*1956 Chevrolet Nomad 2-Door Wagon*® Built between 1955 and 1957, the âTri-Fiveâ Chevrolet Bel Airs are some of the most evocative American cars of all time and have long stood as a must-have car in any collection. Offered in multiple bodystyles including two and four door sedans, the pillarless âSport Sedan,â convertible and one of the most unique - the Nomad two-door station wagon. In 1956, there were seven different models of Bel Air available, with the Nomad being the most expensive and thus, the rarest with just 7,886 units produced. As one of only a few two-door wagons ever produced by a manufacturer, these cars have become quite sought-after and a great basis for hot rodding.® This 1956 Chevrolet Nomad is finished in Tropical Turquoise with an India Ivory side stripe and tailgate lid. As a 1956, this can be identified by its full-length painted side stripe and full-width front grille. This example received a mild-resto-mod treatment, keeping it largely standard visually, but improving the driving experience underneath. Under previous ownership, the car received a re-paint in its original colors, which was carried out by someone who was an expert at paint and body. As you move around the car, you notice exceptionally nice panel gaps on each panel and the large flat surfaces are laser straight on the entire vehicle. The chrome is believed to be original but still shines immaculately. This Nomad sits on a set of 17-inch 5-spoke Billet Specialties aluminum wheels wrapped in new radial tires, which are placed in front of front power disc brakes with drums at the rear.® Open the door and youâre met by a fantastic turquoise interior with the dashboard paint-matched to the exterior along with the steering wheel and column. Additionally, the front and rear bench seats are upholstered with a combination of turquoise vinyl and gray fabric. From the driverâs seat, you notice some subtle interior upgrades including an updated gauge cluster in the original shape, with a speedometer, tachometer temperature and fuel gauges all integrated, while a classic looking head unit with modern internals sits to the right of it. Beneath that, vents for the ice cold air conditioning and, importantly if youâre planning on bringing the family with you - seatbelts.® Under the hood sits a 350 cubic inch TPI V8 with fuel injection which adds reliability and performance over the original V8. This engine is essentially stock, save for a set of headers which lead to a true dual exhaust system that gives the car a fantastic sound. To ensure this car was a dependable driver, an oversized aluminum radiator with overflow tank and a pair of electric cooling fans were fitted which keeps the car cool on even the hottest days. Power is sent through a 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Prior to sale, this car was thoroughly serviced by Park Place Ltd. including a fluid service, fresh spark plug wires, a new battery, some new polyurethane suspension bushi
