Had to spend $1500 for repairs that were necessary from Colonial Ford to make the car safe to drive for my 16 year old son, 2 weeks after purchasing it. They sold me a car that had a speed limitation ( Colonial Ford to make the car safe to drive for my 16 year old son, 2 weeks after purchasing it. They sold me a car that had a speed limitation (wouldn’t go over 68 MPH) and at one point was a fleet vehicle, without any knowledge or disclosure. I had to have a second key made (car only came with 1 key), have the MyKey limitations removed (Ford utilizes MyKey to control driver settings), the transmission flushed and filled, and have the keyless entry reprogrammed. The cabin air filter hadn’t been touched, and was so collapsed I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove it. Their “touch up paint” was atrocious, and will have to be professionally corrected. I felt like I was buying a solid car from a reputable dealer, however, after having to go out of pocket for this $1500 for necessary repairs, as well as an additional $500 to replace the windshield that was so scratched from bad wiper blades it was a hazard, that may not have been the case. I’ve reached out to them to see if they’d stand behind their sale, but it’s been radio silence. These were not cosmetic or custom repairs, these were repairs necessary to have the car perform safely. Stay away. More
The worst thing there is, I didn't buy his car, I was scammed. I went to that place from Lawrence ma, to buy a ranger Rover 2016, and first they gave it to me without registration and without insurance, scammed. I went to that place from Lawrence ma, to buy a ranger Rover 2016, and first they gave it to me without registration and without insurance, they only put my license plate of my old vehicle and I measured account, because my insurance called me to let me know. In the first month, I vote all the oil, and I had to take it in crua, I had to pay it $400 because it's an hour's drive, then I had bad control arms, I called them and I told him that they had to cover that and they didn't want to, and then I had to spend more than $5,000 dollars, on the leash and the pully, Differential, control arm and oils, I always made the claims and they didn't do anything, today I went to make an exchange and he didn't want to either, now the car has suspension failure I no longer have money for the fix and I'm stuck in a loan, my only solution is to call the bank and deliver the car, and my credit to the floor, these people play with the effort of the sweat of the client's work, but God will charge him More
I wish I had known about their nickname of Hugg em and Screw em before we set foot in this place. Back in June we looked at an SUV for my son. We brought it to our mechanic to look over and they said it Screw em before we set foot in this place. Back in June we looked at an SUV for my son. We brought it to our mechanic to look over and they said it was good but that the bumper had some issue. When we talked to the salesman, Tyler Sousa he told us they would replace the bumper for us. We told him that we were in a time crunch as my son was going back to college and he assured us we would have it in time. We signed the papers and then Tyler left on vacation without telling anybody what we were promised. The Service Manager did manage to reach Tyler who confirmed that he promised the bumper to be replaced before the weekend. The service Manager told us there was no way it could be done in that time frame but that we would order it and it would be ready to be done Thanksgiving week when my son was home again. November roles around and they never ordered the bumper. This was 5 months later!!! He assured us it would be ready come Christmas. My son did not make it home at Christmas but we scheduled with the service department for January 11th. We dropped of the car at 10 and was told it would be done in about an hour. At 12:15 after not hearing anything I started calling. It took me until 2pm until I was able to get anyone to answer the phone. I was told that it would be ready at 2:30. We go to get it and the new bumper was dirty and had a giant scratch on it. We showed to the man at service and he brought it back in. When it came back out it was buffed about a bit and was better but still scratched. We were told that they didn't have enough time to get the bumper properly painted and buffed. I can't imagine why it would take 7 months to do this as we started the process in June and it was now January. It was apparent the the "new" bumper came from a scrap yard and was just thrown onto the SUV. Do not use this company. It is the worst! More
If I could leave a zero score on the car I would. The car has had many issues but as I already knew it’s a used car with high miles so I guess it’s nobody’s fault. The way it was handled from start The car has had many issues but as I already knew it’s a used car with high miles so I guess it’s nobody’s fault. The way it was handled from start to finish is 5 stars +. Susan the finance director made it happen with a lot of work and dedication. The 3 other dealerships I went to prior could not get me approved. They said sorry and moved on. At Huggard & ewing the finance lady came out herself to talk with me and asked about other options she didn’t give up and made it happen. That wasn’t were she was done either. When the mechanical issues came up she was the one that handled it. I’m not sure why her title is finance when she handled everything. If she’s not related to the owners you couldn’t tell because she really cares as well as Chris in service he really cares also. I’m not happy with the car and all the problems it has but I have to be honest about the way the dealership handled it thats worth the 5 star review. More
Worst car buying experience of my life. Where do I start? How about the fact that they FORGED MY SIGNATURE on a purchase and sales agreement and sent that to my bank for the WRONG AMOUNT. T Where do I start? How about the fact that they FORGED MY SIGNATURE on a purchase and sales agreement and sent that to my bank for the WRONG AMOUNT. This locked me into a loan that was higher than it should have been with higher payments. Sounds like interstate wire fraud to me. Their excuse was that maybe they forged my name because they could't reach me for some reason and didn't want to hold up the sale. Total BS, I could rarely get people on the phone when I called and they rarely returned messages. There was no reason for a new P@S to begin with, we filled one out on the day I made a deposit. The forged P@S showed no down payment at all. I had to cancel that loan and initiate a whole new loan for the vehicle for the correct amount. If I was not desperate for a vehicle I would have walked away at that point. The car was sold to me with the assertion that ALL maintenance was done on the vehicle before I even test drove it. That turned out to be patently false, I have documents from their own system that shows that the car needed service from a Honda dealer because the cruise control, lane keep assist and several buttons on the steering wheel were not working. Their own technician stated this in the notes, the salesman should have known this. These issues should have been fixed before I ever picked up the car and they were not. I have made no less than 7 trips to Huggard and three to the Honda dealer to get issues worked on and/or fixed. For an issue I had with rattling coming from the rear of the car they stated that I needed new shocks in the rear. They charged me a deductible for the work even though I was told at the time of the sale that their warranty covers everything with not deductible. The aftermarket parts that they used not only failed to fix the issue with the rattling but it also resulted in a VERY poor ride. The car was smooth over bumps before the work and now handles them very poorly. To fix the issue THEY created they wanted me to pay for parts and labor to replace the shocks with OEM parts. That issue is still unresolved. No one from their management team has ever reached out to me regarding any of my issues there. On the day I picked up the car, one of their owners had me sign a new purchase and sales before they would give me the keys, I am assuming they have trashed all the old copies but I have my own. When I told him about the forgery (in front of other customers) he couldn't get me out that door fast enough. I have read in other poor reviews where they bank on the fact that they have been in operation for over 70 years. Well not with the current owners they haven't. Buyer beware, go somewhere else. More
