Overall a horrid experience dealing with Amie Graham from this dealership. I first went into dealership because I had an 'electrical malfunction' light show up in my car in June 2013, my car was still under this dealership. I first went into dealership because I had an 'electrical malfunction' light show up in my car in June 2013, my car was still under warranty and she indicated that this problem occurred due to an old battery which the manufacturer warranty would not cover, so then I had my battery replaced and my tires replaced along with it which cost me well over $1500. After I had my battery replaced, I had the same problem, where from time to time I would get "electrical malfunction" light show up. So I decided to go in again, and this time she indicated that there was a battery cable part which was a recall which they would replace for me (which would resolve the issue). After they replaced that part, I still had the same issue. Then right before I reached my 50,000 miles (end of factory warranty), I went in again for the 3rd time and this time to really have them take closer look at my car's problem. As Amie was not available at the time, another service associate told me he would take care of me, ensured me that I am covered, and that BMW is good with taking care of their customers with matters such as this. He said to come back in 3 days and my car would be fixed. Three days later while carless, I got a call from Amie saying that my warranty will not cover the 'electrical malfunction' problem. And told me that I have two options, to pay total of $250.00 for the diagnosis of my car, or to pay additional 500 for further diagnosis to see why that problem exists. I told her there is no way I'd pay for either as service person told me it would be covered under warranty and that this fee was never mentioned when I took my car in. She indicated that it is no longer covered as my used car had been in a minor fender bender before I had purchased my car. I told her I don't think it is fair for me to pay, then she said she'll cut me a deal at half of that price at $125 to take my car back, and I was forced to pay the $125 since they said they would not release my car to me if I didn't. What was most confusing to me was, I went to dealership 3 different times while I was covered under factory warranty. Amie gave me 3 different reasons for my problem. 1st visit : Amie went over my car history and knew from the start that my car was involved in an accident, never told me that warranty is void due to the accident, told me it was a battery problem. replaced battery and it was not the battery issue. 2nd visit: told me it was due to factory recall part (battery cable), replaced, and still had same problem. never told me warranty was void due to prior accident after knowing this fact. 3rd visit: 1st service guy told me my car is covered fully and my electrical malfunction problem will be taken care of after 3 days (did not mention prior fender bender voiding warranty), did not mention what they will be charging. Then Amie calls 3 days later says car warranty is void due to a prior fender bender. She told me 3 different stories. On my 3rd visit I was just under 50,000 miles, so by the next day of driving, my car was well over 50,000 miles which voided the factory warranty. Because of her I've wasted my time, voided my factory warranty, and spent extra dollars on things that did not resolve my problem. More
I dropped my car off for inspection & was provided a loaner. Service wasn't able to finish my car in a day, so they called me to inform me & of course to hold onto the loaner. The loaner came in handy b loaner. Service wasn't able to finish my car in a day, so they called me to inform me & of course to hold onto the loaner. Brought my car in for a warranted window that was not working, and what a disaster. Got the car back to find that they had left parts in the back seat that they forgot to reinstall in the door. Had to working, and what a disaster. Got the car back to find that they had left parts in the back seat that they forgot to reinstall in the door. Had to bring the car back, and the excuses for their stupidity were off the charts! The female service advisor, who knows nothing about cars spen 15 minutes explaining to me that all of this may not be covered under warranty. The car develops a multitude of other issues all stemming from their faulty work, and they just try to dance around it. I grabbed the keys back, and brought the car back to my regular dealer (De Simone BMW) and, as usual, they fixed everything without any questions asked. I've never dealt with such a bunch of amateurs in my life........ THEY ARE AWFUL! More
So today I took my 2008 x5 in for a Oil change also my lift gate no longer stays up by itself so i wanted to find out about that ( such as the parts and labor and whether it was covered under my extended lift gate no longer stays up by itself so i wanted to find out about that ( such as the parts and labor and whether it was covered under my extended warranty). I arrived at 8:15a it was very busy and that was fine my appointment was scheduled for 8:45 so I was not in a hurry. The Service Advisor was ok nothing to brag about. So I get my rental and I go to work. After working all day with no phone call from West German I called at 5:45pm. I was connected to my Service Advisor who says, " Oh I was just getting ready to call you." She tells me the same exact thing I told her this morning about the lift gate, " the technician says it's definitely not staying up, it's the shocks they need to be replaced and we only have 1 here but we can order it and you can bring it back on Friday. So I asked her was it covered under the Extended Warranty she says, " Generally it's not but I can call them and check and call u back." I'm thinking to myself really you had the car for 8 hours and you haven't called me or the extended warranty company! This was the most unprofessional service that I have experienced. I understand that they were busy but 8 hrs for a oil change and for you to tell me something I already knew and now it's 6:00pm and you never called to check the coverage and then you tell me once you call me back after 6:00pm that I have to leave the car. Are you serious West German, is this how you conduct business? I am utterly disgusted I am not working tomorrow and didn't plan to be in that area so this is a huge inconvenience for me! So my story should explain why I gave that rating . Thanks for letting me share. More
I brought my car in to have it inspected (2000 323ci convertible) Even though the car is 11 years old they treated me like I was driving an M6. I was surprised by the need for replacement of parts t convertible) Even though the car is 11 years old they treated me like I was driving an M6. I was surprised by the need for replacement of parts that another repair shop had installed only a year previously and when I went back to the previous shop, they told me no way they should have replaced those parts! they made me believe that they used only BMW parts. to make a long story short, West German BMW went out of their way to honor the 2 year parts warranty on the parts they replaced even though they really didn't have to. It turned out that the previous mechanic had lied to me and when I requested the invoices for the BMW parts, he sheepishly told me "they were aftermarket parts." They made me look like a fool because I was angry at West German BMW and during the process, I was kind of a jerk to them because I thought they did unnecessary repairs. West German BMW never lost their cool, they conducted their business with integrity and completely exposed the other mechanic shop I had used for what it was: a low budget shop that does shoddy work with sub standard parts. Even after I was rude, and in spite of the fact that they did nothing wrong, West German BMW knocked a significant amount off the repair bill. They won my business for as long as I live in the area! I must say that the whole purchasing experience was smooth and painless, but you always wonder how you are going to be treated after the purchase has been made. At WG, that wonder can be put to rest, smooth and painless, but you always wonder how you are going to be treated after the purchase has been made. At WG, that wonder can be put to rest, and I can thank my service advisor for making that happen. He's friendly, honest, and provides great advise for keeping my car running great. More
Have bought or leased four cars here over past decade and always taken them here for service. I've also bought parts and Lifestyle merchandise from them, too. Other dealers are closer to where I live or wor always taken them here for service. I've also bought parts and Lifestyle merchandise from them, too. Other dealers are closer to where I live or work, but I go out of my way to deal with the folks here instead. This is a family-owned dealership where you are treated like family. I have referred many people -- friends, family, co-workers -- here for sales and service and every one of them has thanked me for the recommendation afterwards based upon the experience and treatment they received. If you are looking for just the low price, be careful what you wish for -- some dealers might try to beat these guys by a very small amount, but then you find out the hard way that the service experience at these other places isn't what you hoped for when you bought a BMW. And I think West German's approach toward pricing is extremely competitive, regardless. These guys really deliver what they promise: a very professional and friendly sales experience respecting your intelligence, time, and wallet, followed by extremely comprehensive and expert service after the sale. My most recent visit was for service on my 6-Series and the service team was very comprehensive about diagnosing and dealing with the situation. I recommend West German BMW extremely highly because of the great job they do, and because, after all, it's a BMW and not some copycat wanna-be car pretending to be a BMW in disguise. There is only one BMW! As the ad says, why buy a copy when you can have the original? More
This Dealership never disappoints me. I live closer to two diferent BMW Dealerships (Daniels and Thompson) now that I moved further North to Quakertown PA since my original purchases at WG BMW. I have nev two diferent BMW Dealerships (Daniels and Thompson) now that I moved further North to Quakertown PA since my original purchases at WG BMW. I have never once taken either my 2005 4.4l X5 or my 2002 E46 M3 to anyone other than West German BMW. It's a further drive for me but worth it. I come for service and WG hands me the keys to a New BMW for a loaner. They treat me with respect and I feel like a valuble customer every time I deal with them. They even wash my car, Need I say more. I have known Bob (the owner) 20+ years now he is doing a great job with that dealership. The next car I buy will be a BMW and it will be purchased at West German BMW! More
West German BMW is a quality organization. I have purchased two cars from you over the past three years. One from Leo your used car manager and a new car recently from Rawel Cox. Both were good exp purchased two cars from you over the past three years. One from Leo your used car manager and a new car recently from Rawel Cox. Both were good experiences. My only negative are the prices you charge for parts and service. Way too high!!!! $250 for a replacement battery is obscene. Regards, Jim Gallen More
I had a few transactions with West German BMW. I haven't been amazed at the service department in general but since it is the closest to my home, I try to tolerate it. I called ahead for a replacement hea been amazed at the service department in general but since it is the closest to my home, I try to tolerate it. I called ahead for a replacement headlight assembly. I was planning on replacing the part myself (again, because I generally don't have any patience for car dealerships). But after several months of not having 2 operating headlights, I caved. So I called TODD SIMPSON the service associate that I have delt with in the past (apparently you are assigned a speicifc associate based on the first latter of your last name) and told him that their parts department qouted me $278 for the part. Todd said my quote would then be 278 plus the 153 in labor and then taxes. SO I made an appointment for several weeks in the future (they are always so busy there, you can never get in without planning far in advance). Just yesterday I called Todd and left a voice mail to verify that the correct part was ordered, and the price remained the same. He never called me back with any descrepancy. So today I picked up the car. The price was almost $50 more. I asked why and was told that my options were to pay the price or they would remove the new headlight assembly and put the old one back in. This is when the service manager and parts manager got involved, both of whom were not helpful in resolving this issue. So while in the grand sceme of things a $50 difference is not going to break me, I just found it completely frustrating that at that point they had me over a barrel. Either I pay or wait several hours for them to remove the part and put the old one in, which doesn't help me at all. They made no apologies for the confusion, no concessions what so ever. I ended up paying the bill. and will follow up with yet another letter to general manager. Oh yes, I had issues when I found out that my certified pre-owned car, was in an accident that was never disclosed. Thus the value of my car is basically nothing. SO never believe in "certified" anything and do not believe that a so called Luxury car maker will have luxury service. More
