My Review of Honda of Freehold:
After 3-1/2 years of dealing w/responses from Svc. Dept. like: "Oh, that's the way it's made", "It's the way you drive" or (my favorite) "Yeah, Volkswagen really should use better parts for their *fill in the blank*", I thought even they couldn't top themselves with discourteousness, sloppiness and disregard for the customer. Bad enough we've only got 20K on our 2003 Passat, we've had to have front and rear (total) brakes replaced. First time only after 4 months! Timing and acceleration suck and have never been addressed, let alone fixed. Latest is the coupe de gras: Third time front and rears needed replacing. Out of warranty now. Took it elsewhere for 2nd opinion. Rears, yes. Fronts? No way. Saw them up on lift and compared to brand new-out-of-the-box rotors. A good 20K still left in them. Complained to VOA and David Michael. Cust. liason (?) Massone listened, blahblahblah and passed on to Lynch, VW Svc. Mgr. Lynch admitted: "Well, you complained about a noise in the front brakes too, and we COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING, so we decided to replace them anyway". Huh? $600 to appease a "complaining" customer? Isn't that like adding insult to injury?? So they didn't accidentally misdiagnose, they'd willing rip us off for $600 to placate us. Gee, thanks for that convoluted, fraudulent logic! Typical. DH made the mistake of asking them to pay for the brakes we did have replaced at outside source, but relented. Why go down to their level? Afterall, their near criminal behavior goes beyond reparations, and their, er..."apologies" and promises to "look into it" are worthless. DO NOT use this dealership. I don't know what the lone person here who recommended them was smoking, but I'd like some of that, too.

My Review of Honda of Freehold:
I was ripped off om an 06 Mercedes 350 Demo. They switched vehicles and sold me a model with less equipment and "passed it off" as the same. I didn't realize that until after the sale when I fiddled with all the gadgets and discovered all the bells and whistles I wanter weren't there. They're fast talkers and I was duped. Never again. So watch out!

My Review of Honda of Freehold:
I decided to purchase a vw golf diesel and started my search over the internet. The David Michael rep was higher than two other dealers. They finally matched the best offer. I went with David Michael because they said they could get the exact color I wanted. It took longer then they said but the color finally came. After picking it up I was disappointed with the prep, or lack there of. There were parts of the car that were not cleaned and all of the glass, windows and mirrors, were dirty. The first service (oil change) seemed okay. I also reported two issues. They said they had to order parts and would call me once they arrived. After a month or so and no call I called. After several more calls and no progress I called the sales rep. He seemed to help. But then I was told I would have to schedule an appointment before they could order the parts. The day before the appointment I called to verify the parts were there or would be there. I was told they would check and call me back. Obviously they did not call back. I called and was told the service rep was out for the day and I would have to call back tomorrow. During my first service I witnessed a very unhappy customer that was back for the third time to have (warranted) parts replaced. But the service dept could not find these parts and he left after several hours with no repairs. For me, this dealer has performed very poorly on service and not even satisfactory on sales. I would not recommend this dealer nor would I recommend a vw.

My Review of Honda of Freehold:
I was interested in purchasing a Volkswagon and rather than being honest with me, they mislead me into believing false information about the pricing and financing on their cars. The dealers were all very friendly and willing to help, but once it came to dealing with the actual pricing and sale they played many games and were unable to give me a straight answer. Once I began to have problems with them, they would not return my phone calls and I had to return there in person to sort out the issues. I had placed a large deposit on a specific car so that they would hold it, but when I was ready to pick up the car, I was informed that molding on the side of the car was damaged and would need to be replaced. They informed me they would order the parts right away and I would have to wait a week and in the mean time they would search for another car at another dealership. After a week, I went to the store only to find that they had not fixed the damaged car nor had they searched for another available model. In the meantime I had called several other dealships and found the exact same care and for a better price. When I tried to get my money back from the deposit, they assured me I would be credited within three days. It took more than three weeks to get my money back, and only after I called my credit card company and filed a complaint and traveled to the dealership to argue with the manager on duty. I would not reccomend this dealership to someone who is interested in purchasing a Volkswagon. There are plenty of better dealerships within an hour radius.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Kevin O'Hara

My Review of Honda of Freehold:
I have purchased 2 vehicles from this dealership in the last year. (2004 PILOT and 2005 S2000) There are 5 other competing dealers within a reasonable area (1 hour drive) yet I can not recommend the others. Kevin O'Hara in the "internet sales" department answered all my questions on the phone without the usual "Come on down--I'll make it happen--what will it take to get you in the car today" crap. NO PRESSURE and honest pricing and yes he gave a firm ultra-competitive quote on the phone that was later reduced a couple hundred to meet a price from a dealer 600 miles away. He was honest and actually asked me to think twice about ordering the front spoiler as I have high curbs that might be a problem. I never felt like a number either as I moved onto the Finance manager (Teddy). These guys are professionals and you will spend less time and get a great deal in the process.
