*1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16*® Designed as Mercedesâs first compact class vehicle, the 190E - known internally as the W201- offered buyers near-S Class levels of refinement, in a car that was easy to park in town and offered at a far more affordable price. This car also provided an excellent basis for a car Mercedes could take racing, and in working with famed race engine builder Cosworth, developed a car that could compete with great success in the German Touring Car Championship or DTM.® This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 is a striking example that shows just 30,580 miles at the time of cataloging. Presenting in highly original shape throughout, this car was imported to the United States from Japan in the late 1990s and has been kept at a very high level since. Finished in the legendary shade of Smoke Silver Metallic, the 2.3-16 is immediately identifiable thanks to its unique bodykit with its front air dam, side skirts, fender flares, rear diffuser and decklid spoiler. This example benefits from the more attractive and useful Euro glass headlights, and sits on a set of 15-inch Gullideckel alloy wheels.® On the inside, black leather wraps the Recaro built interior with front sport seats and special sculpted rear seats with no center seat. Although this was designed as a homologation race car, it was not de-contented and still offered plenty of great comfort features like a Becker stereo head unit (which has been modified with Bluetooth capabilities), power adjustable front seats, a driverâs side air bag, cruise control and self leveling rear suspension.® Under the hood sits the famous Cosworth developed 2.3-liter inline-4. Where Cosworthâs racing experience comes into play is with the DOHC cylinder head which allows for better flow thanks to four valves per cylinder. Power is quoted at 167 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque and this is an engine that loves to rev and be at the top of the powerband. Unlike most Mercedes which are equipped with an automatic gearbox, this 190E is fitted with a 5-speed manual with a dog-leg first gear - owing to its racing heritage. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. The car benefits from recent servicing at Park Place and is in fantastic driving condition.® A true legend of German racing history, the 190E 2.3-16 is a homologation car that you can drive every day, offering a great driving experience and bank-vault like quality. Offered in excellent condition, you will be hard pressed to find a better 190E 2.3-16 than this!® *Key Features* * Cosworth Developed 2.3-Liter Inline-4 * 167 Horsepower/166 Lb-Ft of Torque * Dual Overhead Cams w/16-Valves * 5-Speed Manual Gearbox * Dogleg First Gear * Limited Slip Differential * Self Leveling Rear Suspension * Recaro Designed Interior * Unique Body Kit * Becker Stereo * Bluetooth Upgrade * Highly Original Example® *Additional Information* * Original Sales Brochure * Ownerâs Manual * Park Place Service In
