My name is Gerald Bradford. I finalized a deal in cash to purchase a new 2005 Ford Ranger FX 4 Off-Road pick-up truck from Bert Weinman Ford Inc. on Ashland Ave in Chicago, Illinois on August 11, 2005. I traded in my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 that was also purchased at Bert Weinman Ford Inc. in August of that year.
On August 9, 2005, I viewed my new 2005 truck for the first time. It was a filthy mess. I never said a word about its appearance at that time because I was assured on Thursday August 11th that it would be ready and prepared for delivery. I returned to Bert Weinman Ford Inc. on that date to trade my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 in and pick-up my new 2005 Ford Ranger FX 4 Off-Road truck. After the transaction was completed, I had a chance to view my new truck again. Due to the weather conditions, I was not able to totally inspect the vehicle the way it needed to be because it was raining that day. When I went home and after it stopped raining, I was able to thoroughly inspect my new truck. I was shocked to find out when I lifted the hood, the engine compartment was filthy and the front grill where the top meets the hood was bubbled, faded, and cracked. The bed of the truck was covered with some sort of tree sap because the finish was so faded and dull they could not initially clean it. All four tires had an average of 25 lbs. of pressure when the maximum air pressure is 44 lbs. Also one valve stem cap was missing on the right rear tire. How nobody at Bert Weinman Ford Inc. ever saw the condition of this vehicle is beyond me.
