Excited, I filled out an online form to gather more information. On the morning of 1/8/2024, a dealership representative contacted me via phone to confirm my interest, placing me on hold briefly to check the vehicle's availability on the lot. Once confirmed, I was scheduled for a same-day 6 pm appointment (1/8/2024) with a Used Car Sales Consultant named Brooklynn McGlothin, who promptly reached out via email and text to confirm our meeting. However, on the appointed evening, battling terrible weather and traffic, my wife and I made the 1.5-hour journey to Jeff Haas Mazda, arriving shortly after 6 pm. To our surprise, Cuong Nguyen welcomed us, explaining that Brooklynn had just left and he would be assisting us. Seated at his desk, he swiftly requested my ID but was momentarily called away by another staff member. After a brief wait, Cuong returned with my ID and delivered unfortunate news – the car we came to see had a "click click" noise when opening and closing the door. In an attempt to remedy the situation, Cuong showcased "similar" vehicles on the lot, all priced $6,000 higher. Despite expressing our specific interest in the initially identified car, Cuong went to get the keys. Upon his return, he shared additional disappointing news - the car was no longer available. Allegedly, it had been sent to Ford earlier that day for servicing, but they deemed it irreparable, sending it to auction. Questioning the authenticity of these claims, especially given the challenging storm conditions, we confronted the dealership about what appeared to be inappropriate business practices and an attempted bait-and-switch. Frustrated and disappointed, we left. The overall experience at Jeff Haas Mazda left us with an unsettling vibe from the beginning. As cash buyers seeking our child's first car, I was dismayed by the entire encounter. Upon reaching home, I discovered that Brooklynn McGlothin was not listed in the employee directory on the dealer's website, raising further concerns about the transparency of their operations. More

I bought my Mazda CX-30 from Jeff Haas in Katy, TX . I have paid my car in full on 9/25/23 (No Finance Needed)..On 10/25/2023 I received a letter from Mazda Financial Services saying that my balance is I have paid my car in full on 9/25/23 (No Finance Needed)..On 10/25/2023 I received a letter from Mazda Financial Services saying that my balance is 15k with a payment due date of 10/25/23. I Ask for the Store Manager and operator gave me nobody, Finally, after 3 tries ask for the Finance person that wrote my deal and explain the situation. The Financing person Memphis did not even apologize for his mistake. Seems dealership cares very little about customers! More

In midsummer I bought a used car from Jeff Hass Mazda driving in from Bryan. It was tagged with a maintenance plan which I repeatedly stated I didn't want. 2 oil changes, a tracking device and door prote driving in from Bryan. It was tagged with a maintenance plan which I repeatedly stated I didn't want. 2 oil changes, a tracking device and door protector for $1500. I was told I couldn't buy the car without it. Then I see in another review when someone was going to leave rather than pay for this same plan, the dealership canceled it for him. Hind sight tells me I should have left, but I proceeded to sign papers with little explanation. Just sign here and let's move on. When I got home I read thru them. I had to sign a form saying I agree to the purchase of the plan (which I did not) but it also stated I did not need to purchase plan to buy the car. WHAT ! That's not what I was told, but the form also stated anything verbal would not be upheld. So I called the G.M., Todd, and he stated no plan no car ( again verbal) then he tells BBB he never discussed it with me. On this form they also put 0.00 as purchase price for the plan, but added $1500. to accessories on the invoice. I bought no accessories. Just a plain Jane no bells or whistles. If this is their policy to push this plan why hide it? I know 2 people who bought cars at 2 different dealerships and were told this plan is optional. Didn't have to purchase it. So, BUYER BEWARE ! There are dealerships that won't make you purchase something you don't want. Would not recommend them to anyone. More

Sales guy was great, but the financial department was extremely pushy trying to sell extra warranties. There were also a lot of hidden fees that brought the total cost of the vehicle thousands of dollars above the list price. And they never sent me the new licence plates after purchasing the vehicle until after the paper plates ran out and I had to call them. More

Drove from Austin to Houston because Jeff Haas Mazda had "no dealer markups or hidden fees" written all over their website. Got to the dealership and "no fees" doesn't include $1500 for garbage addons like 3rd party GPS tracking (that I didn't ask for or want) and several hundred dollars in plastic film on the door edges and other things. After threatening to walk several times they capitulated and removed those from the deal. As far as financing goes I had been pre-approved through Capital One for a 1.9% loan. Unfortunately Haas "policy" is to make it extraordinarily difficult to use third party lending. They assured me that their partner lenders would provide competitive rates and that that was the only way I'd be able to leave the dealership with the vehicle that day. Competitive rates in this case was 4.9% or 250% more than my loan that I brought with me. And guess who it was with? Capital One. Since I had my daughter with me and it was a school night I decided to go ahead and take the loan and the car and refinance it later. Unfortunately, to get through the deal I had to wait over an hour (in a mostly vacated building since it was after hours) and go through the finance and add-on gauntlet. No I didn't want a third party warranty. No I didn't want to bring in the car for a paid firmware upgrade. And on and on. I'm certain it was out of spite but after the deal was completed about 3 hours later we were driving home when the satellite radio trial went dead. It was actually quite humorous to watch because the channels stopped working from higher numbers to lower numbers over about 30 seconds. I guess they were trying to recoup a few dollars. Fortunately though I was able to call the radio people and reset the 90 day free trial. I don't particularly care for XM but wanted to try it out and see if it was any better than when I bought my last car. It wasn't. at 90 days I went to spotify for a far superior value. Now let's talk about "make ready." This was a six year old Miata with 15,000 miles on it. This was a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED vehicle. When I test drove the vehicle the service minder light was on saying it had been well over 500 days since the last oil change. Even though it was certified there was little benefit because any certified warranty appears to be tied to the age as well. My coverage would terminate at 7 years total time. Overall the car was pretty good but I'd suggest buying a soft top in the daytime as mine was riddled with mold that I didn't see during the test drive. The car ran flawlessly for the 8000 miles I owned it before it was totaled by a drunk driver. I'd rate the Mazda engineers 5/5 stars though because when I was rear ended the energy dissipated from right rear across the trunk, into the right door and nothing into the passenger area. The tire and suspension was ripped almost completely from the vehicle and I was knocked about 50 feet through the intersection. I'm currently in the market for another Miata and another dealer to provide it. One last note. The people I worked with, aside from the salesman, were all pretty congenial and easy to work with. The policies that put barriers up at every turn--notsomuch. More
