BUYER BE BEWARE!Johnson City Toyota does not disclose damage This was the worst car buying experience I've ever had! After traveling more than 3,500 miles (12.5 hr flight including lay-over time and spending $50 This was the worst car buying experience I've ever had! After traveling more than 3,500 miles (12.5 hr flight including lay-over time and spending $500 on my plane ticket) to Johnson City Toyota (which Josh Duvall and Sales Manager Vince Hawkins were well aware of) to purchase this vehicle VIN: 3TMMU4FN7DM057041. I realized that the truck had been in an accident after a visual inspection. The accident damage was NOT reported in the CARFAX, nor disclosed to me prior to my flight. The entire rear bumper is damaged as well as the entire passenger bed side panel. After I directly asked Mr. Duvall over the phone (before my flight) if the truck had any dents, scratches or other damage, he stated that there is a ding on the truck. I repeat, Mr. Duvall only stated that there is a ding on the truck that was impossible to see in the tiny photos that were sent to me. I am disgusted to know that these sales people consider damage to an entire rear bumper and side panel a DING. After spending 7 hours of my time at the dealership including collecting 3 unbiased body shop repair quotes with estimates amounting to $1,814.04 in extra repair costs, they were unwilling to work with me to repair the truck, They were only willing to pay $200 to their "Bumper Guy" to repair the damage. Their resolution was completely unacceptable and laughable! Results were Sales Manager Vince Hawkins refunded my $500 deposit, left me stranded in the evening in a small one horse town, and only offered to drive me 1 mile up the road to Enterprise rental car. After talking to a few of their in-store customers about my situation and why I was upset. Vince Hawkins finally conceded to paying $9 for a cab ride to the nearest Grey Hound bus station to get me out of their store. My advise is not to deal with Johnson City Toyota. They were NOT upfront, did not disclose damage to a truck they are trying to sell, and were completely disrespectful and unreasonable. If only I could post pictures of the damage to the truck, you would also be disgusted by their lack of car damage disclosures! More
