My husband and I bought a 2014 Ram 1500. They had just got it in. Our salesman and the managers presented that we had to pay a NMAG fee for $295 this was for a body and frame inspection to m They had just got it in. Our salesman and the managers presented that we had to pay a NMAG fee for $295 this was for a body and frame inspection to make sure the vehicle was “safe” they kept our truck for four days after we purchased it. They claimed they did a bunch of things to it. When we brought it home we did our own thorough inspection. First thing we noticed was they supposedly put a new air filter in the truck. They did not my husband had to blow it out and it was housed in a filthy housing. They claimed the put a new cabin air filter in which this truck does not have one factory. My husband had to cut a template hole out for a kit to add one. Then we found out they put stop leak in the radiator because there was a coolant leak. We changed the oil ourselves because the filter was old and oil was very dirty. They did change the brakes however they did not put new brake fluid in it. We had that changed yesterday. They supposedly did a wheel rotation and alignment. Well they did NOT because when we had the brake fluid changed the shop called us and said our tires were absolutely loose and about ready to fall off. We took the truck to the shop because we started to hear a thumping noise which we thought was a bad axle, it was the tires about ready to fall off! We also found out that there is no law here in NM that a customer has to pay a $295 NMAG inspection! So they fraudulently presented that in which we contacted the NM AG’s office and filed a complaint. When I contacted TJ the main manager I informed him of this and he said well he’s from Texas and doesn’t know the new laws for him since he’s from Texas. He said but that is a law in Texas. Well it’s not here in NM. He said he would call me back and he has not. He did offer the $295 fee back which we have yet to see, this is common place practice with Autonation. I called yesterday about our title which is another thing they do. They take their sweet time with the title often time people have waited months for it. The list goes on with these guys. DO your research and DONT buy from these guys ever! The news outlets have reached out to us and we will be going public with this next week so no one else gets burned! More
