Employee(s) Dealt With: Al Amrami & Scott Miranda

My Review of Ira Toyota/Scion of Tewksbury:
We recently purchased our Toyota Rav4, limited from Ira (Tewksbury) and worked with Al Amrani and Scott Miranda.

Our initial impression was frankly OK and we were pretty sure we won't work out a deal there. The dealer asked questions about our life-style and see what fits well for us. But we knew exactly what we wanted and so found these questions irrelevant and a little annoying.

What Al didn't know was that we had done our homework quiet well. We even took my computer along with us to play around with the numbers and see if the total cost fit in our budget. We suggest that you guys do something similar as it really helps to work out a better deal structure!

Anyway, in about 20-min or so things started to look positive and our first impression of Al changed. We found him to be rather nice, friendly and someone who was trying hard to make the deal happen. Like any dealer, he did try selling a black SUV that was on the lot. However, he was not very pushy about it and once we said NO to that SUV, he moved on to work out a deal for the SUV we wanted. After a few hours we finally agreed on a pretty good deal and we were also able to apply my $1000 student credit towards the payment.

When it came to pick up the SUV though, I must admit we weren't very prepared with the extended warranty pricing/packages the dealers tend to push the very last minute. I wish we had read more about it and after sitting with Scott Miranda for 2 hours or so landed up taking an 8-year/75000 warranty. We frankly were not very sure about it though, however Scott mentioned that we could cancel it within 30-days if weren't happy about it.

We came home, thought about it and realized that the extended warranty was not for us since we were not sure about our driving habits and that money could go towards another car we plan to buy. Having read about the weird stories about warranty cancellation on the internet, I must admit that we were a little worried.

I called Scott the very next day and to my surprise they did keep their word. In about 2 days Al emailed me saying that our extend warranty was canceled and that they will email us and updated agreement.

Overall, Al and Scott were quiet helpful. They even took care of the car mats that came with our new SUV. Apparently it was bad and the threads were already falling off. So they put in order for a new one right away. Hopefully I get mine in the mail soon!

My suggestion for you guys is --
(1) before you walk into any dealer location, read about them, DO YOUR HOMEWORK on the car with all the pricing and APR that's available. Read discussion board information and only after all that make an offer.
(2) Also, make sure you take everything in writing, because the dealers work with a lot of deals in a day and so they tend to forget things. For e.g. it was not sure if my car had mudguards, but I got them to write it down when we made a deal and was able to show them during the day of pickup and not pay extra for it.
(3) Oh and please read before you sign anything. On the day of the pickup, I signed a different higher pricing for the car by mistake and my husband noticed the change in the price. We told Scott about it and showed him a previous price copy we had agreed upon. He took care of it right away.

Hope my experience help you new car buyers, all the best!

My Review of Ira Toyota/Scion of Tewksbury:
From the moment I first walked into the dealership, I was given friendly and helpful service. The Salesmen was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable. The Finance Manager was also easy to work with even though my credit history is limited, which complicated the process of financing the vehicle. My phones calls were always returned promptly, and although the vehicle I wanted wasn't at the dealership, they quickly found it for me.

My Review of Ira Toyota/Scion of Tewksbury:
I did my research and noted that a couple of years back this dealership turned a corner or tried to. Many glowing five star reviews. So we went to Ira Toyota of Tewksbury to take a look at one of the cars there. It was a bizarre experience. yes they were nice, and yes they were friendly, but it stops there. One individual we had contact with looked like he should never have been let out of Russia much less into this country. They all gave me the willies especially him. As for the car, well it had a gallon or two of gas in it when we took it for a test drive (the get gas light was on) and the oil barely showed on the dipstick. The car had a peculiar whine and really strange dark stains in the driver side footwell. It also had some rust problems. we didnt buy. No there wasnt any high pressure sales nor were there games to get us to deal. when we said no thanks we were allowed to leave unmolested. I dont use that word lightly. Something about the place gave me a very very uncomfortable feeling and I will not go back nor would I recommend them. (I am a senior with a mensa level IQ). I wish I could explain the 'creepiness' better. (Our next stop was Wakefield Toyota and I would recommend them)

Employee(s) Dealt With: Kenny Leung and Hitesh Patel

My Review of Ira Toyota/Scion of Tewksbury:
As a salesman who takes great pride in the quality of his work, it's always good to find others who demonstrate the same professionalism in their work. Kenny Leung did a superb job of walking that fine line of representing his company and his prospective customer. Likewise, Hitesh Patel could not have been more helpful or adroit in getting me through all of the paperwork, financing, etc.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Kevin Thiphavong/Jonny Dang

My Review of Ira Toyota/Scion of Tewksbury:
IRA Toyota in Tewksbury offers friendly and customer focused service. I was immediately greeted and linked with a friendly resource when arriving at the site. At arrival I knew what I wanted. Vehicles I was interested in were immediately pulled up for me to test drive. Kevin offered an array of options that would benefit me during negotiations. The options were focused on building a long term consumer relationship with IRA.

The entire process was focused on my satisfaction from vehicle selections to running numbers on a calculator. The managers were very flexible with my trade in vehicle; given I was the only owner and kept it well maintained. The entire process took no longer than four hours. Given the time of day I arrived at the dealership, we ran into closing hours when singing documentation with the finance manager. I was fine with rushing the paperwork in order to tie up the deal. However, I would strongly advise that for less experienced individuals in business law area not to rush the contract signing during closing hours. Individuals should not run the contract (signing) process at/after dealership's closing time just in case any questions arise, which may require more time to discuss. In a positive perspective it goes to show that the staff will work with a consumer even after business hours.

I am overall satisfied with the experience at IRA Tewksbury and would definitely do business with them in the future.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Kenny Leung/ Johnny Dang

My Review of Ira Toyota/Scion of Tewksbury:
We visited this dealership on April 16th 2009 to buy a Toyota Sienna. Sales consulate Kenny Leung was welcomed us and spent his time with us to explain about the futures of the van. He was very friendly and answers all questions which we were asked about the van. After we chose the van he arranged the test drive and my wife and I were very satisfied about the van.
Then we talked about the price of the Sienna, that time I want to trade my VW Golf and finance the balance of the Sienna’s price. General Sale’s manager Johnny Kang was sat down with us negotiated the price of the van, which we (my wife and I) were decided to pay according our budget. We were very satisfied of their care and service. Between 3 to 4 hours the deal was successfully completed. We never thought to get Toyota sienna at that price which they offered us. My thanks to Johnny and Kenny and I will recommend this dealership to my friends. After I picked up my van about 2 months later Kenny called me and asked about the van also he said if any issues or concern to call him right away. Now we are very happy and enjoying our new van.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Al Amrani, Johnny Dang, Erik

My Review of Ira Toyota/Scion of Tewksbury:
My husband and I went into Ira Toyota in Tewksbury, MA just to look and get an idea of what our options were. Al Amrani approached us and introduced himself and asked he if could be of any help. We still were not sure what we were interested in so we explained to him we were just beginning our search and thought we were interested in either the Vennza or Rav4. He sat with us and asked us some questions and also answered many questions that we had. From our conversation we all decided I should test drive a Rav4, which I did and was very happy with it. We returned to the show room still not convinced of what we really wanted considering this was our first time out looking at cars. Al realizing we were still on the fence explained the Toyota leasing policy and the advantages of the program. My husband being the money person in our family was instantly interested. At this point Johnny Dang joined us and again emphasized the program and it's advantages. At this point my husband thought I should look at the Rav4 Limited. Al again got us the car for a test drive and I fell in love with it, although we were still leary to make a decision as we had just started looking. Johnny crunched the numbers and let us know what he felt was the best offer they could make us, which was a very good offer. We explained that it was tempting but we still wanted to look at a couple of other cars. They understood and said the deal was there as long as the car was available. (It was a 2009). As we were leaving Johnny came running back saying his manager told him to lower the offer. At that point we decided to put down a small down payment to hold the car for 24 hours. We did look at one other car, the Honda CRV, and then went home to think about it. We decided rather quickly that the Rav4 was superior to the CRV and the offer Toyota made was a good one. The next day we went back to finalize the deal. Once again Al and Johnny could not have been more helpful. At this poing Erik the finance person took over and he too was very professional, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. We never felt pressured to buy or lease a car and everyone was most helpful. Al took all the time we needed to answer all of our questions before during and after the leasing process. He also made a point of taking us to the repair shop and introducting us to the people in the shop. My husband and I really felt like we were leasing a car from a friend not a salesman. I have a very good feeling that we will be life long Toyota customers.
