Scollier, thank you for taking the time to address your concerns. We do allow test drives in the parking lot but since the vehicles are with us on consignment we unfortunately can not allow the vehicles to go onto the highway. We also like to offer all potential buyers to get their own third party inspections done on the vehicles prior to purchase. Corporate office will be made aware of this concern and investigate further.

So what good is it to hire a third party inspection if that third party and I are not allowed a highway test drive? That is the only way anyone can find out the true nature of a vehicle. That's how I discovered it after I bought it and test drove it on the xxxx highway. And the presentation in your sales piece portrayed it to be "this baby is solid and was restored to be a lasting tribute to the potential of the S30 platform, this car now looks and feels fresh from the factory but its WAY better!" You are instilling into the customers that hiring a third party is a waste of money. Another point concerning the gauges which you state: "The dash is outfitted with a custom set of Speedhut white-faced gauges including a GPS Speedometer tach temp oil pressure ammeter fuel level and (hint) a boost gauge!" Well it does not have all Speednut gauges. The Speedometer and Tach are Speedhut, the others are the original 240z gauges with the faces changed out. And the gas gauge needs replacing. Another misleading indicator. And the rack and pinion was the original 240Z rack and pinion. That need to be replaced since it had play in it for all the original mileage. So much for "well you can just about name it" with your statement "receipts detailing new nuts bolts fasteners seals weatherstrip gaskets jute carpet trim". Another misleading statement. Need I go on? Look Mr. Gateway we are talking about a $75,000+ vehicle. And it is NOT safe to drive under the present condition and could cause further damages. It will now require additional $$$$$ to bring it into a safe, reliable state like it should have been as portrayed by your false and misleading advertisement. If Gateway is going to represent itself as a high end, first class, and reputable dealer then it is your responsibility to represent quality, first class vehicle by your hiring third party inspections. I could have bought a xxxx nice new factory vehicle with a warranty that would have covered the problems I am experiencing. And according to the comments I have read from your customers, you guys have some questionable and irresponsiblities in your practicies. BE RESPONSIBLE! I acted in good faith!

Thank you for your reply. We are just offering buyers to get their own third party inspections since the inspector is able to go through out the car and give their expert opinion on problems that they may see that we can not. Corporate has been addressed of this situation.

Well there lies the problem, you fail to listen to a buyer in my first sentence reply. And for that matter, any of my reply. Bottom line company. Typical! It’s risky business buying a used car but worse from a car dealer. They are xxxxx, always were, always will be. Put the customer in the dark and feed them xx! Buy from an individual. They’ll let you test drive the vehicle and get a third party to check it out and test drive it on a HIGHWAY. This just validates my post and response “NEVER BUY A VEHICLE FROM GATEWAY CLASSIC CARS”! BUYER BEWARE!

And if you think I’m just slandering this company then read the comments: https://m.yelp.com/biz/gateway-classic-cars-of-dallas-grapevine Sample: I wish I could leave ZERO stars! Been here a couple times... each time- no one really bothers to acknowledge you. Today I found a car I was finally interested in. I asked one of the guys if I could look under the hood and he said yes, and he'd be right over. After 10mins of waiting for him I finally popped the hood myself. Then one of the minions stepped in behind me to tell me there is a big sign saying not to open the hoods. No sh:t Sherlock! So I informed him I had already asked for permission but was waiting on the other guy. With a snub by attitude he says to me - "well we're busy". Ok. Thank you for changing my mind and saving me 30k as I just turned and walked away.

UPDATE: From the misleading information provided by Gateway Classic Cars I am now finding out that the Transmission is shot, metal shaving found in the transmission. Will need a new Tranmission, Clutch and Flywheel ( clutch is burned out) and the rear end will need a total rebuild. And this was a professionally built, high end Restomod worth $$$$$$$???
