My mother and father-in-law are both 84 years old and have been loyal customers of Capital Cadillac (formerly Capital City Motors) since 1974. For over 50 years, they purchased their vehicles there and t have been loyal customers of Capital Cadillac (formerly Capital City Motors) since 1974. For over 50 years, they purchased their vehicles there and trusted the dealership to service them. Their 2013 Cadillac had approximately 103,000 miles, had been serviced exclusively by the dealership since 2014, was paid off, and was still in good condition. They brought the vehicle in because the air conditioning needed repair. After discussing the repair costs, they were left with the impression that the car would likely develop many more expensive problems in the near future. Based on that advice, they decided to trade it in. In my opinion, they were offered a trade-in value that was far below what their vehicle was worth. They ultimately purchased a new Cadillac for approximately $70,000 and paid cash. Considering they were lifelong customers who had done business with this dealership for decades, they received no meaningful incentives or recognition for their loyalty. I am deeply disappointed by how this transaction was handled. I believe the dealership took advantage of two elderly, trusting customers who relied on the advice they were given after more than 50 years of doing business there. Instead of being treated like valued lifelong customers, they left with a deal that I believe was heavily one-sided. The salesperson, Julius Murray, handled the sale, and Sales Manager Chris Biro was also involved in overseeing the transaction. Based on what I witnessed, I question whether my in-laws' best interests were ever a priority. After decades of loyalty, this experience has completely changed my family's opinion of Capital Cadillac. I would strongly encourage anyone—especially seniors—to bring a trusted family member with them before making a major purchase and to seek an independent appraisal of their trade-in vehicle before agreeing to any deal. This place is great when you need to purchase a vehicle, but maintenance is a nightmare. Tommy Williams my initial sales consultant was so kind and caring...as I moved through the sale Chris Biro, the General Manager, was a stepping stone that elevated my purchase to some awesome 20" wheels that added pop to the vehicle. Chris makes you feel at ease with your purchase and goes above and beyond to make sure you're pleased!!! Thom Holmes is one of the most thorough people I've EVER met!
