Our Humble Beginnings
In 1956 a gallon of gas was only 19.9¢ when George Dodd took over the Texaco station that would form the beginnings of the family business known as Dodd RV, a top selling Virginia RV Dealer.
George had a gift for working with people. Customers just naturally sensed that this was a man they could trust. He worked hard to build a reputation for honesty and fairness as he expanded into used car sales and eventually RVs.
Today, Dodd RV carries New RVs and Used RVs including Motor Homes, Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Toy Haulers, Folding Pop-Up Campers and Expandables. We provide a full service operation for RV Sales, RV Financing, RV Parts & Accessories, and RV Service. Best RV Dealer in Southeast Virginia Dodd RV of Yorktown is the only dealer (that I know of) that sells Rockwood travel trailers -- one of the best on the market. The experience with Dod Dodd RV of Yorktown is the only dealer (that I know of) that sells Rockwood travel trailers -- one of the best on the market. The experience with Dodd has been exceptional; no pressure sales, a knowledgeable staff, and willingness to custom order rather than pressure to buy a travel trailer already on the lot. Dodd RV goes the extra mile when it comes to customer service. Scott and Arnold were wonderful in following up on all of our questions. Plus with a lifetime warranty why go anywhere else. So, if you are on the market for a travel trailer or any other recreational vehicle, consider Dodd RV of Yorktown as your first stop. Had a Rockwood mini lite and liked it but it was just t We just drove home with our new Forest River Rockwood Ultra V. Absolutely love this trailer. Had a Rockwood mini lite and liked it but it was just too small so we went back and got a bigger one for the family to travel with us. Everyone at the dealership is absolutely wonderful. Went in last Saturday and looked around and ended up going to about 5 more dealerships and just did not feel at home like we did with everyone at Dodd, so we ended up coming right back a couple of days later and finding what we wanted. Wanted to Thank everyone at Dodd for such wonderful customer service but especially wanted to Thank Scott, Arnold and Mike in service for everything they done to make our experience a pleasant one. Travel Trailer Purchase My wife and I have been looking to buy a camper for about 3 years and until we visited Dodd RV (Peninsula) we had not found a dealer (or Camper) we we My wife and I have been looking to buy a camper for about 3 years and until we visited Dodd RV (Peninsula) we had not found a dealer (or Camper) we were willing to commit to. Suffice it to say, we have visited many dealers and looked at to many campers to count over that time frame. Our experience started on a rainy day (thunder and lighting) and the sales person (Tina Dew) bravely showed us many campers with a umbrella in her hand trying to keep my wife and my grandson from the rain. I quickly decided we should schedule another visit, which Tina did via email that same day. She had several Travel Trailers ready for us to look at and was very patient with us as we bounced back and forth between campers, often times going back to compare one that we just looked at with our number one and number 2 picks. In the end, we decided on a Tracer Executive 2640RLS. Then the work started. Micheal, Arnold, Gene, Pete and Tom were all ready for us to show up. All loan paper work was ready, the parts department rep walked us through the store and recommended the things we really needed, not what we thought we needed and the Service department had our trailer all hooked up and ready for a very extensive walk through after all the "Other Stuff" was taken care of. Throughout the whole process, Tina continued to check in on us making sure we had cold drinks and anything else we needed to make the process as enjoyable (and that is what it was). I will highly recommend (I already have) that my friends visit Dodd RV (Peninsula) if they are looking at buying a camper. More
