(Deal# 95502) The paperwork went fairly smoothly and the sales person (Jamier Gonzalez) was courteous and professional. However there was an inordinate amount of time waiting for the release of the vehicle and then learned we would be responsible for a 50 mile shuttle back to the dealership for Jamier. Also discovered when we got home there was an obvious scrape on a small section of the lower right panel. (Have pictures to document.) Although we recognize our responsibility to look over the vehicle carefully, believe the dealership is ultimately responsible for noticing and documenting those scratches and could have mostly buffed them out in their shop. (No such damage was reported in the inspection report.) Overall am satisfied with the vehicle and the price was fair, but believe the dealership was lacking in the above mentioned areas. Ed Olson Scarborough, Maine This is an edit to my review. In fairness didn’t give the dealer an opportunity to rectify the damage issue so was pleasantly surprised when Jason Edwards, the used car manager, contacted me uninitiated and offered compensation. A fair settlement check was then sent. So ultimately the true test of a business is how they respond after a sale and IRA of Danvers met this test well. So overall give them high marks. Ed Olson More

I went in Saturday to buy a used Camry but because my insurance company was closed I had to wait until Monday to take it home as they needed the insurance binder. Monday morning I got a call from Sadik , insurance company was closed I had to wait until Monday to take it home as they needed the insurance binder. Monday morning I got a call from Sadik , the sales rep working with me... he called because he was happy to inform me that he had my car detailed inside and out, the registration was all set, the inspection sticker was in place and it was all gassed up waiting for me. Then he wanted to know what time I was coming. Had to tell him I wouldn't pick it up until Tuesday because I was recovering from surgery and actually couldn't drive myself so I had to wait until my son could take me. Tuesday we went out and Sadik had the day off... nobody knew anything about my car... They couldn't even find it on the lot. When they did find it it had not been detailed, the registration had not been done, there was no new inspection sticker and there was no gas in it either. Nobody could explain to me what happened. What they did tell me to do was go home and on Wednesday they would email and snail mail me my new registration. Then they told me I would have to go and get the inspection sticker on my own. I was livid! When I reminded them that I had already paid for them to take care of all that ...it was written into the purchase and sales agreement they said that they would be sending me a check to cover the cost of an inspection. They did not offer to detail the car even after they admitted it had not been detailed. I would never recommend this dealership. Once you sign that purchase and sales agreement they don't give a sh** about following through... and the thing is, this isn't just some lame gesture out of the side of the mouth.. you pay for license, registration and inspection fees. It's all part of the contract!!! It's in writing! I AM SHOCKED AT THEIR VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS..OR LACK THEREOF! IRA Toyota... 2 thumbs down!!!👎👎 More
If you want to buy a CPO that has a damaged headliner, broken vanity mirror, and promises that go unfilled, then buy here. The interior section of the CPO worksheet wasn't even filled out. I should have b broken vanity mirror, and promises that go unfilled, then buy here. The interior section of the CPO worksheet wasn't even filled out. I should have been more thorough, but it's not all on me. Was told body panel damage would be taken care of it wasn't. Then after calling the sales person multiple time it was pretty obvious it wasn't going to happen after the sale. He told me we need the car there, lol, I know that, you were supposed to call me with dates to bring it in. More
Dishonest sales practices made us to walk out from the dealership. The sales manager claimed that my credit score was not enough as a tier 1 credit which was total B.S. as my credit score numbers are exc dealership. The sales manager claimed that my credit score was not enough as a tier 1 credit which was total B.S. as my credit score numbers are exceptional and close to 800. So based on the score they decided to flip the initial lease quote and gave me higher monthly lease numbers and requested to put around $500 down. I went to another Toyota dealership and was approved for tier 1 credit and got the lease numbers lower then Ira quote me on. Dishonest practice. Stay away from them More
Dishonest Service Advisors - You CANNOT Trust Ira After bringing my 2015 Toyota in for state inspection, I was told that the car had failed safety tests, and was given the dreaded red Rejection sticke After bringing my 2015 Toyota in for state inspection, I was told that the car had failed safety tests, and was given the dreaded red Rejection sticker. Due to a failed side marker light, moisture in a lens assembly and "failed performance test" battery, I was advised not to drive the car off the lot without paying $537 (for new bulb, new lens assembly and a new battery). Looking at the state inspection report, there was no mention of a battery problem. I replaced the bulb myself for $6 and spent 30 minutes draining and resealing the lens assembly (it appears a loose gasket allowed some rain in). I had the car retested the same day and it passed with flying colors. I can understand wanting to up-sell parts and services, but there's a line that was excessively broken here. There was no need to try and hold my car captive for over $500 when $6 in parts and some quick labor was all that was needed to get it back on the road. I do expect to have to replace my battery in the coming months, but contrary to Ira's advise it was not necessary to pass inspection, nor was a brand new lens assembly. I will not be returning to Ira for future service or car purchases and would advise anyone else to steer well clear too. More

Blake Rickerson and his team are the best in the business! The buying process was effortless and everything was handled for us. They made the impossible possible for me and my family. Misleading and deceptive All of the bad jokes and anecdotes you've heard about dishonest car dealerships take flesh in this place. Here is today's experience: I was mislead All of the bad jokes and anecdotes you've heard about dishonest car dealerships take flesh in this place. Here is today's experience: I was mislead and, in my belief, defrauded by the service associate who convinced me to purchase a wheel alignment and balance on my 2018 Toyota Corolla. I brought the vehicle in for standard 15,000 mile service which is included in my lease. The associate told me that they "recommend" cars receive an alignment and balance every year, and that I was six months overdue. This service cost $140. I told him that I was not experiencing any of the symptoms of a mis-aligned wheel and questioned the need for this (the car was also at only 13,000 miles) but he persisted, making me feel like I was irresponsible for not moving forward. Not surprisingly, the computer readout showed that the wheels were in almost perfect alignment with the exception of a small discrepancy in one tire -- hardly anything to warrant an expensive alignment. After the fact, after I did some research and found that wheel alignments are recommended every 2-3 years or when symptoms present -- not every year as the technician falsely indicated. I called the service manager to express my disappointment in feeling duped, and he was cold and unsympathetic, saying that I had "authorized" the service and they had performed it. Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Regulations 940 CMR 5.00 states that "It is an unfair or deceptive act or practice for a repair shop to make or authorize to be made in any manner or by any means a statement which it knows to be or, in the exercise of reasonable care, should know to be untrue or misleading including, without limitation, the following types of statements: (a) That repairs are necessary or desirable when such is not a fact." I believe that is exactly what happened in this instance. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and will be following up with Toyota corporate offices. Other experiences I've had at Ira include: -- a service technician having an accident in my vehicle while performing an oil change because he was driving recklessly around the garage -- a service technician failing to replace the cap on a part that was serviced triggering a "Check Engine" light and another trip to the service department. -- overheard misogynistic remarks between male associates -- salesmen playing basketball in the showroom and bouncing the ball off new vehicles You would do well to find an honest mechanic in your neighborhood, or another Toyota dealership that deals honestly with customers.
