My Review of Donovan Bauer Autogroup:
The reason for the lowest of the low rating we gave Donovan Bauer Autogroup in Titusville, PA. is the poor service department. We purchased a brand new 2003 Durango SXT in early 2004 from them. After making many trips to the service dept. for transmission and brake repairs, we were still not satisfied with the service department.
On Jan 24th 2007, we took the Durango into the service dept. for warranty work on the transmission again. It would not shift into 2WD from 4WD, the steering was pulling to the right and 3 times it made a loud "klunk" when the transmission shifted. I was told it was OK to drive the vehicle in 4WD; they told me it needed a new "transfer module" ($210 for this part with $100 deductible which was news to me about a deductible for the 7yr/70000 drive train warranty). They did not have a transfer module in stock, nor did a Cleveland warehouse (they had 2 on back order) and the part would be ordered from Millwaukee. It would be 2 days or so to get the part. I was told it was ok to drive it in 4WD.
After going right home, I left to run errands. I called the service dept. from my vehicle as it was shaking, pulling more to the right, the power steering was deminishing and I could not drive more than 35 mph; I was told it was OK to keep driving it. Three to five miles further down the road the engine CAUGHT ON FIRE while I was driving!! The Durango we took such good care of was a total loss. I had driven about 15 miles or less from the dealership after they had looked at it that morning.
We would never recommend Donovan Bauer Autogroup to ANYONE. If you want any service, drive right past this dealership and go to anyone else. Please do not trust the service depatment with your vehicle. After having 2 firetrucks, one EMT vehicle and 2 police cars block off the road while my Durango was in flames, I never want anyone to have this happen to them.

The service dept. told me it needed a new "transfer module", still covered under warranty of 7yr/70000. Our Durango had approximately 41,200 miles on it. No transfer module was in stock in Titusville nor in Cleveland, where 2 were on back order. The dealer would order the part from Millwaukee and should be availble in 2 days or so. I was it was ok to drive it in 4WD until the parts came in. After going right home in 4WD, I left to run an errand. I called the service dept.while driving the vehicle as the steering was worse, the vehicle would not go over 35 mph and I felt the car shaking. I was told by the service dept. to keep driving it in 4WD. Three to five miles further down the road, the engine CAUGHT ON FIRE with me in it!!! The Durango is a total loss.
I would never recommend this dealer to ANYONE! If you want a good service department, DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT go to Donovan Bauer Autogroup in Titusville, PA.
