This was the worst, albeit brief, experience I've ever encountered from a dealer. Period. Mark responded to my emails and questions rudely, provided little to no information about the model I was interes encountered from a dealer. Period. Mark responded to my emails and questions rudely, provided little to no information about the model I was interested in and concluded all correspondences with insulting sarcasm. However, he did make a point to stress that his dealership his the highest volume Hyundai dealership in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and ALL their Velosters sell pre-delivery. The same rhetoric most sleazy dealerships try give you just to get you to walk on the lot. If a salesman states “Good Luck in finding a (insert make/model) which is not sold or sold to you for over $XXX,” he’s not a very good salesman. Well I found exactly what I wanted in color and features not more than 20 minutes after dealing with Eckert Hyundai @ South Dallas Hyundai. Got a great deal, their internet sales team are top notch and I was in and out of the dealership in less than an hour and a half. Eckert gives the Hyundai brand a bad name. These guys are crooks and not to be trusted. Avoid at all cost! More
I was communicating with John Ackery for 2012 Elantra. I was very clear in my communication of what I wanted in the car and that I would by paying in full for the car. John gave me a very good price and ass was very clear in my communication of what I wanted in the car and that I would by paying in full for the car. John gave me a very good price and assured that the price he gave would be honored even if I pay in full for the car. We decided on a day and arrived at the dealership. We were shown the car and it had about 30 miles more than what I was told. John gave some lame excuses like the car inspector must have driven the car, he had to drive the car back and forth between their new and old facility (which btw was no more than 2 miles both ways). We were not convinced but thought it was not such a big deal so decided to proceed with the conversations. Next we asked for a carfax report and John said there would be nothing on the carfax since it was a new car and that carfax is for old cars (more shock). But we had checked the carfax before hand wary of the how shady these car dealers are. Next it came to talking about the price and John said they can honor the price only if we did ballon financing from hyundai motors. This was the deal killer for us since we did not want to have to do with financing (since we are in the market for a house and don't want a credit hit). When John could not convince us he had his xxxxxxx finance guy come talk to us. This guy tried to convince us that doing financing would have not hit our credit report and that it was ok. Don't deal with these people they are shady, dishonest and don't deserver anyone's hard earned money. Better stay clear of them. More
One Saturday, I called Eckert Hyundai to see if they had 2012 automatic Elanta's in stock and I wanted to know their price. Douglas Peyton answered the phone, told me the 2012 Elantra base model ranged bet 2012 automatic Elanta's in stock and I wanted to know their price. Douglas Peyton answered the phone, told me the 2012 Elantra base model ranged between $18,550 - $19,000 and said that I could not get an Elantra for any price less than Eckert. I told him I was quoted $17,600 at a different dealership for an automatic base model Elantra and $18,070 for a package 3 Elantra. Rudely and loudly, he said there was no way I could get an automatic Elantra at that price. He said they were quoting me for a manual transmission & they were only trying to get me in their car lot. He said, "if you can bring me a bill of sale with that price, I will treat you and a friend to Del Frisco's." I said, "I will take you up on that offer!" Well, I was able to purchase my 2012 Hyundai Elantra at a Fort Worth dealership for less than what Douglas Peyton had quoted me. When I arrived at the Hyundai dealership in Fort Worth, I had been quoted correctly over the phone. I upgraded my package to alloy wheels, blue tooth, steering wheel controls (package 3)....and I still walked out paying less than what Douglas Peyton at Eckert Hyundai said I could get. The following week, I showed up at Eckert Hyundai in Denton to show Douglas Peyton my bill of sale and claim my dinner for two at Del Frisco's, just as he asked. However, he said he could not honor the dinner because he did not know I had a 'trade in' car when I asked for pricing! WT-! He continued to say that he could have given me more money for my 'trade in'. I had already done my research and I got fair value for my car. He had no clue what was wrong with my 'trade in'; nevertheless, the price of my new car should have nothing to do with a 'trade in' car. That's when you know the car salesman is playing you!!! Needless to say, Douglas Peyton at Eckert Hyundai did not keep his word, he had a horrible attitude and he's the type of salesman who will scam you. I would never reccommend shopping for a car at Eckert Hyundai in Denton. There are so many other dealers in the DFW metroplex who were professional and I would certainly see them first! More
Doug Peyton was SO completely awesome to work with on Friday when we traded our 13 year old truck & bought a used Honda Insight! My only regret is that we didn't come see him first!! He made the entire p Friday when we traded our 13 year old truck & bought a used Honda Insight! My only regret is that we didn't come see him first!! He made the entire process completely enjoyable & nearly pain free while treating us like family which even included handing over his iPhone with games my 7 year old though were the coolest!! Thank you for spending time after the sale trying to get the silly voice controls set up! Loved it!! We will be back to trade my giant Expedition in a few years and look forward working with him again!! More
I had an awesome experience that I wanted to share with anyone that is looking to buy a car from Eckert Hyundai. From the time we walked through the doors we were greeted by the friendliest staff asking if anyone that is looking to buy a car from Eckert Hyundai. From the time we walked through the doors we were greeted by the friendliest staff asking if we needed help. We had an appointment with Doug Peyton that went great! He made the process of getting into my new 2012 Elantra such a breeze. From finding out exactly what i was looking for, to letting me test drive the vehicle, to filing out the paper work and getting my old car appraised the process went very smooth. Doug Peyton has a very welcoming funny personality that makes you feel at home and eases the stresses of buying a new car. Everyone on staff there was great to talk with. We even made friends with some of the other customers there that had already bought their vehicles or were there looking. I highly recommend this dealership if you are looking for honest, friendly, down to earth people. I look forward to referring my friends and family to Doug Peyton and Eckert Hyundai! More
I was very impressed with my experience here. On my first visit I was promptly greeted by Stan. I do not think a person could say enough nice things about him. He listened to what I wanted, was highl first visit I was promptly greeted by Stan. I do not think a person could say enough nice things about him. He listened to what I wanted, was highly knowledgeable and never once did I feel like he was trying to pressure me into making any decisions. My first visit was just to test drive to find what car out of the ones that I had narrowed it down to fit me best. In that visit, Stan never the "what can I do to get you in the car today" game. I really appreciated that because a new car is a big deal. After test driving I went to a couple other car places to try out the other cars but was pretty much sure I wanted the Elantra. The second time I went back was to test drive the Accent (lower payments) but they were out that day. By then I had decided to that I was going to go with a Hyundai, the only question was which one. Again Stan was very respectful and never tried to up sell the Elantra, although unfortunately they did not have any Accents to test drive but he told me they were waiting on a shipment. I had just recently moved so I went to the dealership close to my house and took my mom. Once again they had no Accents but I drove the Elantra again. While I fell in love with the car again, the dealership not so much. The gentlemen was pushy, down talked the Accent, trying to get me into the higher priced car, and told me the Elantras were selling at least 2000 over sticker :(. Since I really had no intention of buying we left. The next day I made my dad go with me to Eckert again (almost an hour drive) so I could work with Stan. When I walked in he had the keys for me to test drive the Accent. While the Accent was a good car, I was not in love with it like the Elantra. Then I picked out my car and next thing you know I was buying my Elantra :). James in finance was just as great. He worked to get me what I wanted and needed. I never felt like they were trying to pull one over on me. James handled all the changes I sprung on him with a smile and good humor (and trust me there was a lot.) I mean this was even less haggle then Saturn's "No Haggle Pricing." Well worth the drive!!!! More
I had spent several days looking for a preowned car to purchase. I went to five different dealerships in the Dallas area and also two trips to CarMax. Most of my encounters were positive - just couldn purchase. I went to five different dealerships in the Dallas area and also two trips to CarMax. Most of my encounters were positive - just couldn't decide what kind of car to buy! I had a 12 yr. old Expedition w/ 182,000 miles that I loved but had to replace because of an accident. Anyway, the salesman at Enterprise Rental recommended I look at Hyundais. That is when I called Eckert Hyundai in Denton. I talked to Doug Peyton and he said they had 6 of the Tucson models on the lot. By the time my son and I arrived, they had sold two of them! Doug gave us the keys to take a test drive and I was very pleased with the car inside and out. I had a particular color and interior in mind and it was not available that day but was on order. I put a deposit down and picked up the car two weeks later. It was a positive car buying experince from when we walked in the doors of the dealership to "look" and I purchased the car. I would highly recommend Eckert Hyundai and Fleet manager/saleman Doug Peyton. More
Doug is such a great salesman! He made us feel so comfortable, we were in, out and in our new car in record time. He even entertained my 8 year old while we were waiting for finance! The finance gu comfortable, we were in, out and in our new car in record time. He even entertained my 8 year old while we were waiting for finance! The finance guy was wonderful as well. He fought to get us a much better rate than they originally quoted us. We are thrilled and I would highly recommend Eckert Hyundai and Doug Peyton! More
I had an excellent experience at Eckert Hyundai. I dealt with the Fleet Manager Doug and he was great. He quoted me a price on a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that was hundreds better than any other dealership and my with the Fleet Manager Doug and he was great. He quoted me a price on a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that was hundreds better than any other dealership and my father and I contacted every Hyundai dealership in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. When I got there, that was the actual price. There were no hidden fees or anything. The car was prepped up nice and Doug showed me everything about the car and was very thorough asking me if there was anything else he could do. The owner Mark Eckert came out and personally thanked us for our business. This is the best car buying experience both myself and my 60 year old father have ever had and I would highly recommend Eckert and Doug and look forward to doing more business with them in the future. I was completely disappointed with our experience at Eckert Hyundai. When the owner, Mark Eckert, responded to our inquiries for a new car, I was impressed. During our conversation, he went to great l Eckert Hyundai. When the owner, Mark Eckert, responded to our inquiries for a new car, I was impressed. During our conversation, he went to great lengths to explain how ethical they were. Mark sent me a quote in writing and said he would absolutely stand by it. I was ready to buy the car the next day when we visited the dealership. During my conversation with Mark, he told me the car was on order, but that if I didn't mind waiting 10 days he would have exactly what I was after at the price he quoted. All I needed to do was come in and put down a deposit. The next day we came to the dealership ready to buy the car. Mark was there and visible in his office, but he never came out to shake my hand or introduce himself. We were put with the fleet manager. The first order of business was for the fleet manager to tell us what a disaster his daughter was. The conversation, peppered with "F" bombs went on for quite some time despite my efforts to redirect him toward selling us a car. Finally, we gave him the keys to our trade to get an appraisal. After two and a half hours, he came back saying they were unable to find the quote mark had sent me. I told him it was on a web mail account and I could produce it for him...and I did. Thirty minutes later he came out with a price that was $1100.00 higher than the quote, no appraisal and telling us this was the best he could do. Mark had left the dealership for the day at this point. It was noon on Dec. 31st. The fleet manager told us this was not the day to be discussing a car that was not on the lot. Mark was the one who invited us in to discuss that very thing. All in all, after three hours, they totally wasted our time and did not honor their quote. I had been very concise with Mark about that quote and about the fact that it would be for a car on order. I wanted it all straight before I went in. Don't waste your time here. For all their rambling about honesty and ethics, I saw no indication of either More
