I visited Genesis of Freehold on Saturday 8/12/23 with my husband looking to purchase a 2023 G70. They had a loaner 2023 G70 with 3100 miles - I test drove it and ended up leaving a $2500 deposit as it was l husband looking to purchase a 2023 G70. I was told I can come back Monday and they would have it detailed and ready to go. I called the dealer when they opened at 9am Monday to notify them I would be coming around 1pm. This visit my father accompanied me - he's a big car enthusiast and a fan of Genesis. Not only was the car not detailed what so ever - after doing all the paperwork, after having my insurance flipped from my current car to the G70, after setting up the app on my phone, and after giving them $9500 in cash and a check for another $9500, did the dealer disclose the car had quarter panel paint work done and later further disclosed it had body work done - and they did not disclose this to me - they disclosed it to my father after he repeatedly asked questions about the car. In further inspecting the car we found additional flaws including a dent on the roof. We cancelled the deal and I was no longer taking the car. As stated earlier I had given them $9500 in cash approximately 45-60 minutes prior to this - I requested my cash, check and $2500 deposit back. They said the cash had already been placed in their safe and the "one" person that had access to it had already left for the day -- and that they can "possibly" (not definitely) have a check ready for me the next day. After about another 15-20 minutes of expressing my dissatisfaction of how they did not disclose to me that the car had quarter panel paint and body work done, and the fact that they can't give me my cash back that I had just given them 45-60 minutes prior --- they somehow miraculously got in the safe and gave me my cash back. I feel they were very deceitful and wanted to pawn this vehicle on me. Should my father had not accompanied me they would not have disclosed the paint/body work - goes to show they were not truthful with me about the vehicle and its history. If it were not for my father probing for more information I would of left with the car completely oblivious of its history and condition. In addition, the whole spiel about not being able to give me my cash back but then somehow being able to get into the safe again proves they are not truthful. I think they finally gave me the cash back so other customers didn't see or hear what was going on. After leaving the dealership I went to Genesis of Brunswick where I had the total opposite experience, couldn't have be more pleased, and ended up purchasing a brand new 2023 G70. If you want to ensure a great experience, great staff and a great deal go to Genesis of Brunswick!!! I was extremely disappointed with Genesis of Freehold and how they represented the brand. More

I love the GV80 - just a little smaller than I need. If it were not for this I would have purchased this car. Why? Two main reasons 1. The team at Genesis took the time to help me understand the vehicle and what was important to me in a car. In this fast paced world it's great to have someone take the time to help you out - big kudos to Casey Fisher at the Freehold dealership. If you are looking for a new or used vehicle and Genesis is on your radar (which it should be) then make your way to Freehold. this may sound like an advert for them - but honestly this is the first review for ANYONE I have completed in over 15 years!
