Check engine light came on – arrived on May 18 and was sent away with “all codes have been erased, your good to go – bank 1 was showing as an old code. Service MGr “and by the way, both boots on your axle sent away with “all codes have been erased, your good to go – bank 1 was showing as an old code. Service MGr “and by the way, both boots on your axles are leaking”. ME – Really I just had it inspected 2 weeks ago. Billed 105.95 Left McCandless , Drove 10 miles and blinking check engine light came on – MISFIRE! Pulled over – service mgr told me to bring it back. I replied “Don’t you think I should tow it?” “SM replied, “oh yes”. I had it towed to McCandless Ford. May 20, 2026 through May 27th – Service manager told me I had the wrong spark plugs in (This was incorrect) – but. McCandless proceeded to change. Changed spark plugs, one o2 sensor and 1 coil pack = 1452.66 Picked up my vehicle and asked, “Is my catalytic converter ok”? SM “Yes your good to go”. I drove 15 miles and the check engine light came on. Came back to Ford – Diagnosis “You need a catalytic converter, estimate is $4200. This was an EPIC FAIL on the service manager and McCandless Ford. My boots were damaged when they did their “inspection” of my vehicle when check engine light came on. I did not ask for an inspection of anything other than blinking light. I have a 68 Ford dully, a 79 F150, and a 2013 F150. I am AFRAID TO GO TO A FORD DEALERSHIP BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE AT MCCANDLESS Ford. I will never go back and I will tell my story everywhere I go! Furthermore, I am writing Ford and providing pictures of everything I spoke about. Inspection 2 weeks prior to “supposed” boots rotting out – they were damaged during their “inspection”. More

I travel for work, just about every week. I'm forgetful, and often times irresponsible, but I'm only 67 years old, so I'm still learning and maturing. The email reminders from Bill McCandless Ford for when service is due, is just enough. They are gentle reminders to get in there and get the oil changed and the tires rotated... and that's great. But the courtesy and the professionalism of Lisa and the rest of the team takes it to the next level! The pricing is very competitive, the quality of work is as good as it gets, and the service and accommodation of schedules and special needs as good as it gets! Last week I was in a real jam, and had no way to get there to pick up my car... Lisa figured out a way to deliver it! Problem solved! I can't say enough good things about Bill McCandless Ford's Service Department... I'll be a customer for life! More
