My Review Of Brad Barker Honda :

I just had one of my Honda Odyssey 1999 serviced at Brad Barker for an oil change service 2 weeks ago and I was very pleased with their service and I wanted to give my business to them again.

On 1/28 I called for a transmission service for another Honda Odyssey 2004 and was quoted $130 for the service. Since I live in Bloomington and Oswego/Naperville and commute between Peoria/Goodfield and Bloomington, I have choice of Honda dealers.I am retired and have a lot of time at my disposal. After having made an appoitment ( which was very easy because I was told that they were very much wide open on 1/28 & 1/29) with Brad Barker on 1/29 at 9:30 am.

Curiousity prompted me to call Bob Lindsay Honda was quoted $89.00 for the same service but they were booked until the the following week which was fine with me. I called back and talked to Ted at Brad Barker to cancel my appointment citing that Bob Lindsay quoted $89.00 for their transmission service and his response was from his tone of voice "perhaps I should go to Bob Lindsay for that service".

I promptly cancelled my appointment with Brad Barker.

Valley Honda charges the same (without an appt) as Bob Lindsay with a car wash.

August of 2010, I had my Honda Accord A/C serviced by Brad Barker and I was pleased.

But a year ago when checking for a timing belt service for my Odyssey, Brad Barker was $1600.00 while Bob Lindsay charged me $1200.00 for the service with a loaner.

I do not know if I will ever go back to Brad Barker for service.

My Review Of Brad Barker Honda :

My son and daughter had the great misfortune of having our Pilot break down on them just outside of Bloomington on a trip from Maryland to Illinois. The car was towed to Brad Barker Honda where it was determined that the transmission was shot and needed to be replaced. I counted the car as a loss and told Mr Keller that I planned to donate the car, making all the arrangements from Maryland. He suggested that I leave the car at the dealer as long as I needed at no charge. He also gave my kids a ride to a rental car place, treating them with great respect.

I have never purchased a car from Brad Barker or had other service performed at this dealer. Given the way that they (Mr Keller and Mr Barker) responded to this difficult problem, I am happy to offer this positive review. Their honesty, understanding and assistance made a bad situation much easier to deasl with.

My Review Of Brad Barker Honda :

I have bought 6 cars from Brad Barker. The best dealership in Central Illinois. I have bought both new and used vehicles from them. I will not deny they are very difficult to negotiate with on price but if you stick to your guns they will work with you. I buy a lot of cars at least one a year and have never felt more comfortable than at Brad Barker. The service department is great they treat you well and handle your problems with a sense of urgency. I bought a used Acura from them and about a year in to owning the engine light started to come on. I went to them first to avoid to the long trip to a Chicago Area dealership to find out what was wrong. When they (Brad Barker)could not diagnose they contacted an Acura Dealer in the Chicago area to see if they could get some help. They found out what the problem was, had the part ordered, and set up an appointment for me at the Acura dealership to fit my schedule. Brad Barker did this all at no charge to me. Understand this was a year and 40k miles after I had bought the part. They very customer service focused in all of their departments just a great place to deal with.

My Review Of Brad Barker Honda :

I've been taking my vehicle to this dealership for a while now and I don't trust them. I took my vehicle to this dealership to get my routine oil changed, I got in and out, to find out that my car had been damaged. There were deep scratches into my top part of my trunk. There was no way that it was to be buffed out. Approximately 100 scratches. I was told that they had no idea that how it happened and said they have nothing in their bay that could do that. They said that the mechanic that worked on my car was 70 years old, like that made some sort of difference. They assumed no responsibility. I will never go back there again, I'm going to be doing oil changes myself or will be driving an hour round trip to get my oil changed.

I almost bought two cars there. They are simply ripping people off. They would not come down in price for anything. Make sure you do your research on a vehicle before making a purchase. go to kbb.com or nada.com to check pricing. I ended up driving 100 miles plus to the next dealership and paid 2000 less on a car that was brand new,and one year newer than the used car they wanted to sell me with 18000 miles.

Its just not how to do business.

My Review Of Brad Barker Honda :

I made an appt - they did not honor it. Tried to tell me they got my name mixed up with another - I have a very unique first and last name - that was a lie. So to make amends they offered to do the maintenance on my car asap. I was in to have the 110,000 mi maint done - was quoted $120 on the phone while making the appt. The mechanic did the 100,000 AND the 110,000 mi maints. - tried to charge me $287. When we figured out that they did both maints - they took $37 off the price. I was still paying more than double what they quoted me.
This sort of stuff has happened the entire time I have been going there. I have complained til I am blue in the face - to no avail.

My Review Of Brad Barker Honda :

I did not have a good experience with Brad Barker Honda. I bought a pre-owned car there and came back the next day to pick it up. Not only was the car's exterior dirty, but when I got home I noticed a new car ding. The dealer was not willing to fix it or compensate me. Don't be fooled. They don't car about making you happy, they only want your money!
