My Review of Dave Walter Volkswagen:
We have been looking for a used 2011 jetta tdi for about a month now and we visited quite a few dealerships to test drive a few and check out prices and what the value of my trade-in was. After having a couple deals not go thru due to the lack of customer service and the vehicle not being quite what I was looking for, we came upon a 2011 jetta at Dave Walter volkswagen of Akron. My boyfriend contacted the dealership and talked with Frank Waldo at the beginning of the week and today, Saturday, we drove over 300 miles from Michigan, to come pick up the jetta. I can say that we have never dealt with a more courteous and helpful salesman from beginning to end. Frank was such a pleasure to work with. I cannot thank him enough. It makes a world of difference when you are in the car buying process and dealing with someone as great as Frank versus a salesman that is just in it to get that car sold. The process was smooth and simple and the finance manager also made the experience great. This is my first volkswagen and I can confidently say that because of the experience I had with Frank, and the rest of the staff as well, I will be giving Frank a call for my next car purchase and recommending him and the dealership to everyone! My Review of Dave Walter Volkswagen:
I blame nothing on Randy in regards to any of this, he did his job to his best ability, and was friendly for the little bit of time I dealt with him.

I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2007 Jetta GLI at Dave Walter, the car has since turned out to be a Lemon.

The vehicle was clearly "certified" in a fraudulent manner by their service department.

I live out of state, and drove 2 hours to buy the vehicle. I got there, car was somewhat clean, but not "detailed" like it should have been. The car ended up having a scratched and damaged windshield, but looked like dead bug streaking. The headliner material fell down within 4 weeks of ownership. The ignition switch failed and left me stranded, but VW roadside helped me with that! The engine wiring harness failed and left me stranded, 3 weeks later the car was fixed, without a rental! Vacuum lines were cracked and seperated on the motor, they were replaced under CPO warranty. Blower motor was making terrible noise, the pollen filter was replaced b/c it was totally clogged with debris, should have been done at scheduled maintenance but was never done.

CPO checklist states "all maintenance must be up to date" my car has had ZERO maintenance since 5,000 miles, verified through my local dealer and VW corporate. My DSG service on the transmission was never performed and I have to pay ~$400 service for that out of my pocket. Car appears to maybe been in a wreck, some rust on bolts on the inside of the door as well as a bad alignment which destroyed my tire within 4,000 miles, paid out of pocket to repair.

I would NEVER buy another car without having a pre purchase inpsection by an outside source. CPO or not, do not trust a dealer to actually certify the vehicle, there is a handful of issues with this car that were "overlooked" on the CPO checklist, which makes me thing the car was never even properly certified and Dave Walter just lied to VW for the warranty.

What use is the warranty when your car needs to be serviced once a month! this car is a lemon and was NEVER properly inspected!

My Review of Dave Walter Volkswagen:
I was looking for a "lightly used" VW. After searching the internet, I came across Dave Walter VW site. I was able to do side by side comparisons and paired my choice of cars to three (2 VWs and an Acura). I emailed Aaron at 8:30 AM and he responded within 30 minutes. Aaron scheduled a 3 PM appointment and had each of the cars ready to go. Aaron handed us off to Sean Walsh and we went for a test drive of each car. Even though the cars were used, they looked brand new. After test driving each car, Sean & Aaron answered all my questions and left my wife and I alone to discuss. No high pressure sales at all. When I decided on the 2099 VW CC Sport, they were pretty fast in getting all the paperwork in place and had me out the door within an hour after making the decision. Execellent overall experience.

My Review of Dave Walter Volkswagen:
Bought a new VW CC at Dave Walter ... They made a miscalculation and wanted me to pay additional 2 Grand. (I did not) A week later the sales guy wasn't employed there anymore.

Unfortunately this is not the worst part. I sold the vehicle a year later and bought a Jeep GC from a different dealership. Of course I wanted a refund of all the service contracts they sold me and so I got in contact with Bruce. Do not think this guys calls you ever back (actually nobody did - not even the manager) So I had my new dealership involved (not one call back to them either) and finally VW America. Still waiting for the refund (4 months now) My (new) dealer told me today I was not the first there with similar issues ...

DO NOT EVER CONSIDER THIS DEALERSHIP!

My Review of Dave Walter Volkswagen:
Bought an H1 Hummer from Frank Waldo. I bought this car over the phone. Frank was not only the salesman, but also inspected the car for me and gave me every detail about the car. The dealership is located over 500 miles from me, so you can imagine the trust I was putting into Frank. He personally delivered the H1 and it was as he described over the phone. I can honestly say that Frank is not a high presuure salesman. Talking to Frank for a two week period, I felt that he had my best interest in this transaction. Again, not once did I feel pressured to purchase the vechicle.
I actually took Mr. Waldo out for lunch after he delivered my vechicle and got to know him on a more personable level. Frank is a great guy and I would do business with him again in the future. I would recommend purchasing a car, boat, motorcycle or whatever from him.

I recently bought a 2005 Toyota Solara from Dave Walter Volkswagen and am the happiest new owner of a great Car. The car drives like new and looks great. I would reccomend any buyer to this dealership no matter which part of the country you are from. I drove 4hrs to pick up the car and did not regret it at all. The people there had great customer service and I recieved alot of help From Frank Waldo. I even forgot my car remote but Frank took his time to send it to me a week later, thanks Frank. Great great dealership. I would reccoment it to anyone.

Absolute worst car buying/service experience ever!! My wife and I purchased our Jetta new from them less than 2 years ago. We were told that if we needed anything more than an oil change, we'd get a loaner car. The first time we had needed a loaner, they refused, then wanted to charge us for it. We took it in for our free 90 day check-up and were told after they took the car that we were out of our 90 day. My wife said not to bother to wash it, we just want the car back so we can leave. The service manager said it was already washed, but he'd throw some dirt on it. I need tires and asked if they had them in stock, they said yes, so I made an appointment. When I got there, they did not have them in stock and I had to come back again. We got fed up with dealing with them and traded the car in. Now we're trying to get a partial refund on our extended service agreement and have left many, MANY voicemails and e-mail to the finance manager, which he won't respond to. Absolute ridiculous/non-existent customer service! I've never been treated so badly by a dealership. We even contacted VW corporate and they wouldn't do anything to help, stating"we can't make the dealer do anything". Sorry VW, we will NEVER EVER buy another one of your products! And Dave Walter, if you're listening, you might want to get some new employees; the ones you have now, mainly your service manager and finance manager suck!

My Review of Dave Walter Volkswagen:
Mitch called me about the Jetta Lease Pull Ahead Program. It was a great deal & Mitch and every at DW VW, was great to work with. This is the 2nd car that I have gotten from DW VW and prior to that I had a BMW serviced at DW BMW. On this car, Mitch had one brought in from another dealership quite a distance away just so I could have a stick shift and be really satisfied. This Jetta has been a fantastic car, no issues and the free maintenance for 3 years is icing on the cake. Everyone at this dealership in Sales and Service are good to work with. When my daughter starts driving in a few years, I will take her to DV to try to find a car because of the service and the quality of German engineered cars. Thanks Dave Walters and Crew

He kept in communication with me through e-mail(I preferred this, as it is easier for me than the phone, although I'm sure he would be the same via phone) throughout the process, and informed me of everything going on. Made my first car buying experience a good one!
