Full Experience – Driveway / Lithia Transaction I purchased a vehicle through Driveway.com, believing I was buying directly from an online platform. Only later did I learn the vehicle was sourced fro purchased a vehicle through Driveway.com, believing I was buying directly from an online platform. Only later did I learn the vehicle was sourced from a Lithia-owned dealership. The vehicle had 9,600 miles and had never been sold to the public. Based on that, I expected it to be properly maintained and inspected prior to delivery. As soon as I received the vehicle, multiple issues were immediately apparent: • The driver’s door did not open correctly and required force to pull open. • All tire pressure sensors were illuminated. • Tire pressure was down to 25 PSI. • Two additional warning lights were on. • The steering was squealing. For a vehicle with under 10,000 miles that had not yet been sold retail, this condition was unacceptable. The most concerning part of this experience was the lack of communication. I contacted Driveway multiple times and also attempted to contact the originating dealership, including requesting management. My calls were not returned. There were no follow-ups and no meaningful attempt to address the issues. After I left a review on another platform and sent certified letters to their legal department, the company publicly responded to that review and stated someone had reached out to me. However, when I attempted to return the call, I was unable to reach anyone. There are no direct extensions or dedicated contact lines, and I could not connect with the representative they referenced. A public response without accessible, two-way communication does not resolve the issue. Because I could not determine the full extent of the mechanical concerns and was unable to obtain resolution, I ultimately had to trade the vehicle back. This resulted in a financial loss. I remain open to direct communication, but that requires responsive and functional contact channels. More
Overall, positive experience. Dane was wonderful, was attentive to our needs, and took great care of us. After receiving the car, our inspection uncovered warped brake rotors and Dane was wonderful, was attentive to our needs, and took great care of us. After receiving the car, our inspection uncovered warped brake rotors and need of a transmission flush which didn't show up on the dealer's inspection. Paperwork took a bit longer than expected, had to request an extension to the temporary registration, and then the actual plate and registration arrived a couple of weeks later so all worked out.
