Had a faulty download of Volvo's latest over-the-air software update. I got a message on the Volvo app that the download was successful, but it didn't take. It would continuously reboot and go blank. I couldn't control most of the vehicle functions, including HVAC, rear camera, radio and Sirrus XM. To reprogram the car the dealer charged a $311 "diagnostic fee" even though the car is under Volvo's Certified Pre-Owned extended warranty. Volvo Customer Care refused to consider a refund, saying it was a dealer issue. This is not the first problem I've had with this car and this dealer. I love how the car drives and looks, but I won't be buying another Volvo. Reddit is full of complaints about this software update, so it's not an uncommon issue. More

Despite daily follow-ups, the car sat for a week before diagnostics even began. The initial check felt dismissive; they claimed the car was "fine" because it accepted a charge, ignoring the specific electrical fault I reported. After 18 days of back-and-forth, they concluded the issue was "not reproducible." While I appreciate the loaner car, the lack of proactivity and the length of time it took to reach a "no-fix" result makes me question returning. More
