My Review Of Autofair Nissan of Tewksbury:
I recently had a bad experience dealing with the service department at the Tewksbury Ira Nissan. I came in describing a specific problem and looking for a diagnosis. A few hours later they had determined the issue via their “computer.” After agreeing to pay $800 dollars for one part - that I now know is no more than $120 dollars online, as well as only 30 minutes of labor – I drive down the road one mile and the problem is still there. At that point the service shop had closed and I would have to find more time later in the week to bring the car back. I come back for a second inconvenient visit, they check their all-knowing “computer” again and say it was a code issue and it should be fixed. Later that day the problem pops right back up. After a third inconvenient visit, I suggest they keep the car and give me a loaner so that I can get back to work. “Unfortunately we don’t offer loaner cars here,” is what Dave the service rep said. After I walk outside to try and find a ride back to work, he miraculously “found a loaner key in his back pocket.” This is not only disrespectful to take advantage of me but just shows that they have no problem lying to the customer’s face. They finally decide to test drive the car to see what I’m describing (maybe should have tried that first?), and determine I need a completely different part for an additional $400 on top of the $800 I already spent for no reason. At this point I’ve had enough B.S. and proceed to tell Dave how much of an inconvenience my 3 trips back to the shop was, along with the fact that I’m 100% sure they mis-diagnosed the problem with my car, only to charge me an arm and a leg for a part I didn’t need. These are certified Nissan “Technicians,” shouldn’t they be able to do a little more than just plug in a computer and assume that everything will be fixed. They should have done their job after they realized the first part did not fix the problem. They did not test drive the car to diagnose the problem nor to see if they had fixed it with their expensive part. I was never offered anything to compensate me for all of the inconveniences along with the fact that I still had the same problem with my car since the beginning, except now I was out $800. This is a terrible way to service cars and the lying service reps are hurting the dealership by upsetting customers. I will never return to any Ira Nissan service departments and will go up the chain to complain about how this particular dealership operates.
