Vehicle Condition Not As Advertised I recently purchased a used vehicle from Mike Steven Volkswagen from out of state using Carguru.com. When discussing the details of the vehicle, the I recently purchased a used vehicle from Mike Steven Volkswagen from out of state using Carguru.com. When discussing the details of the vehicle, the salesman said it was "very clean" and "like new" condition which was believable considering it was a mid-late built 2013 model and only had 7500 miles. I had contemplated flying out to the dealership to take a look for myself and driving it back, but since it appeared like an easy sale, why bother? The sale went through easily. I accepted their advertised price and their financial department was great. The salesman arranged to have the vehicle driven to us at a reasonable price. The driver kept us informed of his whereabouts and delivered to our house on-time. Unfortunately that's where the honeymoon ended. The vehicle was filthy inside and out. Once we got it cleaned up; we noticed a fresh set of scratches on the driver side of the vehicle. It almost looked like someone dragged a trash container up the side of the vehicle. In addition, there was a thumb sized dent above the driver’s side door handle. I immediately contacted the salesman who said he didn't notice the marks before the vehicle left their lot. Regardless of where it occurred, on the lot or during the drive out, I expected the dealership to stand by their word. Unfortunately the only word they stood by was, "You have 7 days to return the vehicle if you are unhappy." Since I already paid $500 to have it delivered and it would cost a minimum of $575 to have it returned via auto carrier, and the repair cost is approximately $800 - it wasn't worth returning the vehicle. I called the salesman and he said he couldn’t do anything about the damages and that we got a great deal on the vehicle. I told him I would call back later to let him know what we decided. Instead of calling back the salesman, I reached out to the General Manager (GM). I told the GM that we were keeping the vehicle despite the situation, and that my only recourse appeared to be providing an unfavorable on-line review. He asked to give him 24 hours to research the situation. He did call back within 24 hrs and left me a voicemail to return his call. I did so and left several messages, but we never connected. Since I haven’t heard back within 72 hrs I assume he was calling to let me know he couldn’t do anything. More

Great Experience We had the pleasure of working with Travis from Steven Volkswagon. We explained to him what we wanted and he showed us three that were perfect for us We had the pleasure of working with Travis from Steven Volkswagon. We explained to him what we wanted and he showed us three that were perfect for us all within our price range. We had visited other dealerships that show us what we wanted but not in our price range. He was very friendly and patient too, we had our two children with us. ?? I would recommend anyone that is looking to buy a vehicle to visit him. Very friendly, patient and knowledgeable about their vehicles. We will be back for our next purchase and will buy from him. More
Stand behind your promises I visited Mike Steven VW only a week ago. I was lured in by the online price which is very misleading. My fault for not reading the fine print I gue I visited Mike Steven VW only a week ago. I was lured in by the online price which is very misleading. My fault for not reading the fine print I guess. I purchased a 2007 Tundra, signed the paperwork, and went on my merry way. After traveling 2 hours home I noticed one of the tires was low. I took it to the tire shop only to discover that there was a plug on the inner tread way too close to the sidewall. The tire needed to be replaced. I called the dealership and was told we could get a new set of four Toyo Open Country H/T 10 ply tires on the 50/50 program. Not a bad deal. I arranged a time to drive the 2 hours back to the dealership and have the work done. Upon my arrival my salesman who arranged the deal was a no-show. I got 3 different stories detailing why he wasn't there. More concerning to me was the tires we agreed on weren't there either. They were ready to install a very cheap 4 ply tire instead. 5 hours later and after numerous conflicting stories about where my tires were, I was given a loaner car and told it would get fixed and delivered to me. Well it was delivered today and as I suspected they aren't the tires we discussed. They installed a much cheaper (and according to my research much lower rated) tire. I got hosed my Mike Steven VW. Do yourself a favor and stay away. More

The car needed a few things and they would not negotiate! The price they had on the web (which they said they bought it at that price) was still 2k over what it was worth. They try to pass on the screw to you! We wasted to much time on that place! You have been warned if you are reading this! More
Bait and switch and a bit shady A bit shady of a dealership. I visited this dealer as I found a car listed on their web page that I was interested in. It was used, but very low mile A bit shady of a dealership. I visited this dealer as I found a car listed on their web page that I was interested in. It was used, but very low miles, almost new. I usually buy new cars, but this was close enough to new. The dealer, Sheldon was great. He was very friendly and knowledgable. Upon deciding I was interested in the car, I felt I should negotiate the price. The sticker price was almost $2000 higher than the online price. I wanted to negotiate based on the online price, which is what got me in the door to begin with. Sheldon (by company policy) stated he couldn't go any lower than the ONLINE price. I wanted to negotiate about $1000 off of that. He then brought in the big guns, Frank. When Frank came in, he told me that the online price is their cost and he couldn't sell it that low (not to mention negotiating I wanted to do below that. He then wanted to split the different between the ONLINE price and the STICKER price. If they are not going to sell it for the price online, why do they post that price online? Frank continued to mention that their is a disclosure that says that what is ONLINE is cost PLUS their fees. He even showed me the disclosure on the web page (which I had read several times before visiting). It says: "Price listed is our Cost. Our Cost does include the acquisition cost of the vehicle, purchase and acquisition buyers fees, transp., cost to maintain, market and advertise the vehicle, prep charges, repairs and recon cost and personnel cost allocations. Sales Tax, Title, License Fee, Registration Fee, Dealer Documentary Fee, Finance Charges, and Compliance Fees are additional to the advertised cost" No where on that disclosure does it say that the ONLINE price is not the actual price. As far as I am concerned, raising the price after listing it ONLINE is a bait and switch attempt. In any case, they eventually told it to me for the online price, but I couldn't negotiate a penny off of it. The next problem was that in the contract it didn't get written down that a few paint marks on the side would be buffed out. Sheldon and I agreed on it verbally. When I brought this up to Frank he was very irritated. They did the work, but I hope Sheldon didn't get in trouble as I can tell it is something Frank did not want to do. But it was made right at the end of the day. Finally, when I got the car, it came with one key. The keyless entry is built into the key and as I would find out, a replacement is over $300. I've bought many new and used cars over the years and each time it comes with 2 keys. It is almost assumed that a car will come with two. They should have disclosed to me that it only had 1 key. I mentioned this was a problem (I didn't know it was 1 until all the paperwork was signed and sealed). They said that they would contact the previous owner and try to get it. When bringing the car back to get buffed I asked and they said that the owner was still looking for it. Also, big xxxxxxto Troy. He was an excellent finance person--the best finance person I have ever dealt with at a dealership. Is this a horrible experience? Probably not... but there were a few shady practices done here. More

He I recently purchased a Volkswagon Bug and have to say I am pleased with my new car. I had Excellent customer service thru sales rep Chris Schmitz. He was very friendly, and was very knowledgeable. I read some of the other comments concerning their financing experience s, and have to say I did not have any issues. The finance gentleman's name was Seth, and was quick, and actually helped us get into the car quicker than we might have thought we would've if he didn't. I recommend anyone looking for a VW Bug to deal with the team I did. More
