My Review of Keyes Toyota:
I own a Toyota Celica... while driving fairly close to the Keyes Toyota dealership, I heard a strange dragging sound... pulled over to a gas station and noticed that the plastic protective shield under the engine had popped off in a corner and was dragging on the pavement.
What holds these pieces up is a small plastic 'rivet' type screw. Absolutely nothing else was wrong with the car.
I stopped into Keyes...pulled into the service area, and stood by my car for about 5 minutes. I was taken into an office and left there for another 5 minutes, although they did give me a water. I explained that I just needed to have the 'rivet' put back in place.
The service manager shows up and starts writing up paperwork... then he gives me an estimate, just to look at the car. Most dealerships that I have dealt with in the past would have just popped a rivet in and I would have been on my way... Not these guys... before he would even look at my car he wanted a deposit... A freaking Deposit!!! For a 30 cent part and 1 minute of labor.
After explaining to him several times that I don't need a vehicle inspection, I don't need any other work done other than this small piece reinserted... he still insisted that the minimum would be the ~75.00 he quoted me... but, if I needed any additional work, they would deduct that fee from the labor, WooHoo! AGAIN, I explained that I don't need additional work, just the rivet.
I ended up buying the part needed for $1.00 and putting it back on in their driveway... cars been fine ever since.
Although my 5 minute problem turned into more than an hour.
Idiots over there... If they were ready and willing to nickel and dime me on a $1.00 part... just imagine what they'd do with creative financing and labor charges....They definitely were not too interested in obtaining a new customer.
BE VERY AWARE... In fact, avoid like the plague.
