Great experience, was out of town and our check engine light came on. Drove right to the dealership and they checked it out to make sure that it was safe to drive. Thankfully it was due to the cold weather and we were on our way in no time. Craig & Kerry made sure all our questions were answered and gave us information to give to our shop when we returned home. Thank you Kolar! More
Purchased a van from Kolar of which the engine light came on during the ride home. Our mechanic said it's a $2-3k repair and it appeared as though someone had been looking at it. Kolar would nat take the van on during the ride home. Our mechanic said it's a $2-3k repair and it appeared as though someone had been looking at it. Kolar would nat take the van back or work with us at all. Seems unethical. More
Bought a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali from Kolar. Right after buying the truck I had a piston slap. Brought the truck in under warranty and they said nothing is wrong. My husband (whose a mechanic) told me after buying the truck I had a piston slap. Brought the truck in under warranty and they said nothing is wrong. My husband (whose a mechanic) told me to bring it in again cause there is definitely something wrong. They had my truck for 3 weeks, with no call. I finally called and they wouldn't give me a strait answer or call back. My stepdad knows the service manager so called him to inquire what was going on. The sales manager told my stepdad that the mechanic who the truck was assigned to was on vacation so they left it sitting there for 3 weeks. They assigned it to another mechanic and I got it back a few days later. When I got the truck back the gas tank was on empty, the grill was cracked and they had driven it over 200 miles. I knew they had driven it that far because I had the progressive snapshot (records time driven and distance). I called the manager to complain and he said they would fix the situation (new grill and fill up gas tank). The manager could not tell me how/why my car had been driven over 200 miles and I had a broken grill. I ended dropping it off again for another week. They fixed the grill but did not fill up my gas tank. This service department is a joke. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. More

When I inquired he took time to send me a short video showing me the car and getting a test drive appt set up. I loved it and went forward purchasing it. Brad and Dave were also helpful and amazing through the process, and were on the ball which is why I went forward with the car from their Dealership and not the other where I had interest in a car. After taking it home, I had a concern with the headlights not being very well lit and driving felt unsafe. I reached out to him and he had the shop look at the lights and they adjusted them and now I can see and they work amazing. However, the reason for the 3 stars is the car starter that was put in my car (was part of the purchase agreement) is not good. The purpose was so I can start my car inside work instead of walking outside to do it, but the range on it is garbage and I still need to walk outside to start it which defeats the having a starters purpose.( My company is large and they get a bit tetchy about people leaving a lot and not being on the production floor. ) And sometimes I have to be outside almost in front of it. Plus where they took the car...a tire place? They did not attach the headliner correctly. It actually came loose and I needed to pop it back in. I do understand that the car I purchased was not a GM product but a better starter should've been installed and at a more reputable installation place. But I do love my car even with awful gas mileage (and it is a hybrid my whole reason for buying). Range 40-42mpg and I barely get 32mpg on eco. But that is not the fault of the Dealership but the maker of the car and false numbers. She'll do for a couple years and then I will probably go and get a Prius from Kolar Toyota :) More

Was told the service manager was looking at the tapes. Two weeks after the apt the sales manager has someone else call me to tell me they didn't do it. I live 2. hours away. I told the lady in the service department that I would be down next week to talk to the service manager and look at the tapes she even asked me what time I would be there. So I show up and the service manager is out with a sick kid. And that happens no big deal but no one there can help me or make a call on it. So a waste of time on my part. I just wanted to look at the tapes both tapes. And I was told they don't hang on to the tapes long where the oil changes are happening. So why didn't they hang on to it to prove to me they didn't do it? Where is the customer service? This was the first 5,000 oil change on my brand new Suburban. More
I bought a 2013 Subaru Legacy in July 2019. When I test drove it with the salesman, Jeremy, I noticed a hesitation with acceleration. He said it was lot rot. The, later that week we noticed the car was usi drove it with the salesman, Jeremy, I noticed a hesitation with acceleration. He said it was lot rot. The, later that week we noticed the car was using oil. 2 quarts to be exact. Jeremy was again contacted and told us to just keep putting oil in it and watch it because that's what we could afford! So, we did. The car proceeded to keep hesitating with acceleration but was worsening and the oil consumption was a weekly thing. The brakes started making noise and we replaced those. We had only had the car 2 1/2 months. At three months the car started to HEAVILY smoke and I was afraid to drive it for fear of the motor "going". We brought the car back to the dealer and they sent it over to Subaru for a diagnostic test. It needs pistons and rings. A HUGE job! Kolar has had it a month now trying to find financing to trade out the car but to no avail since I'm out of work for medical reasons. When I ask them to fix it they said it would cost ME too much. I feel they should NEVER have sold me a vehicle like that in the first place and I am VERY upset with their lack of responsibility. They wouldn't even offer me a loaner, saying quote, "We never do that." Keep in mind I had only made 3 payments on it. I will be speaking with a lawyer and DO NOT recommend this dealership to ANYONE!!! More
Most unexperienced service staff I brought my 2015 Silverado in October 28th for transmission issues, and it was finally looked at on October 30th. Brent the service advisor called st I brought my 2015 Silverado in October 28th for transmission issues, and it was finally looked at on October 30th. Brent the service advisor called stating that they ordered a part to fix the truck and he'd call me when it's ready. He didn't tell me what was wrong, how long it would take, and how much it would cost. I had to ask!! He failed to tell me the part was on back order. The service was covered under warranty, I was denied a rental/loaner vehicle. I tried to share my complaints with the service manager but my calls went unanswered until I emailed the General Manager. I then contacted Customer Care who told me I was entitled to a rental which the dealer still failed to provide me. I finally got my truck back November 15, over 2 weeks. Brent has NO knowledge of vehicle mechanics, he stated he thought it would be a simple service, also his description of the part was a cover with bolts. OK..... Upon getting the vehicle back I found out they had to drop the transmission, replace gaskets, filter, fluids, and gears 1,2,3,4. Not so simple. Another service writer told me I probably didn't get the rental because I'm the 2nd owner. what part of that comment makes any sense?!?! I purchased the vehicle at Rice Lake Chevy with a warranty. The service manager, service writers at Kolar Chevy should Not be employed in the automotive industry. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE FOR SERVICE AT THIS DEALERSHIP!!! More
