 15 day power train warranty and they by law we’re liable for the repair of the vehicle. They refused to take my car in and or look at it I went to multiple mechanics on my own all of which confirmed that it was a torque converter issue and it is a known issue with this make and model of car. I went back again and asked them whether or not they would fix the car or even look at it they again refused stating “we lost our xxx on your trade in and will not be looking at your car or fixing it you should just take this as a win, you guys won” what we won was an up to 10k dollar repair for which they are liable to repair and refuse they also refused to take their piece of crap back and give us our original trade in back they then told us we were not welcome at the dealership and not to call them anymore because they will not be fixing the car they sold us. Every person in that place from the top down is corrupt they are no better than common thieves swindling people so they can push unsafe cars out onto the road and make as much money possible. There is a reason they have a D- on BBB they are criminals from the owner to the sales associates they should not have a license to sell vehicles and hopefully once all is said and done they will lose their license to sell vehicles. They sold a family of 3 a vehicle that is unsafe to be operated knowing that we had a 1 year old and another on the way they put the lives of 3 people and an unborn child at risk to raise their bottom dollar. They are monsters and absolutely abhorrent people and overall as a business. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR HERE RUN AWAY DONT WALK any positive comments or reviews of this place are only their because they basically beg you to leave them a good review after they get done screwing you over. They’re the worst kind of people and don’t deserve your business or anyone’s business please save yourself and stay away from this despicable disgusting excuse of a business. You’d be better off slamming your head in the refrigerator door you’ll have a better experience with that. More
Me and my Husband purchased a car from them back in September. The sales professional was very courteous and friendly. The sales manager Zach advised us that they don’t sell junk cars. We had the car, September. The sales professional was very courteous and friendly. The sales manager Zach advised us that they don’t sell junk cars. We had the car, made one payment and had electrical issues that were going to cost close to $1000 to repair. When I originally took the car to get checked out after I noticed the power steering going on and it gf the sales rep advised me they would take care of us and we scheduled an appointment. Much to my frustration they told us we had to pay for the inspection. I called Sterling Chevy and they got me in quickly and saved me over $100. After I found out I was having problems with the car that only continued to get worse (steering wheel was shaking pretty bad) so called the manager Zach and Drillon for 3 days. They refused to return my calls. So I left a google review. Finally by Friday I was tired of waiting for a call back from the manager so I called Sterling Chevy and left a message with the owner. Not too much after Zach calls me back being highly aggressive. Says we are no longer welcome to set a foot at dfvw and he would call sterling Chevy to have them take over the car problem. Well Zach never did. Sterling Chevy ended up helping us tremendously. I will say never buy a car from Dixon Ford Volkswagen. The sales managers are extremely unprofessional and refuse to help you if they sell you a garbage car. They sold my parents a garbage car as well. The van they bought from them was completely rusted out where the engine is housed. Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More
Recurrent issues within days after repeat trips to the service department. This has happened with more than 1 vehicle. They report the "new" problem was not something they worked on. Bought a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 from here and let me tell you this is the absolute best experience I have had buying a car in my life. First off the car was immaculate and absolutely perfectly well maintained a this is the absolute best experience I have had buying a car in my life. First off the car was immaculate and absolutely perfectly well maintained and they did an absolutely fantastic job showing me the car and making sure I was happy with the experience. I absolutely love this car and the experience I had with the team there was icing on the cake as not only was it an easy purchase but it was truly a fun one as well! I dealt with both Zach and Alex for this car purchase mainly and Zach made sure I was well informed on the vehicle and did not try to pressure me during the experience at all. The car itself was truly immaculate for the year and it was clear the team at Dixon took care to make sure this vehicle was show ready and needed nothing. These are hard cars to come by and even harder to find somewhere that wants to make sure they are well taken care of before releasing them to a new owner so I very much appreciate the fact that they took the care it deserved to make it an unbelievable find and purchase. Alex did the paperwork for me and gave me a great deal on a warranty! An affordable warranty on a 1998 car and even moreso a Jaguar is absolutely unheard of but they did not disappoint. Not only was he detailed and polite during the whole experience but he knows how to make the process quick and fun. Truly was smiling ear to ear throughout the whole experience. I cannot say enough about my experience and the team at Dixon Ford VW. It is a small town dealer and they truly know how to take care of a customer throughout the entire process. Thank you Dixon Ford VW and especially Zach and Alex for an absolutely unbelievable car buying experience and for taking such good care of this vehicle when you took it in. More
Customer care was great until it came to the rude finance manager. On top of that I am in a 17 thousand dollar loan plus interest in a car that shakes violently. manager. On top of that I am in a 17 thousand dollar loan plus interest in a car that shakes violently. More
My son and I went into the dealership to look at a vehicle he was interested in. My son and the salesman went on the test drive and my son said during the test drive the salesman was already pushing h vehicle he was interested in. My son and the salesman went on the test drive and my son said during the test drive the salesman was already pushing him to purchase the vehicle and get everything done that evening. My son really wanted my husband to look it over before he committed to the purchase but the salesman tried feeding us with a line of xxxxxxxxx that they had someone else coming in that night from IA and that my son had to make his decision that night. I really wanted to tell the salesman that "you go to xxxx for lying" though I kept my mouth shut. My son really liked the vehicle so he committed. My son did already have financing through our bank so we advised them off that and told them that our finance rep was not sure if he would be able to get the loan finalized on Friday or not. The salesman keep pushing and saying why can't they and really pushing us! I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!! They are way to pushy, I have never experienced anything like this and have bought many vehicles in the past. This was an absolute awful experience especially for a young man trying to purchase his first vehicle on his own!! More
I don't recommend. Before I bought anything, I noticed a few red flags. 1) they wouldn't tell me the price of any of the cars when I asked. 2) they quoted me for a car Before I bought anything, I noticed a few red flags. 1) they wouldn't tell me the price of any of the cars when I asked. 2) they quoted me for a car and when I got home I checked online to see what the price was which was significantly lower than what they quoted me so they were trying to sell me a higher price for a used car 3) I was getting steered toward a car I wasn't interested in & they had to JUMP START the battery of that car in front of me cuz it died and wouldn't start. 4) they continued to push me to look at other vehicles that I was not interested in especially after I said I wanted to leave and think on it therefore they had me wait and look at these vehicles for about 20 or so minutes which I refused to test drive cuz I came there for a specific car that I wanted to think about. 5) they kept asking over and over again what it'll take for me to buy the car, pushing me to make a purchase when I wasn't quite ready. With that being said, I made the biggest mistake ever by coming back to their lot to check out the original vehicle I was interested in because I thought about getting that one. They then told me that they don't recommend it since apparently it had issues with it where I then asked to see a different version of that car that they told me they had on their lot but instead of showing me that car, they showed me a different one which I admit, was a decent car, but a complete downgrade from my current car, so I was not quite comfortable or convinced I wanted it. From there, I continued to tell the dealer that I was not comfortable or sure I actually wanted that car. He continued to reassure me that everything was great and I was making a great choice and continued to reassure and push me to continue with the sale. I was hesitant but I unfortunately trusted him. He told me that I might have felt that way with my other car, too, and the feeling will go away and I'll love it. Well, I ended up going home with it and maybe a couple hours later I knew for a fact that I HATED IT and I made the biggest financial mistake of my life by trusting these selfish people. I emailed the manager and the dealer that night to let them know immediately that it was not the right fit for me and asked what options I have. Of course I never heard back given it was the weekend. First thing Monday morning, I went right in there and tried to explain to them that this was not the car for me and I was not happy with it and wanted to know what I could do. The manager then BLAMED ME for wasting their time by checking out all these cars (even though they were the ones pushing these cars as I didn't want to look at them) and proceeds to say I'm xxxx out of luck basically and the only option I had was to trade it back in for a different xxxxty vehicle that they had. So I asked if I could get my car back. I bought the car on Saturday, they're closed Sunday and I went in immediately Monday mind you. They told me it was impossible to get my car back and to undo the deal as they need to make a profit. The managers exact words, in fact. So we asked to see numbers to buy my car back from them. The guy then charged me a BRAND NEW CAR PRICE FOR MY OWN USED VEHICLE THAT I HAD IN MY NAME NO MORE THAN 48 HRS PRIOR. So I basically bought my car back for the exact new car price as I bought it a few years ago except now I have a higher payment as I lost all my money in the purchase of the other car I did not want but felt pressured to buy. They treated me like crap by blaming me for all of this even though we did NOT go in there blaming them by any means. They also treated it like a new car purchase and told me they took it to detailing. They literally maybe only vacuumed the car maybe. After all this trouble they couldn't even bother to clean the car like they said they were and claimed we were waiting for that to be done but there was mud in the car and fur still. Every car is also on E so prepare to fill the tanks up after any purchase. They don't do it for you at all. No integrity or respect from them. Don't waste your time. They only care about getting your money then they don't care about keeping your business at all!!! Very rude, not helpful, and pushy! More
