Not so good service department I like HVV for their sales team, but the service team leaves a lot to be desired. First when I needed a new tire (bubble), they told me to come in, b I like HVV for their sales team, but the service team leaves a lot to be desired. First when I needed a new tire (bubble), they told me to come in, but didn't bother to see if they had the tire in stock first, so I made a trip with a bad tire for no reason. Then they didn't call once they got the tire in stock. Then when it came time for them to repair the rims, they quoted me 2 days, and at the end of 2 days, they hadn't called. Turns out they needed a 3rd day, and I don't even get a call to tell me that? Then it would be ready the "first thing" on that 3rd day. Apparently "first thing" is at 5:00PM, because I had to call at 4:30 to see if my car was done yet, and it wasn't. If you've dealt with this service department, I'm sure you've heard the phrase "we got really busy". Seems like they are always "really busy" fixing things besides my car. More

Incompetent and unprofessional I've taken my Volkswagens to Hudson Valley for service for the last time. The Service Department is poorly trained and understaffed. While the technicians do decent work, the lack of professionalism and competency on the front end of the department is unacceptable. Repeatedly, I've had to return to HVVW to have a job finished or fixed on my car that was supposed to be performed the first time during a regular service interval. In addition, one of my family's cars was damaged on the lot last year, and the staff applied some sloppy paint to try and cover up the scratch. When I addressed this with the former service manager, Melanie, by sending photos and documenting all communication, she played dumb and of course offered to have it fixed. However, my trust in their integrity began to wither. Most recently, there is a new service manager, but the sloppiness still persists. I booked a service appointment through their website and received a confirmation, but when I showed up, they did not have the appointment in their records, claiming it was a computer glitch they've been aware of. IF YOU ARE AWARE OF PROBLEMS AND DO NOTHING TO FIX THEM, YOU ARE LAZY AND INCOMPETENT. After I said I could just leave the car because I'd requested a shuttle, they claimed I lived too far for the service, even though I live within 15 miles of the dealership, AS IT IS ADVERTISED ON THEIR WEBSITE. When I pointed this out, Will (service manager) began to scramble for a driver, but as they were understaffed, the earliest they could provide was in an hour and a half. I rebooked the appointment for the following week, since they had wasted my time already. When I returned this week, I asked for the dept to investigate an issue as to whether or not it was covered under my existing warranty, as well as specific instructions for my tire rotation because of the tread difference on two new front tires. When Jason finally called me at the end of the business day to finalize the service transaction, I asked about the warranty issue and he said,"I don't know, but I can check for you and call you tomorrow." WHY DIDN'T YOU FIND OUT WHEN I ASKED YOU? Then, when I picked up the car after service hours, I discovered the tires had not been rotated specifically as I'd requested (because I wanted to keep the better tread on the front in the winter season). Jason called the following morning to apologize, but still no mention of the warranty question. Now during the first instance regarding this appointment, I had called back to speak to a manager. Neither the general manager or sales manager were on the lot, so I had no other choice but to file a complaint with the regional VW corporate office about this dealership's ineptitude. I expect more efficiency and better performance from a VW service dept. They are constantly bungling up service, tripping over their mistakes, and wasting my time and customer loyalty. I absolutely do not recommend this dealership. More

Hudson valley VW in Wappengersfall I came from having a Mazda and dealing with that dealership to dealing with VW's dealership and let me tell u, its night and day. Great Experience I brought my car in for routine service after recently moving to the area. As the part was not immediately available they gave me a loaner car to use until repairs could be made the following morning. When I picked up my car the following day I noticed my left rear blinker was out. They replaced it immediately at no charge. I even got a coupon for a free car wash as the service department was short staffed because of the holidays! More

I' I bought my 2013 TDI Passat from this dealer. The sales experience was the best I ever went through, and I've bought from many different dealers. I've also had three service visits since my purchase and have no complaints. Two of the service visits were for routine maintenance, and one was to replace the Blue DEP injector that malfunctioned. The Blue DEP injector failed again after a week, but this dealer went above and beyond to re-replace the unit. (I guess that's technically a 4th visit) I was sick as a dog at the return visit, and the service counter folks recognized that. They kicked the service mechanics into high gear to minimize my waiting time and I really appreciated that. On my last visit I went in for scheduled maintenance and an alignment since the car was pulling to the right after the last winter and resulting potholes. It was discovered that my tires were beyond useful life and a fair price was quoted for new tires. This was unexpected work on a busy Saturday, but the scheduled and unscheduled work was all completed on time. I have no regrets, would buy from this dealer again, and will recommend them to any VW folks nearby. More
