Customer service, Key fob battery up charge This is my experience with Kings Toyota service center. I'm not a professional by any means, just my 2 cents. So I made an appointment for a regular oil change on 08/23 (been going there about 2 years now). Came in and taken cared by Larry Napier. Told him I also need my key fob battery replaced because I was having problem lock/unlock and starting my car. He told me that no way it could not be done today and I would need another appointment because they need to have a special technician for that (i did not mention it when making the apt coz I thought swapping batteries was..simple, my fault I guess), so I just went ahead with oil change. While waiting I asked a receptionist lady to schedule the apt for key fob, got told that I could bring it up with the guy before checking out, so I kept waiting. Got called for recommendation services, told the guy about key fob battery problem, he came back with $16 estimate and said it can be done right now, then got my initial. Only when I checked out to find out that it was $64.19 ($9.19 for part, $55 for labor) just to replace my key fob battery while a few minutes ago the service guy told me it was $16 (it was written on the recommendation list, and got my initial). I asked him why, he said they had to run a diagnostic. I did not want to argue coz the total amount was not considerable so just went ahead and pay and thought I may forget about it and go somewhere else. However, I got those problems a few times with Kings Toyota. I really want them just to tell me up front how much it gonna cost, I don't mind at all paying for it. In this case, it is frustrating that they gave me this estimate then charged me a totally different amount. I just want to point out coz this is quite obvious. With some complicated services, it is hard to keep up with them. Again, this is my subjective view. Hope I was wrong. More
Replacement belt not needed! Last week I took my Rav 4 in for free oil change. I was told I needed to have my serpentine belt replaced because the one I had was shredding badly. Last week I took my Rav 4 in for free oil change. I was told I needed to have my serpentine belt replaced because the one I had was shredding badly. It was to cost about $190. Since my nephew is a mechanic, I told them he would do the work for me. My nephew replaced the belt and there was not ONE SHREDDED PLACE ON THE BELT! They also told me I need a new battery which I had my nephew replace, now I'm wondering if that was a lie too. I was going to trade in my Rav 4 but it won't be at King's Auto. More

This year and model vehicle falls into the risk category for oil consumption failure requiring a complete engine replacement. The communication on this issue from the dealer was suspect and was not clearly understood. The car meets all the criteria to qualify for the program set-up to pay for repairs. The oil consumption issue is part of a Class Action lawsuit again Toyota. Thousands of engines are all failing these tests. The car could not go more than 1,000 miles without needing more oil be added. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. The risk of engine oil consumption risk was not communicated at time of purchase. The only real solution to the engine oil consumption defect is a complete engine replacement or removal and repair and reinstall action of the engine deals etc (which is close to same cost as replacing with a new engine). We continue to get the run around and we have been told as of January 18, 2017 that the claim is being denied since King's failed to communicate the issues to the Owner of the vehicle. More
Incompetence at its worst I've taken my 2013 Highlander to this dealership for the past 3 years and have always been impressed with their level of service. I don't know what h I've taken my 2013 Highlander to this dealership for the past 3 years and have always been impressed with their level of service. I don't know what happened, but they obviously switched managers and are now the worst service place ever. We ordered tires for the car and were told to make a service appointment. I called an hour before the appointment and the tires weren't there. I then made another service appointment for that saturday and called again Saturday morning to make sure they were there, but again no tires. They then called a couple of hours later and said the tires were in so I made another appointment for the next Saturday. Guess what...the tires weren't there when I went into the appointment. They put them on someone else's car. I would have made 3 useless trips to this dealership if I hadn't called to check on the tires. Why is it my job to make sure the tires are there? Isn't that what the service manager does? Please don't waste your time. They were very rude and did not apologize for the mix up and for my useless trip there. More
Bad Brake Inspection Had front pads replaced less than 2000 miles ago-they stated and marked the inspection form that the rear brakes were good-in the green zone. So a cou Had front pads replaced less than 2000 miles ago-they stated and marked the inspection form that the rear brakes were good-in the green zone. So a couple weeks later I hear a metallic grinding noise from rear axle area. Luckily I'm near Performance Toyota so take it in and they find rear brake pads are GONE and rotors are shot. And this is after Kings has previously broken two of my wheel covers during a "Free" oil change. (No one from Kings EVER apologized-just stated it like it was an everyday occurrence and not their concern.) I've decided it's well worth the cost of an oil change to avoid Kings Service Department in the future More

2 hour wait with an appointment How is it possible that they offer appointments, yet when you show up on time or even a little early you're told they ate running 2 hours behind? The How is it possible that they offer appointments, yet when you show up on time or even a little early you're told they ate running 2 hours behind? The only positive is they told me before they took my car back, unlike the past few times they leave you waiting for hours in the waiting room. Anyone wanting to buy a car from here keep in mind that 2 year maintenance and lifetime oil changes come with a severe tax on your time. I am completely feed up with them and will refuse to use their service department again which also means I will never buy a car from here again either. More
Time Wasting "Service" Department If you like wasting your time and not getting anything accomplished, by all means check out their service department! Went in to get a splash guard r If you like wasting your time and not getting anything accomplished, by all means check out their service department! Went in to get a splash guard replaced; it took them TWO HOURS to look under there and figure our they couldn't fix it. If you want me in at 2:30 to spend 5 minutes looking don't ask me to come in at 12:30. And if you're incompetent fine, but don't waste my time flaunting your ignorance! Then they had the audacity to suggest I take it to a body shop and file a fraudulent insurance claim as a way of saving money ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THEN, when I went to complain they had the nerve to drop my call like that was somehow going to stop me. I'm never trusting my vehicle, time, or money with them, and my next vehicle will definitely come from elsewhere. I suggest you do the same. More
Terrible Service Department Bought a 2016 Toyota Tacoma. I bought a demo vehicle and it had a dent on a door which I was promised it would be fixed and that I would never notice Bought a 2016 Toyota Tacoma. I bought a demo vehicle and it had a dent on a door which I was promised it would be fixed and that I would never notice it was ever there. Fist attempt to get it fixed I had to chase down the guy how sold me the vehicle and then the repair man too. They fixed the dent and not the paint. when for the fist oil change and pointed out some problem with some decals it has around the tires to protect from rock chips. The y told me the warranty will cover the fix. Drop the vehicle they had it for almost 3 weeks and they didn't even fixed the problem and again did not fix the paint on the door. In summary terrible sells department and terrible service department. More
