I am motivated to write a poor review based on a more recent experience with this dealership and a different service advisor. After spending a few thousand dollars on an older used car this past winter (with Brian), we noticed the engine light had come on this spring. To make the story short, this dealer was unwilling to help unless there were dollars in it for them (i.e, charging diagnostic fees instead of just helping us) though they knew they were working with a collage-age boy trying to minimize expenses. I spoke to the GM who told me that it is fair to charge a diagnostic fee when we are not going to perform the work (or not with them), despite the fact that we have spent thousands there over the past couple years of owning the car. He said that its normal in the industry. So over the past couple of months since this bad experience, 5 other friends and family cars were taken to different dealerships (American, German, Japanese - all local) with only the intention of asking them to do a diagnostic check. Every single one of them did the computer check, which took 15-20 minutes each and none of them charged us - instead giving us a smile. Bad on you Mini of Montgomery for not paying attention to the people by focusing on long-term relationships. These five other dealerships will get business from me and my large circle of friends and family, as will anyone else who cares about relationships, and you will not. My college son likes his Mini and will not buy another from you, nor will his circle of friends. So, when you look at your financial results over the next couple of years and wonder why you're not doing better, perhaps you can re-read this review. More

From the moment I came to this dealer, Stephen, the sales person was great. Not only did I want to find a car I liked but a good dealership as this will be a place I will go for regular service. Everytime I come in for service - I feel like I'm in a car commercial ... The place is clean as a whistle and the staff is friendly and helpful. Jaimie in service can get my car looked and fixed faster that my BMW dealer would take just to check me in and get me an estimate. The first time I came in was just a few months after I got the car and was devastated that some was tapped the back bumper.. Jamie looked at it said we could buff it out...in minutes it was good as new and no charge. Every time I come in for something - no matter how small - I'm treated like a valued customer. When I come in for service Stephen in sales always chats me up and asks me detailed questions about my work. He remembers where I work and is truly interested I me as a person - I have even told him - I keep cars a long time so don't expect another sales in a while - lol. It would be easy for him to move to the next sales. I'm sold on this brand ... And this dealer ! Great job all the way around! Ron More

When the car was delivered, I signed the paperwork saying it looked fine. Noticed after delivery (had not driven the car yet) that the tire pressure was low in right rear tire as the sign came on. I thought it may have been during the long distance delivery. Filled up the tire the first time. But noticed that the tire kept getting deflated. Took to a local dealership and found that it had a nail in it, so tire keeps getting deflated slowly. Reported the problem to MINI of Montgomery, who is now completely shirking responsibility. 1. They claim all their cars are inspected before sale, but they have no paperwork to show that the tires were inspected right before the car was shipped. 2. They claim that because I signed the delivery form and accepted the car, I am responsible for accepting the car "as is". This is a fraudulent approach - a typical car buyer will not be able to spot a small nail in the tire while purchasing. Nor will anyone think of checking tire pressure before accepting delivery of a brand new car. 3. When I called to report the problem and sought to resolve with them, they were exceptionally rude, especially for a MINI dealership. Replacing a tire is a tiny expense compared to the amount we paid for the car and all the bells & whistles, especially when its due to an oversight on part of the dealership. But now they are completely denying responsibility. I have been a happy and loyal MINI owner for over a decade, but the dishonest business practices of MINI of Montgomery County have been extremely frustrating. More

Scared though of the financing Errol assured me financing and sold me on purchasing a newer mini and with confidence of not having mechanical issues. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD! This is the second time I brought my car in for a recall issue and last time it took a week and a half (HIGHLY doubtful my car would be done by Tuesday). I left work to go out of my way to drop my car off. I get there and they tell me they cannot give me a rental car until Tuesday because the car may be done Monday and request that I pay for taxis everywhere and they will reimburse me later. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING?????? They were requesting I taxi back to work in Rockville, taxi home to Tysons corner, and taxi to BWI airport and then taxi back on Monday evening from BWI to Tysons corner. Those taxi fares alone would well exceed the amount it would even cost for a rental car. If it was going to be an issue to give me a rental car in the first place I would have gotten service done another weekend. THAT IS NOT what they told me on the phone when I was scheduling the service request and asked if it would be a problem. I have used their rental cars in the past and they are filthy so I wanted to avoid that at all costs. Dropping my car off on a weekend when I was out of town and not needing a car seemed to be an ideal option. Also, when I say filthy, I mean there were used q-tips in the door panels, stains and spills, and it smelled. I will never get another MINI again. More

After having my new car, my husband called Sirius Satellite Radio and they advised him that my free subscription was up in June of 2015. Since my sticker on the window said "Satellite Radio w/1 year subscription, I knew they were mistaken, so I called and emailed my sales associate Jennifer B. When I received her response, I was shocked to hear The 1 year Satellite radio is initially issued with the vehicle, so in your case the 1 year subscription has expired." My response was that as a courtesy and to stand by their sticker, they should honor what the sticker said. They refused. Not so much as a call either, all through email. No, "I'm sorry Ms. Clark let me see what we can do" or lets try to work this out, nothing. It was basically, my tough luck. My sales associate Jennifer was very good. BY NOT HONORING THE STICKER, THEY PROVIDED THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VALUE OF A CUSTOMER EVER. Prior to this incident I would have recommended this dealership, but after this treatment and lack of understanding of a mistake made solely by their company, I'd say run as fast as you can to another MINI dealership. After months of searching for an SUV, we ended up buying a used vehicle, not a Cooper, at MINI MoCo on Memorial We were in and out within 2.5 hours! After months of searching for an SUV, we ended up buying a used vehicle, not a Cooper, at MINI MoCo on Memorial Day. We were happy to know the showroom was open on a holiday. We called ahead to have the vehicle available when we arrived. An hour and a half later, we arrived at the dealer and were promptly greeted with a smile. Within minutes I was test driving the vehicle with Errol, one of the nicest sales associates. We returned to the dealer and had a hassle and haggle-free deal with the humble manager. He assured us we were receiving the best offer within a 150-mile radius and showed us the comparable. We agreed on a final sale price and the last stop was financing with Umar. Young, funny guy who was trying to make it all worth us forking over thousands of dollars for a new used vehicle! We all had a few chuckles. In summary, we had a very pleasant experience with MINI of MoCo and would purchase from them again. From the time we arrived to the time we drove off the lot, we were promptly helped with a smile, despite it being a holiday. No one griped about working that day! But, it always helps them and yourself to do your own research on the type of vehicle you want and at what price point you can afford. Call ahead to let them know you're coming so they can have a chance to get the vehicle you want ready for you. It helped us! More
