Reason for Visit: Service

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Hyannis Honda:
I brought Honda van in for service. As part of service they performed an oil change. After oil change, oil pan was leaking. I brought car to a local shop and they informed me that the dealer must have stripped the threads off the pan when they did the oil change as there was now a self tapping drain plug installed which was/is now leaking. Local service guy told me that they should have replaced the pan as stripping the threads is indicative of poor workmanship and self tapping bolts like this do not work well with aluminum oil pans as they should be aware as they tend not to seat properly
Called Hyannis Honday and spoke with Patrick McPherson, he told me that it wasn't their fault. These pans strip all the time - sometimes after 5 sometimes after 100 oil changes - not their fault -- and they wouldn't pay for the damage that they did to the car during their service to it.
Local guy is still shaking his head as I am I.
I refered my complaint to the Massachusetts Consumer Complaint office within the Attorney Generals office.
Needless to say - I won't go back and recommend that others find more responsible service departments to repair their vehicles.

My Review of Hyannis Honda:
This dealership are the biggest scumbags, they lie right to your face. I was told I could pick up my car one on a Friday, then it was Monday then sometime next week, finally after calling I was told to come in, after waiting hours i left with a loaner car because my car was still not ready. After getting my car I was to get it inspected I showed up at the time I was told to and the salesman says that the inspection machine is down....I bet my right arm he was lying to me, why wouldn't he have called me to let me know the machine was down, why wait for me to arrive, just to piss me off. I was told i would receive a check in the mail for the junk value of the car i traded in, after 90 days i still had not received the check and complained and was told because the cost of handling the car I would not receive a check....THEY LIED, I confronted the sales manager about this and he yelled at me to not speak to him in that tone, I walked out. I ordered an armrest when I had purchased the vehicle after 90 days and no response i was told that they had received it but it was sent back, I never received a call and i never had a message on my voice-mail, I bet my left arm they never even ordered it in the first place. Even the employees hate this place.

In short if you want to be lied to and nickel and dimed to death get your honda here....i personally wish i had never even gotten a honda its brand new and i hate the hell out of that car.

My Review of Hyannis Honda:
Price was much higher then I could buy the car elsewhere (off cape). Didn't seem to even care if I bought the car someplace else. Took phone calls on his cell phone while we were trying to buy the car. My wife told him that he was rude and he gave her a shy smile as if to say "I know".
Their service department is excellent, too bad their sales department hasn't learned from them.
I will take my car there for service, but I will never ever buy a car from them.

My Review of Hyannis Honda:
Wanted to purchase a new 2007 Honda Civic EX. Live near by so thought we would use a local dealership.
Salesman was not responsive to our needs. Did not try to locate a car that had the options desired. Said what he had on the lot was it. When we said we could be enticed to purchase a car on his lot right away and could he do a little better on the price he said "You must be kidding, these cars fly off the lot every day at msrp so I can't do any better on the price." He was very negative and unhelpful.
Called my buddy off Cape for a reference and found the right car at a discounted price. Did all the dealing over the telephone and picked up the car w/in 24 hours. Treated to hot cookies and coffee while we waited for the car and entertained by the witty, pleasant sales staff at Clair Honda.
Swung by Hyannis Honda out of curiosity a week later and the car we asked to purchase at a reasonable price was still for sale despite the claim that "these cars fly off the lot every day at msrp".
Bottom line is save alot of money and be treated like a human being by going off-Cape to the real auto dealers.

My Review of Hyannis Honda:
I have been buying and servicing cars for over 40 years and have purchased six new and used cars at Hyannis Honda. The folks are allways very strait forward and competive with pricing. They are very nice and I like that I see the same faces evry visit. The Service Department is top notch. They have no appointment oil changes and very good prices. I love the lazy boy recliners and big screen tv in the waiting area.

My Review of Hyannis Honda:
My only experience with this dealer was six years ago when I was shopping for my Accord. Because of their idiotic treatment, I never had cause to return. I had been carefully pricing Accords, reading the sites like Edmunds and getting some serious help with invoice numbers, dealer incentives, etc. and what to expect for a fair price. After getting all the dealership information on which ones were in a reasonable distance from the cape (lived there at the time), it was time to start visiting and test driving.

My husband and I met with a salesguy who quickly passed us along to a sales manager (whether or not that was an actual title, I don't know). We briefly talked numbers and we questioned why his were so much higher than other dealers. He gave us the advertising fee talk and a bunch of other bogus reasons, but the finishing touch was when he whipped out this little binder and showed us his invoice price. It was clearly something he had typed up himself on Word, and tried to make it look official by using the binder. I pointed out to him that his invoice price was $600.00 more than what everyone else's was, including the Edmunds site. (Now how could that be???) He had no explanation and kept repeating that it was definately right. OK, then. I went later in the week to Barry's Honda in Dartmouth and got everthing I wanted in the Accord, including a better price. And (shocker) their invoice did not include the extra 600 bucks.
