Chris was great to work with and offered great options between leasing and purchasing a new minivan for my family. He was understanding of our financing concerns and flexible throughout the process. Don't even bother reading this review, just go ahead and read the "response from owner" that will show up below trying to either divert blame every step of the way or say something like " We apologize f read the "response from owner" that will show up below trying to either divert blame every step of the way or say something like " We apologize for your poor experience with our dealership, Chuck. We never want our customers to feel this way. Please reach out to priorityrep@priorityauto.com with further concerns regarding your experience - thank you." The SERVICE CENTER of Honda Priority Chesapeake VA was dishonest, scamming the elderly. In early November 2023, my husband took his 3,000 miles 2020 Honda Accord Sport (yes, only 3,000 miles) for a FREE dishonest, scamming the elderly. In early November 2023, my husband took his 3,000 miles 2020 Honda Accord Sport (yes, only 3,000 miles) for a FREE INSPECTION as offered by Priority. This dealer has an ART to trick a 76 years old man to believe that "Both front & back brakes were WORN OUT on a 3,000 miles car !!!". Their technique of TRICKING ELDERLY was skillful: First, they told my husband that the pad & rotor of FRONT brake were bad "barely made the inspection", he was told the price was $430. Of course, when the word INSPECTION mentioned, my husband freaked out and gave them permission to fix it. Then 45 minutes later, service rep came back with another bad news: "pad & rotor of the BACK brake need changed as well". Please note that this time, she did not mention INSPECTION, so my husband said NO. Then the car got done, with the price tag of $900 ???, she said that "BOTH BRAKES (pads and rotors each) were replaced". My husband said "I did not authorize on the back brake!!!". At the end, they charged for the front brake $430, which was authorized. There are two issues here: 1. Both brakes, pads & rotors were worn out on a 3,000 mile of the car? There was no recall of brake on 2020 Honda Accord Sport? 2. After filing a complaint with Attorney General of VA, we were informed by Chesapeake Honda "as of June 12, 2023, Priority neither owned or operated the subject dealership..." If they think this will get them off the hook, they are mistaken: We WILL pursue further this matter further to stop Priority Honda Chesapeake abusing the elderly, scamming clients like this. The war is NOT over with us yet. More
I went to this dealership and started working with Christopher Mcelligott and then Tien Lien. Over the phone, I had already informed Chris that I had done my homework and research and to please inform Christopher Mcelligott and then Tien Lien. Over the phone, I had already informed Chris that I had done my homework and research and to please inform your sales manager of this as well. Long story short, while at the dealership, Chris came back to his desk with Tien with an OTD price of $40k for a 2024 Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid. While looking at the document, I quickly noticed the large sum for their Priority Owner Advantage to be $3,105.00. I immediately was disappointed to see them try to add this ridiculous unnecessary dealer add-on charge and make it sound like it was difficult for them to remove this charge. When they did remove it the both of them tried to make me think that they were helping me by saying that "we have removed the $3,105.00 (Priority Owner Advantage) and you are now saving $3k." I was completely irate because I am well aware that certain kind of sales people (immoral and unjust) will try to add dealership add-ons to the OTD price and then remove them to make the customer think that they are savings thousands of dollars when in actuality they are not. I was not only irate but also offended by their attempt to rip me off for thousands of dollars. I am not sure if they both thought that since I am a female it would be easy to for them to scam me and possibly commit a form of auto dealer fraud. I am happy to say that it did not work out for them because I left the dealership and explained to them why they lost out on a well over $30,000.00 deal for purchasing a vehicle. Overall, I highly recommended that you DO NOT do any business with Priority Honda Chesapeake especially if you are considered to be more susceptible to accepting faulty deals, from their perspective (example: female of any age, senior citizens, etc). I am working on filing a complaint through Virginia's Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB) with the purpose to help prevent these kinds of sales people and dealerships from treating their customers this way. Buying the car was the easy part, it's the inspections that will get you. I brought my car in for an inspection and the only thing I changed on it was adding rain guards and door handle covers. They faile that will get you. I brought my car in for an inspection and the only thing I changed on it was adding rain guards and door handle covers. They failed me for brakes and rotors that I knew were a little low anyway but also for my brake lights not being the "right ones". I bought my car this way so I wasn't going to pay for them to change out the lights. They also quoted me $900 for new pads and rotors on the front even though they passed inspection. The full pads and rotors set for front and rear are maybe a little over $200. So I'll be buying them myself and changing them to save $900. This is what a "free" inspection gets you when you buy a car here. They also need to keep the car another day because they don't have the rotors in stock. Also, last time I left after having my car checked out, one of my tires was filled about 10psi over what they should be. The front desk people are nice though. More
We’ve lived in the Hampton Roads area since 2001 and have purchased at least 10 vehicles at Priority dealerships over that time. Priority used to seem like one of the more reputable dealers in the area, but purchased at least 10 vehicles at Priority dealerships over that time. Priority used to seem like one of the more reputable dealers in the area, but looks like that has changed. Now I see the Market Adjustments, LoJack, Nitrogen in the tires, etc., which are all just gimmicks to rip off consumers. The good news is, there are other dealers in this area who have not crossed over to the dark side. My recommendation is that you stay away from Priority dealerships and shop around until you find one that doesn’t use the predatory practices they’ve decided to institute. More
