I brought my 2009 MDX for service (A1). They changed the oil and oil filter and run their multipoint inspection (about $32 with a coupon I got in the mail). They recommended replacing both the cabin and th oil and oil filter and run their multipoint inspection (about $32 with a coupon I got in the mail). They recommended replacing both the cabin and the engine air filters (recommended by the manufacturer to have it done every year). They showed me the cabin air filter, and it was really dirty. They quoted about $80 for it. I declined it, since I could do it myself, and their service guy accepted my decision (I thought he would give me a hard time). I order both parts online and payed for them about $45 (including shipping), so I saved some money. Before giving me the car back, they gave it a quick wash. I don't have experience with them diagnosing hard issues, but for regular car maintenance they are as good (or more) than my local mechanic, so I'm planning on bringing my car back next time. More
We have obtained three cars from Acura of Ramsey in the past 6 years. The 3rd car is a dud. We have exclusively used Acura of Ramsey for service on all of the cars. We have referred customers to them. past 6 years. The 3rd car is a dud. We have exclusively used Acura of Ramsey for service on all of the cars. We have referred customers to them. Regarding the 3rd car that is a dud, they did absolutely nothing to help us resolve the problem with the car. It was as if we had no customer loyalty with them. They do not care at all about customer service or customer loyalty. We cannot ever recommend this dealership again. More
Called looking for a specific color 2012 TL. They were one of the few dealers that had one. You know how you can just smell a sales team that is schooled in "old school" xx tactics. This was it. Initi one of the few dealers that had one. You know how you can just smell a sales team that is schooled in "old school" xx tactics. This was it. Initially tried to get me to give him the prices other companies had offered before he would give a quote. When he came back with his numbers, they were on a package I did not ask for. At that point, gave him pricing I had gotten from two other dealers. He came back $20 higher. We agreed I'd forward him the email that showed the pricing offers. I did. Got him on the phone after and he said immediately, "sorry, his manager wouldn't come down, and besides, he thought the car was sold a half hour ago." Of all the different car salesman I spoke with, this one impressed me the least. And given the reviews about their service I read here, it must come from the top. More
Having dealt with 4 Acura and 3 Honda dealers over the years, I find this dealership's service department to be the most incompetent I've ever encountered. They repeatedly mis-diagnosed and/or mis-repair years, I find this dealership's service department to be the most incompetent I've ever encountered. They repeatedly mis-diagnosed and/or mis-repaired one thing after another whereby I ended up getting these issues corrected at Acura of Manhattan where they pointed out the errors on Acura of Ramsey's behalf on MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. On one of those instances, Acura of Manhattan had to replace the interior rear deck panel because Ramsey said it needed to be changed out while claiming they couldn't do it due to the fact that Manhattan had previously replaced the rear deck sub woofer. It was discovered afterwards that the original panel was fine. Manhattan wound up swallowing the cost as a result. On another occasion, my side view mirror went into gyrations instead of tilting downward when going into reverse. The head of service came out and hit one side of the glass repositioning it. That made the mirror work again .... for 2 days! Acura of Manhattan CORRECTLY diagnosed the problem and replaced the actuator inside the mirror assembly. There's more examples like these from my Acura of Ramsey experience, but I think you've got the gist. The service & parts manager, Rick Cohen is by far and away one of the most obnoxious individuals I've ever met. No matter what or how I 'nicely' said or could prove to him in the midst of all this nonsense, his word was LAW. Do you really want to do business with a dealer like this? More
I was tempted to use this dealership's service despite all the bad reviews I had read on this site. Contacted two salesmen over the phone: first it was Brandon Motard, and later Mike Lebron. I was ready t all the bad reviews I had read on this site. Contacted two salesmen over the phone: first it was Brandon Motard, and later Mike Lebron. I was ready to buy a used vehicle and gave them my offer. Both of the salesmen sounded interested in my offer but NEVER responded to my numerous calls. I always thought it is a salesman's responsibility to keep a potential buyer interested in the deal, not the other way around! In two days I made 6 phone calls to the dealership talking to both of the salespeople, but NEVER received any feedback from them despite the fact that at the end of every conversation with me both Mike and Brandon promised to call me back within minutes. Losing my patience, I left a message on their answering machine with a request to call me back with their decision. It is easy to guess that I have never got a call from them. Needless to say that this dealership does a very poor job in building good realionship with its customers. Go ahead guys, keep it the same way, helping us to add more and more negative reviews to your account! This is the right way for you to start looking for new jobs! More
Working with Stu and the rest of the staff at Ramsey Acura is an absolute pleasure. They make leasing a new car a pleasure and the service department makes it very easy to maintain the vehicle. This is an unethical dealership! 3 hours to negotiate deal. Agreements for tires, headphones, rails, etc. were made and forgotten by salesman and had to be revisited time and time again! Had to tell hi deal. Agreements for tires, headphones, rails, etc. were made and forgotten by salesman and had to be revisited time and time again! Had to tell him several times to write agreements down on contract. Contract given to me BLANK - salesman said -you have been here so long just sign at the bottom and I will fill in later. Is he kidding?! Paper with agreement number disappeared. Trade-in number changed. Back office counterpart came to desk and told me he made a mistake punching in mileage. I told him 175,000 and he punched in 87,000 by mistake. Is he kidding now?! It was a good cop, bad cop routine between front salesman and back office manager. No customer service calls were made to me about my experience with Acura. I reported my experience to Customer Relations in CA - More
I went to the dealership to lease a new TSX. The manager passed me off onto the used car manager, who admittedly knew nothing about leasing new cars. I specifically said I wanted to pay nothing out of pocke passed me off onto the used car manager, who admittedly knew nothing about leasing new cars. I specifically said I wanted to pay nothing out of pocket, i.e. EVERYTHING ROLLED IN. I told him the deal and the trade in value I was offered at a competing dealership, and asked if he could beat it. He quoted me a price, assuring me that the deal would not change overnight because they stand by their word. The next morning I arrived to test drive the car and finalize the deal. I test drove the car, then he tells me he needs to appraise my trade-in before we can go any further, which I assumed he did the night before when the car was at the dealership. My fiance happened to be driving that morning, but the trade in was there at the dealership the night before. So, I asked why he didn't look at it the night before. He says, "We weren't at that point yesterday." Well, what point were we at? I told him I wanted the car if the numbers worked. How can a salesperson quote accurate numbers if they have not looked at the trade in? Needless to say, I drove all the way home, and returned with the trade in vehicle. Over an hour later, Michael comes back and tells me the numbers have changed. All of a sudden the price was $75 more per month, with $2000 out of pocket. Plain and simple, I made 3 separate trips to the dealership and wound up with nothing but a waste of my weekend. Acura of Ramsey is ridiculously over-priced, and their staff is incompetent. WARNING: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!!! More
Easy buy and trade in. Internet salesman stood by his word but gave me a 2008 instead of 2007 RDX. Much better than Infiniti in Ramsey that would not give a penny off sticker, were cocky and arrogan word but gave me a 2008 instead of 2007 RDX. Much better than Infiniti in Ramsey that would not give a penny off sticker, were cocky and arrogant young men in suits. Im sure they're ready to make a deal today. Ramsey Acura is NOT owned by the large group of Ramsey dealerships which makes a big difference. All in all, I'm very happy with my 2008 RDX that I have for two years. We get a loaner car without asking the three times it went in for service. We got an MDX today. I called to add one problem and will rate them after this experience. (Thump in the rear, shock or strut) and blue tooth stopped working. My vehicle has lost 2500 dollars in value in over 2 years according to KBB. The Acuras hold their value, thats for sure and the 6 year 70,000 mile warranty bumper to bumper was a big incentive So far, Im pleased. If that changes I'll re post More
I was so excited to get a new MDX. I went back to this dealership twice to test drive and go over the deal. My husband after some convincing of the managers got them to a decent MDX car payment. I left th dealership twice to test drive and go over the deal. My husband after some convincing of the managers got them to a decent MDX car payment. I left the dealership being told I was good to go, all the paperwork was signed, credit app filled out, and even met with the fiance guy. We left a $200 deposit with a cc and was told they would call us with a definate date for when the truck would be here. I recieved a phone call 3 days later being told that after a credit review- my not so perfect credit couldnt get that price and that they wanted $100 more per montly payment. I flipped out on the phone and was told by the sales guy he would take care of it and get back to me. A day later he called saying he used his connections and that we were good to go. The truck was coming from the factory and would be here as planned. (about 2 weeks) The next week I had my husband call just to make sure we were good to go- and no one new what I was talking about. They even called me a liar saying no one every called me. Long story short I didnt get the Acura..and it took us almost a month to get the $200 credited back to my credit card. The worst part is..since they ran my credit and the next dealership it came up on the report. STAY AWAY from this place.. More
