I am writing to share my deeply disappointing and deceptive experience with Bob Howard Chevrolet. On 12/31/25, I found a specific Blazer on their website. Using their online configurator, I received a clear "Out-the-Door" price of $35,000 with no trade-in selected. The website stated the price was good for 2 days, which should have made it valid through 1/2/26. (Note: The dealership and GM were closed on 1/1/26.) On 1/2/26, I called, ready to buy. I provided the VIN and referenced the online price. The salesman consulted his manager and returned with a shocking "adjusted" quote of $41,500, plus $1,500 for "paint protection" and $700 for "interior protection." With other fees, the total soared to about $44,000—$9,000 higher than the advertised price. When I shared a screenshot of the original $35,000 quote and expressed my confusion, they revised their quote to $38,000, with an out-the-door price of $41,000. I stated I did not want the added paint and interior protections. At this point, the sales manager lied to me, claiming these were "factory-applied" protections required before the dealership could accept the inventory and could not be removed. This is categorically false. A simple Google search and calls to other Chevrolet dealerships confirm these are purely optional, dealer-installed add-ons designed to inflate the price. Furthermore, the online price for the exact same vehicle remained lower than their "best" quote even during our negotiation. I took a day off work for what I believed was a straightforward purchase at an advertised price. Instead, I encountered classic bait-and-switch pricing and was deliberately misled about the nature of add-ons. This is not how trustworthy businesses operate. I walked away and will take my business elsewhere. I advise any shopper to be extremely cautious, document everything, and not trust the online prices or representations from their sales management at Bob Howard Chevrolet. More
