My Review of Keeler BMW:
I had a great experience dealing with Keeler BMW in the past and now living in North Carolina I gave a call to Keeler to inquire about a 2006 330Ci convertible. The salesman that answered the call was Phil. Phil gave me all the information I needed about a car in stock. He was very friendly and personal. I committed over the phone to purchase the car. Phil made it easy, I was able to wire the funds to Keeler, get a one way airline ticket to Albany where Phil picked me up at the airport and took me to the nearby Keeler BMW. To my great satisfaction he had all the paperwork ready, the car was gleaming, parked inside next to his office. Inside of an hour I was on my way with my Vista Blue 330Ci with a blue canopy and beige interior. I've never had a more satisfying car delivery and I owe it all to Phil. Incidentally the next day I drove all of 848 miles by myself to Asheville in 13 1/4 hours, indeed "thr ultimate driving machine".

My Review of Keeler BMW:
I wanted to try out Keeler Honda and dropped off my Civic for an oil change on Friday, 7/1. On completion of the oil change, I was given a cool looking "report card" where, according to Keeler, my car was in green which means checked and ok in all the categories. Shawn the service rep said the car was inspected as part of the oil change and everything looked fine. The next time I took my car out on Sunday, I was shocked when the exhaust pipe broke when my husband was driving. One end of the pipe was hanging loose and the car was extremely noisy making it impossible to drive. I called Keeler on Tuesday, 7/5 and explained my experience and my surprise at the fact that the inspection supposedly done by Keeler a couple of days prior to the incident had not flagged this impending problem.

The Keeler representatives and manager that I spoke to were not only unapologetic about the fact that they had not done the inspection properly, but tried to gloss over the issue by telling that they only did a "visual inspection" of the exhaust pipe. When I pointed out that their "report card" clearly mentioned that the underside of the vehicle had been inspected and that the muffler and exhaust pipes were ok, they became highly unfriendly and said that they could do nothing to help me. Eventually, when I took my car to another repair shop, I was even more shocked to discover that my exhaust pipe had been severely corroded and rusted in several places and that even an untrained eye, let alone a dealer, could have easily spotted this by a mere visual examination.

Keeler not only did a poor job, but did their best to make me feel that I was making a hue and cry for nothing. Theirs is probably one of the worst dealerships I have ever been to, and I strongly urge potential customers to deal with them with great caution.

My Review of Keeler BMW:
At first appearance (phil) a salesperson seams very friendly. When he gets down to business he is pushy, and obnoxious. I came from Capital City just the day before and had a wonderful experience with them. I highly do not reccomend this salesperson, or this dealer for the aggressive salesmanner. My friends baught a nice Mercedes-Benz and reccomended this dealership, but the BMW dealership definatley does not meet up to the standerds. Beware of Phil.

My Review of Keeler BMW:
Last year I purchased an “Indy blue” Cooper S from Keeler Mini (a decision I regret to this day). From the time I placed the order to the time I received the vehicle I had to deal with no less than five different sales persons. The majority of these “professionals” seemed less than interested in my business as they dragged their feet in replying to my phone calls. In some cases I had to leave three messages before my call was returned.

I finally receive the vehicle and all is well until I wash it for the first time. At this point I noticed the front right side of the car appeared as if someone had sanded the finish off it. Closer inspection revealed the plastic molding around the front right wheel had been sanded to the point of removing the textured finish from it, the same “phenomenon” had occurred to the right side vent cover. I then noticed white paint dots on the window moldings, windshield wipers and parts of the body itself.

At this point I made an appointment to bring the car in to have these issues, and a couple of other minor items addressed.

I brought the car in, and after a few hours the service department representative came and told me the car was done. The minor issues were taken care of along with all molding around the wheel and vent cover, the finish/paint problem had not been addressed. Obviously I was not happy, the service department rep suggested I speak with the body shop manager.

The body shop manager informed me he was short handed that day and didn’t have time to fix the car. He then suggested I make an appointment for the following week. Now I’m really unhappy as I made the appointment (and took the day off work) specifically to get this taken care of. I then started to question the body shop manager as to how this could have happened…his response floored me; “sometimes we will do some touch up work out in the back lot, and some over spray must have blown onto your car…” I am now beyond unhappy and wondering what kind of rinky dink operation is this?

So now it is all crystal clear…. over spray gets on the car, a half-hearted effort is made to remove the over spray creating the scratches and damaging the molding. Unfortunately that’s not the end of the story.

I get the car home and take a closer look around the vehicle, the new vent cover has been installed incorrectly and one of the clips that hold it in place is exposed. I then open the hood and look at the new plastic molding around the right front wheel. Although the outside looks brand new, the inside of this molding is covered with sand and mud. Could this be because the part was taken from another car on the lot? Could this also mean my damaged part is now on that vehicle? At this point nothing would surprise me.

Speaking of surprises, I’m not pleased with the two holes drilled through the front bumper for the purpose of mounting my front license plate holder. I understand that in New York State the front license plate is required by law, but there must be a non-destructive way to mount it. Do you mount the front plates on the Mercedes, BMW’s or Land Rovers in that fashion? What if I move to a state where the front plate isn’t required? I must contract a body shop to repair the damage?

My Review of Keeler BMW:
My 2001 325 developed synchronization issues in 3rd gear. I took the car in for service to have the key reprogrammed and have the transmission issue addressed. The dealer happily charged me $50 for 5 minutes worth of work to reprogram the key, and then told me the syncro issue was all in my head... I suspect they didn't want to perform the warrenty service on the transmission.

The syncro problem eventually worsened in 3rd and developed in 2nd gear. The fluid in the gear box probably needs changing. I took the car back and reported the problem again, and requested an oil change. They charged me $95 for the oil change and once again told me the syncro problem was in my head. They sent me out with the shop foreman who doesn't know how to drive a stick and ended up riding and burning my clutch before deciding that my car was fine.

It seems like they're happy to over charge you for service not in warrenty, but when they have to fix something under warrenty, they lie to you to avoid it.

The car is now at another dealer having the tranny serviced. Avoid Keeler BMW if you can.

My Review of Keeler BMW:
The BMW service advisor I dealt with at Keeler doesn't know his products ("Your 325's control arms are forged steel, so a tow hook won't hurt them" -- just one sample quote), and he wouldn't budge when I asked for transportaion the SECOND time my brand new car had to be towed within its first thousand miles: I had to contact the general manager, who corrected the problem (barely). I should have bought from Carbone (Utica, NY), and certainly will the next time around.

My Review of Keeler BMW:
wanted to buy a new old stock car. i was ready to sign but asked for mud flaps and floor mats to be thrown in the deal. the sales manager was not accomodating in the least, despite the fact that this car has been sitting on their lot for a year already and will continue to do so meaning they'll have to pay for it sitting there - together with the fact that what i was asking for cost them about $100 at cost (what's $100 to accomodate a buyer?)!

this, to me, is symbolic of what to expect with this dealership. no effort to accomodate the potential buyer or to please them and provide 100% satisfaction.
