Michael, you have a Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty on your truck. We did check to see if the wheel speed sensor was covered under that warranty and it was not covered, so we quoted you for the repair. You are correct, it is $249 plus tax for parts and labor to replace the right rear wheel speed sensor. We found several stored codes for the right rear wheel speed sensor. After road testing and performing diagnosis, we determined that it was not reading the same as the other wheel speed sensors: a ½ to 1 MPH difference than the others, so that was the recommended repair to fix the issue. We did quote new rear tires to obtain matching tread depths to the front, because your front two were at 10/32" and the rears were 6/32" and 7/32." On a four-wheel drive system, since the tires were at different diameters, it can cause wear and tear on the four-wheel drive system and can cause four-wheel drive lights to come on in some cases. Additionally, it can cause premature wear. We also recommend rotating your tires every 6,000 miles to avoid this tread depth disparity. Fairway in Fostoria repaired the speed sensor issue & only charged me 200 dollars to replace it. Fixed same day & didn’t leave me scratching my head & playing guessing games. They seem to know what they’re doing over there, stock parts, and treated me well.
