The entire experience was easy and enjoyable! You cannot always say that about buying a car. David knows his product and all of the many settings and operation modes. He is patient with any questions and always follows up and keeps you posted . I would definitely buy from him again.

"Wasted my time, money and energy!"

I am writing this review to inform the public of the most unpleasant, unprofessional and frustrating experience I experienced with Checkeredflag BMW. On March 8, 2017 I was on auto trader searching for a 2016 BMW X3. I started a chat with someone in their internet department. I asked for someone to call me. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from Jim Fionnghael, who is the internet manager. We discussed me trading my 2013 Lexus RX350 and spending no more than $15,000 out of pocket and trading for one of the following three vehicles he had in stock: BL63135, BL63141 & BL63165. All of these vehicles were 2016 BMW X3 loaner cars. I described my Lexus to Jim in detail. He stated the deal was doable on any one of the three cars mentioned above. I explained to Jim that I needed to get my title from my safety deposit box and would contact him the next morning. On march 9th, 2017 I received an email from Shannon Thomas to inform me that he would be my contact upon arrival. At 8:50am I called Jim to make sure he understood the deal I was looking for. He informed me to come on to Virginia Beach. I explained again that I had my title in hand, but did not want to drive 335 miles one way if the deal was not doable. He informed me to come on and see Shannon when I arrived. I arrived at the dealership at approximately 2:10 pm. Upon meeting Shannon, we attempted to locate the three vehicles I was there to see. Unfortunately, only one was still available, the BL63141. I drove the vehicle and decided it would fit my needs. Shannon sat down at his desk to work out the numbers and turned his computer screen toward me and asked how the deal look. To my shock, the bottom number was in excess of $18,000. Shannon appeared to be surprised at my reaction. I asked if he and Jim had talked. He informed me that they had not and he asked for me to sit tight and he would see what he could do. After about 20 minutes, he returned with the used sales car manager and he stated that he had not discussed with Jim the deal I was seeking. I then asked to speak with the GM, Todd Collins. I preceded to get in my car and go across the street to his office where he was located. I walked in the front door and somebody hollered out, you must be looking for me. He didn’t come to meet me, he went to sit down instead of coming to greet me. I told Mr. Collins my perception of the deal I had made with Jim Fionnghael. Mr. Collins informed me that Jim Fionnghael had no authority to make such a deal and he apologized. At that point I was so upset I thought it best to just leave. In a nutshell, this cost me 670 miles on my vehicle for a worthless round trip to Virginia Beach, $60 in gas money and most importantly a wasted day. I find it difficult to comprehend that a dealership can have a manager which evidentially has no authority. Based on my experience I would stay clear of this dealership and shop elsewhere. "Excellent Service!"

I've been using Checkered Flag Mini since I bought my first one in 2004, ... I now also have a 2015. When I got the 2015, Frank was able to advise me on the new features and what he knew I had come to expect and love about my 2004, from a servicing standpoint. I didn't follow one suggestion and regret it, ... and maybe I should have tried that cool color combination, too... but otherwise, I was sensible and took his great advice. The 2015 had a crazy issue with a recent recall, but as usual, Frank Lindsay in service has kept me well informed and taken care of me and my mini throughout the process. I've had a Mini for 13 years and Frank has been there to assist, keep me informed, and dealt with all of my crazy issues with being a coastal ecologist taking the Mini from swamp to shore to cross-country trips (think I have the highest mileage on the 2015 so far). He has set the standard and it is a tough act to follow! Thanks, Frank!
