My 13' GTI has been recently giving me transmission issues. At the 20k mile maintenance appointment I brought up the issue to the service clerk at Hudson Valley VW. Felt like the typical response you give when you don't want to deal with something. I explained that I have at least 3 other friends/family with the exact same model car and year and there's do not experience the same as mine, so this being "normal" was not something I agreed with. At this point he asked the technician who performed the 20k mile service on my car to take it out for a test drive with me. The test drive should have been something offered first when I first brought it up instead of getting the "that's normal" response. The technician on the test drive agreed that something felt "weird", "not quite right". When we returned back from the test drive the technician informed the service manager of his findings which agreed with my assessment that something isn't right. I was told that they would put in a call into their resources at VW of America and will get back to me within a few days. After 2 weeks of not hearing from them I called them up to get an update and was told that the person with the update was out on vacation. I guess they don't document or put their computers to good use there. How can there be no documentation of an update on any paperwork or in their system of my issue. During this call I was asked for my # so that someone could call me back with an update. Again, you should already have my # if you're actively working on trying to resolve an issue with my car. They took my # and I was told someone would call me back within a day or two once the person who had my update was back from vacation. A week had passed and still no update. I called back again and this time I spoke with the person who was supposed to have an update but this person's update to me was "technician who's been working on your issue was out last week, I haven't had the time to check in with him about your issue, let me get your # and I'll call you back". At this point I am getting a bit upset. So once again in this call I received no update AND once again I am asked for my contact #. Fast forward another couple of weeks and still no update. Now it's been over a month since I reported the issue. I called yet again to this dealership and guess what. Person that has an update IS NOT IN TODAY. And once again I am asked for my contact #. You'd think they'd by now have recorded my contact# somewhere for future reference. The person who picked up today was pretty rude as well. I was trying to explain to her my disappointment(without being rude to her, or getting loud) and this female kept cutting me off, not allowing me to finish any of my sentences and was no help whatsoever. She even went as far as to suggest I go to another VW service center if I felt I was not getting the proper service from them, WOW. I have now called corporate and placed a formal complaint on Hudson Valley VW of NY and opened a case so that corporate can look into my issue. Hopefully they can get the ball rolling. P.S I did not purchase my VW from this dealership because as some of the other reviewers on yelp have said, they are un-professional in the sales department. I ended up purchasing it from VW of Kingston after experiencing forceful, bad sales tactics at Hudson Valley VW of NY. Unfortunately VW of Kingston is about a 45 minute drive for me. I may end up going there for service instead. More
I brought my 2010 golf in for a oil change I used their express service. I was in and out in less than a hour. They take the time to keep you updated as to the progress on your vehicle. When complted they went over a few items I wil need to have done shorly. I was nevered pressured to get thoses services done right away. Please keep up the good work. More

Happy? Not me. It ended much differently... and one person gets the credit - Keli Snyder at Hudson Valley Volkswagen. After having my car towed to the dealer, I received a call from the Service Advisor on Monday morning. Keli told me she would manage the repair process, indicated that she'd get the job done promptly (I of course was begging for a speedy repair given that I wanted to continue my trip!) and told me when she'd get back to me with an estimate - both for the work and the costs ASAP. She did... and she was professional, friendly, and put me at ease... not an easy task on a Monday morning after Labor Day weekend, and especially with me... impatient and not thrilled at all with my car! :-) The best part is the fact that Keli ended up having to move some mountains when the required part did not arrive the next day. Instead of making me wait, she saw to it to have a part driven across town, at HVV's expense, and completed the job AHEAD of the time she'd originally promised. Kudos to her AND the Tech's working in the shop. Awesome Job Guys and Girls!!! When all was complete, I showed up to pick up the car. Again, the experience was awesome. My invoice was waiting, the car was at the curb, Keli helped me transfer items from my rental and back into my TT, made sure that I inspected the work HVV had done and finally, offered me directions to my intended destination. Keli is a car person. She is very adept at doing her job because she loves cars, and via my experience, I am absolutely positive she is phenomenal at working with customers. She is a valuable asset to this dealership. For those coming to or considering Hudson Valley Volkswagen, I highly recommend both the work of the shop team and Keli Snyder! The last two times I have brought by Jetta in to Hudson Valley Volkswagen, I have had to bring it right back, either that day or the day after. During my 50,000 mile visit (which costed over $900 by the way), They asked if they could perform some sort of recall service which I allowed. On the way home from this, I found that my cruise control no longer worked. I called them back, but since it was within an hour of closing time, I was told that I could not bring the car back in that day. So, I had to take the 30 mile roundtrip again the next day. For this extra trouble, I was offered... NOTHING. To add insult to injury, about a week later, I received a 5% off coupon in the mail for my 50,000 mile service. Conveniently, after this ordeal, I did not receive a survey from VW to rate their performance. It seems that you only get those when they know they are going to get perfect ratings. For my 60,000 mile service (which consisted of an oil change and tire rotation for $112 (good God)), on the way home, I noticed on the interstate that my steering wheel would vibrate quite a bit at most speeds. This was not the case on my drive to VW. So, I turned around and brought the car right back to VW (thank God it was not too close to closing time). They balanced the tires and I was again on my way. Again, this time, no survey from VW. I am really not happy with Hudson Valley Volkswagen at this point. More

I cannot say enough about the service department at Hudson Valley Volkswagen. They were sincerely interested in helping me and I recommend them highly! HV Volkswagen replaced the headliner of my 2011 Jetta. The old headliner was drooping and I was already out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty period. Not only was the replacement done very well, but the dealership said I should contact Volkswagen of America to see if they would make an exception and pay for some of the repair even though it was off of warranty. I did just that, and VW covered the cost at 100% and gave me a beautiful loaner car for the day of service. The staff was very friendly, just as they always are at HV Volkswagen. I would definitely recommend this dealership! More
